The building oozed history, very well looked after, no unnecessary "modernising" . Yes the room I had was small but once used to the fact that your sitting area was the upstairs verandah, where you can sit and take in the views and that your tea & coffee requirements are on the antique dark wood wood landing you can just relax and wallow in nostalgia. The shared bathroom caused no issues, good continental breakfast, free use of the washing machine, parking at rear and friendly hosts.
Roadworks outside the front door but didn't cause any issues.

The Wong Room was spacious, comfortable & with an ensuite, a small, delightful garden with outdoor table when we ate our lovely fish & chips. There was an undercover area to store our cycles overnight. The Continental Breakfast was lovely - cereals, yogurt, fruits, jams & toast. The old pianola in the guest lounge was modified into a well, tuned very nice piano which was a pleasure to play.
The wifi in the Wong Room was very weak & could probably be made faster & stronger with a wifi powering extender. However, the wifi in the lounge was excellent so we didn't mind the weak signal in the room.

Beautifully restored building. We thought Clyde might be a bit of a one horse town but it is delightful. Clean, attractive, nice cafes and shops. The host of Dunstan House was very amenable and informative about the history of the house. The room was lovely. Shared bathroom was clean and pleasant with plenty of towels. Tea/coffee on fabulous landing with glasses for water/wine also available. Lovely first floor balcony. Breakfast thrown in for an extremely reasonable price. Choice of cereals, yoghurt, fresh fruit, fruit juice, toast and spreads. V pleasant stay.
I liked everything. It lived up to and beyond our expectations.

This is a hotel full of historical charm. The owners, Ian and Meredith, are incredibly friendly and welcoming. From the lobby to the room interiors, everything gives you a sense of stepping back in time. The small balcony on the second floor is a great spot for relaxing and enjoying a drink. Time seems to slow down here, making it especially relaxing. If you enjoy a vintage atmosphere, this hotel is truly a perfect choice for you.

Very old world charm and exceptionally well maintained! Ian and Meredith were the perfect hosts from check-in to check-out. We decided to go for the Ellen Jennings room with en-suite bathroom and a lounge as we stayed three nights and wanted a bit of space. Fabulous room with great outlook onto the street and surrounding hills. Access to balcony where one could enjoy a Pinot at the end of the day. Breakfast was decent and the coffee even better! Can’t fault this hotel.

Lovely character accommodation with welcoming host. Includes help yourself continental breakfast with choice of barista coffee. We stayed in the Albert Fountain room with en suite which was well presented, clean and comfortable. Although the room was not huge there was a lovely big balcony to sit out on and a communal lounge, also we appreciated the hot drink facilities and fridge available on the landing.
Everything was great

A step back in time to the elegance and ambience of a century ago. Lovely.
The listing info was not accurate, with the potential for adding significantly to the cost of the room. I paid the extra for an ensuite room when the booking was for one, at a lesser rate, but was annoyed by being asked to pay extra for the cooked element of the so-called 'free' breakfast. Communication, listing data needs to be accurate... and I wasn't the only guest caught out!

If you are wanting to immerse yourself in the history of Clyde this is the place to stay. We had a short drive round to a few of the local vineyards, enjoying the wine tastings. Relaxed on the wrap around balcony, before wondering across the road for a lovely meal at Olivers. Then enjoyed a continental breakfast before heading off to the Lake Dunstan Bike trail. In addition Ian and Meredith were lovely hosts and all our needs were met, i highly recommend staying here, we loved it.

Owner and staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast in the cafe was great. It also provided a range of options to purchase a takeaway lunch for our cycle ride that day. Sitting out on the upstairs veranda chatting to other guests in the evening.
We were in the Miners Lane studio unit out the back of the property. It had been a hot day and, although a pedestal fan was provided and windows were open, the room was stuffy overnight.

Excellent hosts, Breakfast, and charming historic Building. Great Location.
Appreciate it is an historic building however our room had a very loud creak in the floor on one side of the room and Bathroom which made us constant fear we were disturbing other guests. This is a relatively easy fix – so hope it gets done soon.
