Chelsea Park is a home away from home - modern, clean, well appointed, quiet and well located within Nelson. Our room had all the basic amenities required for a short or longer stay and the room service was excellent, everything was in working order, exceptionally good beds, the cleaning staff were particular and very efficient in replacing items that were used up. Your location gives you quick access to Spagalimi's Pizzaria 3 mins away on foot and Nelson's CBD and the restaurant precinct is an easy 15 mins stroll where you'll not go wrong at Penguino's Icecreams, Little India Bistro, Green Bamboo, Jay's Dumplings, Eight Plates or Chokdee restaurants. Nelson seems to do coffee really well almost anywhere but our favourite was definitely the cafe within Suter Art Gallery. But what makes Chelsea Park ultra special is Dean the owner of Chelsea Park. The welcome and orientation is second to none, Dean is Nelson's number 1 fan and freely offers good suggestions and points out hidden gems. Who else would phone you knowing that you are out to dinner on a significant anniversary to warn you that there is a police check point right outside your accommodation - nice thoughtful touch but we weren't actually drinking! Friendly host from day 1 to the last day and every day in between. If Dean had been the inn keeper on the very first Christmas he would have found room in his inn.

Just one idiosyncratic quibble - I personally do not like being asked to throw my used towels on the floor for the cleaners to pick up. I find it demeaning to me and disrespectful to the cleaners who have to bend over how many times a day to pick the towels up. Dean listened to my quibble and will think it over. Overall, 9.5 out of 10.

The hosts, Dean & Tomoko were brilliant. Dean was especially helpful, passing on local knowledge of best food, pubs, places to go, and parking of our car!! Thanks for your calm patience Dean😀 Compared to some of the other accommodation we had stayed in, this was probably the least impressive, but the hospitality made up for the bijou room. It had all the facilities you needed, and was comfy enough, just a bit smaller than we were used to, but we had a lovely stay👍

Just not as luxurious as we had previously experienced, and a wee bit small.

The jet spa was fantastic, all jets were in working condition and had good pressure. Plenty of coffee, tea, hot chocolate and God knows what else was there. Cleanliness. Considering I'm a professional cleaner myself I'd give them a very high rating for it.

The TV had no Netflix, YouTube or Internet connection, which was disappointing as when you see a place that has a jet spa in a room you would expect a new TV there too 😆 but luckily we stayed only a short time there.

Beautiful place to stay. Amazing and hospitable hosts. Affordable prices, very clean rooms with everything that you could need including comfy warm beds, wifi, My Sky, and of course my favourite thing, the spa baths. 🙌

Can't fault anything! loved everything about this place. Highly recommend and would absolutely book again. Thank you Dean, Timoko and Mia. You are amazing hosts and made us feel so welcome in Nelson.

Dean was a lovely host and made us feel right at home. He was quick to provide recommendations for the area and made sure we had everything we needed. He even let us check out slightly later so we could have a sleep in after finishing our 5 day hike which was much appreciated. The room was incredibly clean, had a comfortable bed and all the ammenities. Thank you for having us, we will definitely stay again when we return to Nelson :)

Oh my goodness, where do I begin... from the beginning, when we arrived early, we were able to leave our bags at reception, and Tomako offered to chill our wine for us. We returned to xheck in to find our bags and wine in our room waiting for us. When Tomako realised we were four friends, she quickly separated the king bed to two singles. Once again, when it was time to check out, we were able to leave our bags for the day. Upon walking back to the accommodation, Tomako's husband Dean offered to take us to the airport. The accommodation was centrally located, within waking distance to town, surprisingly very quiet even being located on a main road. Our room was superb, and it was wonderful having extra glasses, cups, plates, etc, so often you stay at places, and there is only the number of items matching the number of guests. Finally, we, as a group of friends, would definitely recommend Chelsea Park and will highly recommend this place to our family & friends.

Absolutely nothing!

Lovely spacious one BR apartment. The ensuite was large and airy. The bed was comfortable. It was spotless. We have a cute little courtyard at the back. And the staff were superb. They were extremely helpful and went the extra mile.

Only that next door had a little dog that kept coming into our courtyard and unit. I had to ask them three times to keep their dog in.We finally shut our courtyard door to keep it out.

The owners Tomoko & Dean were very welcoming & accommodating. The unit was clean & had just had carpets cleaned that day. The beds & bedding were comfy & had electric blankets which was appreciated. There was a large spa bath, but we didn't end up using it.

Shower over the bath. Not a huge issue, I just prefer to have a separate shower recess as I get older. May be an issue though for elderly or anyone with a disability.

Best Motor lodge we have stayed at. Not only was it quiet which is something a lot of motor lodges fail to be. But it also had the best coffee I’ve managed to find since we started travelling from Auckland. The spar bath was just brilliant. Had a few such spar baths over the previous 3 weeks and this was hands down the best. Parking was good. Distance to centre and shops was a short walk. Staff were great. Very much worth staying here. Just make sure you get the spar bath room :)

Great customer service, very accomodating, we had a late check in due to poor weather, the hosts were more than happy to cater for that, when we arrived the room was lovely and warm. Then we decided to stay an extra night which was a simple chat at reception and I was given a discount, which is always appreciated when on holiday. Were courteous when I asked for more towels, and checked to make sure I was happy for someone to enter our room to do that, even asked if I had a preference for who could do that, it was very reassuring. Great hosts!
