The staff was SO accommodating! We needed to leave very early before breakfast opened and they let us go into the breakfast room to grab some food even before it opened. We asked if they would store our bags for a couple days after we left and they were so happy to. On the way back we were late retrieving our bags (after hours) and they went out of their way to make it possible for us to get them quite late even after the staff had gone home. So communicative and generous. Would absolutely stay again! Also very short (2-3 min) walk to a great dinner restaurant, which was so convenient. Would definitely stay here again.

A little out of the way to BetterBus and Intercity bus stops. If we plan to use the bus we might stay a bit more in town central. It was about a 20 min walk for us.

Quiet Marina location with a 15 -20 minute walk into the main town of Nelson. Walking distance to Anglican Church, The Queens Gardens, the Geographical Centre of NZ, Woolworths and all restaurants. A 1 minute stroll to the Anchorage restaurant & bar for good meals. We stayed for 2 nights before and again after our 3 day Abel Tasman National Park hike. We were grateful to be able to leave our luggage with Belinda at reception during this time. All staff were met were so lovely, friendly and helpful with every interaction. Bed was so comfortable and rooms had everything needed. Continental breaky included with our booking option which was also great. Onsite guest laundry is so handy too.

Nothing - everything was just great!

Close to the city, easy walking distance. At first I was a little concerned as we drove into an industrial kinda feel area, but once I saw the view from my room and how quite it was and close to the city, it was really very relaxing. Breakfast offering was much appreciated too. Very pleasant and friendly host.

Pillows were very flat, so hard to get comfortable and would have liked a little table so we could eat our take away, but we ended up using a bedside table to make do.

Very nice location and nice walk into town

We really liked the hotel and staff welcoming. However the very friendly receptionist smoked and seemed to be staying or located below our room quite often and smoke wafted up to our balcony and others. So much so the person in the neighbouring room asked us to stop smoking! We have never smoked! We felt embarrassed to say anything as she often took breaks below and was probably unaware. We enjoyed drinks and food on the balcony but the smoke interfered as it was a regular event. We are sure she was unaware.

At first look the bright yellow exterior is interesting but let it not deter you from a really well run property. Belinda is thorough, attentive, prompt and efficient. Thank you for our warm welcome, super clean rooms and the magnificent view of the marina. We really appreciated how well kept and neat our rooms were. The beds were so plush and comfortable and air-conditioning perfect. Loved that the rooms had SkyTV. Our stay included breakfast and I must say that in all my travels around Aotearoa, this was one of the neatest, most thoughtfully laid put motel breakfasts. It was simple but fresh and the note to GF eaters like myself was truly appreciated. Definitely a property we will recommend or be back at when in Nelson next.

We had a 2nd floor room w/ balcony overlooking the marina- loved the view. Room had microwave, frig, hot water kettle and French press. Nice common dining room w/ continental breakfast provided. Belinda ( manager) couldn’t have been nicer. As was the cleaning staff. Short drive to downtown Nelson, or the other direction to good waterfront restaurants. Bonus was sweet cat, Tiddlywinks, who came around for pets. I would ask for room facing the waterfront- I would not have liked the courtyard facing rooms.

We booked a room with a courtyard view; on arrival the very friendly host gave us a room with a view onto the marina which was great. The room was spotless, with all you could expect to make your stay comfortable. Breakfast was included in the very reasonable room price and had a good selection.

Nothing to not like, very happy with our stay even though they were understaffed due to illness.

Comfy beds & extremely helpful staff, who quickly got a room prepared for us to switch into another room as we wanted to stay an extra night.(Our previous room was already booked out). We ended up in a 1 bed room with balcony & separate lounge with kitchen!

Initially, as another person commented, the location is right on the port, however it is close to town & overlooks the marina!

We were a party of 6 adults and we stayed at Harbourside before and after walking the Nydia track. The owners were very helpful, even before we arrived, with answering questions by phone and email. The owners could not have been more accommodating. They were happy for us to leave excess luggage with them whilst we walked the track and on the day of departure, after checkout and before our transport pick up. They opened up the breakfast room early for us as we had an early start the first day of the walk. They were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms and bathrooms were spotlessly clean and well maintained. The Harbourview rooms were delightful but the courtyard rooms were very adequate as well, especially if you were just staying overnight. The breakfast was a typical continental with cereals, yoghurt, fruit and toast. The locations was ideal. Only 10-15 minute walk into the CBD along a user friendly walkway and a 10-15minute walk to good restaurants along the waterfront. Overall we felt the accommodation was good value, had all the amenities we needed (including washing machines) and the staff were great. We would definitely stay here again and recommend to others. Thank you to the owners for making our stay so easy and comfortable.

To be honest it would be difficult to find anything I would change. The accommodation is on two levels. We used the stairs all the time with no problem. I did not notice if there was a lift and there might have been. But, if not, then some people they may find climbing the stairs with suitcases difficult. However, going on our experience, I suspect the owners would be very willing to carry cases up the stairs for you.

We stayed 2 nights. Very quiet location, overlooking the harbour and away from Main Street. However, not too far from town centre. Bed was super soft and snuggly. Good block out curtains. Generous amount of towels provided. We decided to purchase food to eat in our room. Plates, cutlery, glasses etc were supplied, along with microwave. Breakfast was provided. Self serve cereal, with fruit & yoghurt , toast and preserves. Also a bowl of fresh fruit offered.

Guests in a room above us were on their balcony smoking, which infiltrated our room. We had to close all windows and doors. Would be better if the entire premises were non smoking.
