Everything about our stay at Riad Alaka was amazing. We stayed for 6 nights and the whole time we felt at home. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, nothing was too much to ask. The attention to detail was exceptional and the rooms were cleaned daily. The rooftop was a beautiful place to relax and it is perfectly located for a short stroll into the medina and perfectly located for a taxi as only a short walk from the road. At night the Riad is quiet and relaxing with limited noise from the city. On our first day we had the wellness package which we would highly recommend. It was a great and relaxing beginning to our holiday. Meals were homemade, traditional and delicious. We would highly recommend to anyone visiting Marakech for any amount of time. Thank you so much to all the staff for a lovely experience, we will definitely be returning and recommending to anyone who plans to visit.

I loved that the property was super clean in a very quiet alley way. Staff were amazing, Omar was wonderful and truly kind and helpful. Fast WiFi and breakfast on the upstairs terrace complete a great 5 night visit. One tip is to ask the riad to collect you from the airport as it’s very hard to find if you arrive by normal taxi as they can’t stop outside. Dinner was lovely which we had the 1st night after travelling all day. I’d very much recommend staying here for an authentic break

Only thing which was a bit annoying was very low water pressure in the shower but we overcame that and it didn’t spoil our stay.

- The riad is beautiful designed in a traditional fashion, rooms are decadent - The location is a little out of the way but in the hustle and bustle of the locals, so as you want to the main square (20 mins) you can discover local culture - There are great little convenience stores on your doorstep, as well as fab terraced restaurants and spas within minutes - The plunge pool was refreshing - The staff are friendly and accommodating and service very good - The AC was very good particularly in the 47 degree heat we endured! - Breakfast is great on the terrace, fresh items and lots of choice

- The plunge pool water wasn't particularly clear

We had an exceptional 15/10 hospitality experience. The staff was incredibly friendly. The owner, Majoub, personally drove us to and from the airport to the Riad. Mimon, Omar (apologies if I’ve misspelled), and the rest of the team were very attentive, always checking in on us and making sure we felt right at home. They also offer excursions, breakfast, and dinner—all within the Riad. So after a long, tiring tour, we didn’t need to go out for dinner. Just let them know in advance, and they’ll have a meal ready for you. We had a fantastic time with Abdul, our friendly driver on the private Ait Ben Haddou tour. He’s the safest driver you could ask for—thank you, Abdul! And the highlight? The in-house hammam and body massage—it was absolutely amazing. Overall, our stay at Riad Alaka was wonderful, and we’ve already recommended it to our friends. You definitely won’t be disappointed!

location in the heart of Medina, close to all attractions..staff extremely helpful..had a traditional morrocan dinner once, freshly prepared, very tasty..delicious breakfast, waiting to be served for you even if the time for breakfast has passed..didnt have time to use the hammam or massage, but the facilities looked cosy

we stayed over New Year,so the nights and mornings were pretty cold, since the riads dont have the real roofs..we were using urgently repaired AC,but we needed a heater as well..and that is the main flaw of the accomodation in riads generally-no natural light,no windows(if you open the ones on the entrance door, all the other guests can see you),not enough space in the room ,nor in the wardrobe,so we kept everything in the suitcases..and finally, just in the front of the entrance to this beautiful Riad,a real dump, full of garbage and ruins of some previous houses..

Riad Alaka is perfect for exploring Marrakech with a central location in the Medina! The host (and owner) Mahjoub and his associates Mimoune and Omar gave us a warm and friendly welcome, arranged excellent guide service in-city and day trips outside Marrakech as well as transfer to/from the airport, and provided a truly memorable birthday party for our daughter. The Riad is a traditional Moroccan home with a beautiful interior courtyard, the rooms are spacious and clean, the breakfasts and dinners were delicious, and the service always fast and efficient. And don't miss their rooftop hamam and massage facility - a truly rejuvenating experience!

Nothing to add here!

We loved the traditional style of the Riad. The lovely peaceful roof terrace which was a perfect place to chill out after a busy day exploring! The breakfasts were delicious and the two evening meals we had were stunning! The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble! Our host, Mr Majoub, was very welcoming and helpful in planning our excursions and gifted us some Moroccan spices to take home!

The staff were the most friendly and lovely people. They always had a smile around their faces. The receptionist, Mimoune, was very helpful and attentive. Even the lady cleaner was very accommodating. She showed us one of the rooms she was cleaning as some of the rooms have different themes. The Riad has a little pool that is nice for cooling off at the centre that has different coloured lights on during the night. They have a lovely receiving area in front of it that they offer delicious tea and snacks when arriving. It is near the exit where you can hail a taxi and around 10 minute walk to Bacha Coffee and 15 minute walk to Marajah Spa. Although they have their own hammam and massage, I haven’t tried it since I had already pre-booked for another one prior.

There isn’t really a roof top view but they do serve the meals there and it had a good breeze during the night at this time of month. Other than that, it was a relaxing stay.

Mahjoub & his team were superb - really friendly, thoughtful and helpful at all times. My daughter and I have just returned from 3 days in Marrakech and we hadn't planned what we were going to do for our stay before we arrived. Mahjoub very quickly helped us sort out a programme and helped us book a guide for our first afternoon which we think was absolutely essential as we were able to explore all areas of the Souks in Medina, which we could not have done on our own without getting lost. The Riad Alaka was charming - very clean & with wonderful & friendly staff throughout the entire team. Breakfast was included which we ate on the terraced rooftop and we also choose to have dinner at the Riad on the first 2 nights - cooked by a lovely lady and served with genuine warmth by Omar, all of which created a warm family atmosphere.

Nothing negative at all - only a suggestion that a small fridge in the bedroom would be much appreciated.

We had a great time with Majhoub and his team. They made arrangements to collect us from the airport and we were welcomed with fabulous dinner. The Riad was superb. It's located in the Medina, which is full of hustle and bustle, but we were in a quiet spot within an easy walk to everything. Majhoub helped us put together an itinerary for the week, which was super helpful. We visited the Atlast Mountains, a lunch with a Berber family, enjoyed a hot air balloon flight and visited a camp in the Agabay Desert. Majhoub was very clear to relay that I was a veggie to the organisers of any tours with food. Our driver, Abdou, was excellent. He was extremely knowledgeable, professional and had a very warm and friendly personality. He was with us most days and told us a lot about the country, different areas, and history during our travels. We felt extremely safe. The staff were fantastic and we felt like we were part of the family rather than guests. Our thanks go to Majhoub, Abdou, Mimon, Aziza, Merica and Soraya and anyone we have missed - sorry (I think I have their names correctly!) for making a stay extremely special.

Nothing.
