Very welcoming hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Great location within easy walking distance of all the main sights and in a lovely neighbourhood. Chose not to have breakfast as we are not breakfast people, however the hotel was really nice for late night drink and nightcap at the end of the day and we did that most nights. Rooms were cosy with all the key amenities. Would definitely recommend and go back again.

From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. They were extra friendly and always ready to help with any request, which made my stay incredibly enjoyable. The room was perfect, with an exceptionally comfortable bed and pillows that ensured a great night’s sleep every night. The location was also excellent—close to everything I needed, yet quiet enough for some relaxation. Breakfast was a highlight of my stay, with a wide variety of delicious options to suit every taste. It was the perfect start to each day! Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations. A fantastic stay, wonderful service, and amazing value for money—I’ll definitely be returning!

We did not order breakfast as we want to stay in bed until late morning. The hotel was just outside the worst noisy area, but near enough restaurants and shopping. At the same time this hotel is on the right side to Schipol, about 20 minutes by taxi (use the company suggested by Booling.com, they were great!). We went there 2nd Christmas time, so the kitchen was run by just one person. I giess the lasagne was prefabricated, but tasy when warmed up properly. Not restaurant standard in general, but a good cafe. The wines were great! We were lucky and got upgraded to a bigger room. It was very clean and tidy, and was eqipped with a sofa, USB chargers at the beds and a big TV. No carpets. Very good!

The doors slam if not holding them when closing. Disturbing in the evening/night, but not a big problem for me, actually. The dinners could be warmer.

I recently stayed at Catalonia Vondel Amsterdam, and I couldn't have been more impressed with the experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful, making check-in a breeze. The lobby had a warm and inviting atmosphere, and I immediately felt at ease. My room was spotless, spacious, and tastefully decorated. The bed was extremely comfortable, and I had a great night's sleep every night. I especially appreciated the little touches, like the complimentary bottled water, minibar with soft and alcoholic drinks, high-quality toiletries, spacious bathroom, and good wi-fi connection. The location of the hotel was perfect, situated close to all the major attractions, making it easy to explore the area. I also loved the peacefulness of the hotel. Overall, my stay was exceptional, and I would highly recommend Catalonia Vondel Amsterdam to anyone visiting the area. I honestly loved my time at this hotel! The rooms are truly splendid, and please let me tell you about the staff. I'm dead serious when I say I absolutely LOVE the staff here! Each and everyone of them are absolutely fantastic, to say the least. I truly felt so welcomed! I chose this hotel based on other reviews, and it was beyond all expectations. You can definitely expect a warm welcome at arrival. They will also greet you warmly in the morning, afternoon and evening, when you walk past the receptionists! If you have any issues or concerns, they will do their best to help(speaking from experience) I spent my birthday weekend there, and they made it 100x better. I'm just so grateful. 10/10. Can't wait to come back!

Our stay was very nice from start to finish! The hotel is well located, within 5-7 minute walk to Rijk and Van Gogh museum, as well as Leidseplein Square, which has lots of restaurants, cafes, and shopping. You can pretty much access most Amsterdam landmarks and attractions within 20-30 minutes via a beautiful city walk or via Tram from Leidseplein. The room was clean, spacious, and well-equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and we appreciated thoughtful details like ample closet space, bathroom cabinets, and nooks to store luggage. The staff was great – friendly, professional, and always ready to assist with anything we needed.

We stayed in a Junior Suite. The room was plenty spacious with room to unpack. I take baths and enjoyed the tub in the room. Most importantly, it was clean. While the BEST location would be on the canals (if $$$ is no object go for the Pulitzer) I will say that this is what I DID like about this location: There are 4 museums worth seeing but if you try to cram them all in when you go to the Museumplein you will fry your brain and not enjoy yourself. When you STAY in the museumplein then you can start your day at 1 museum (nearby) and then go elsewhere....different museum the next morning. I recommend doing Rijksmuseum on different day than Van Gogh museum if you can

The shower was the size of a shoebox. While the hotel and the room were definitely CLEAN...as others have noted, the carpet and some of the furniture (couch) could really stand to be updated.

When we arrived there was a mix up with the booking and we couldn't get into the room we had booked until the following night. They gave us the next best room for the first night and refunded the difference, but they were really apologetic and also gave us free breakfasts for our whole stay (a good breakfast too) and two bottles of Cava!! We really appreciated them making such an effort after the initial problem. The staff were all really helpful throughout our stay as well, including helping us store our rented e-bikes in their secure area at the rear, and lugging them up and down the steep staircase (bikes were heavy!). We really liked the room we ended up in (Vondel suite), and the location was perfect for us - walking distance to the museums, easy tram ride to the old town, and straightforward tram/sprinter back to Schiphol. We would love to stay here again.

I had a fantastic stay in the hotel. The staff was exceptionally friendly - that was a great plus. The rooms are Amsterdam-like small but sufficient for my needs. Everything was clean, incl. bathroom. I felt well in the room. The air conditioner worked great. I enjoyed the breakfast - everything you need for a great start to the day. I took the bus from the airport to the city and a bus stop is super close to the hotel - less than 5 min walking. The hotel is in a rather quiet street, but walking distance to restaurants, bars, bus and tram stops. I enjoyed it and can recommend it.

The room felt a little "stuffy" when entering the first time, but that was no problem, as the AC worked well. Besides that, nothing else to complain about.
