The chalet had recently been upgraded and was lovely. Stunning location with views over the sea and blow holes . Very comfortable bed and sofa , great shower , it was warm and quiet . We had a problem with the internet speed < 1 and very intermittent but to the owners credit her said we could use the internet in his cafe in town and he gave us a glass of wine to say sorry . It’s how an organisation deals with problems that sorts the good and the bad . He did well and his colleague Valerie was very helpful and understanding . We had a good evening in the cafe with a good meal and live music so we were very happy. Thankyou Patrick

The poor internet . He needs to have a chat with his tech support . The provisions were not good. No water, very little milk for tea. He also needs to provide info on the fact that there is No supermarket in the town or for miles so guests need to advance purchase .

The studio was very quiet, spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed and well-equipped kitchenette. Noted that some of the kitchenware is not the usual standard generic stuff that you find in motels but is actually quite decent quality. The bathroom was a good size, with a separate toilet. Lovely outlook from the balcony which you can sit and absorb the greenery surrounding you. The location was amazing, with a very beautiful lookout of the coastline on the motel grounds. Only a short drive to all the attractions in Punakaiki (Pancake Rocks, Blowhole, Truman Track). We had never experienced a contactless check in before but it went smoothly. We really enjoyed our stay here and were quite pleasantly surprised after having read some of the negative reviews for this motel.

Very minor issue but there was no soap in the shower recess.

Easy self check-into our comfy fresh and clean Lockwood style studio cabins. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay especially the amazing lush natural views of the stunning surroundings from our deck and the location we were in. Only a short drive away you'll find the best little quaint tavern with friendly locals and staff that serve the most tastiest fish'n'chips. Across the road from Punakaiki rocks entrance is a neat café that serve the best pancake breakfast to start your day. Our room served it's purpose for us as we visited many of the local attractions. Another highlight for us was listening to the distant ocean waves at through the night time which was like white noise for us and made for an amazing sleep with the exception of the noisy wekas outside screeching. Overall the perfect stay which we definitely plan to come back and visit again. Thank-you :-)

We really enjoyed everything that was on offer in our lovely room, however it would of been nice to of had a few more coffee sachets as we only had two and we're coffee drinkers. And the other was the soap pump dispenser wasn't working so we had to take it off each time we went to wash our hands. The liquid in the dispenser was very watery too!

Location - a bit out of the main village with twisty highway between. I wouldn’t like to walk between them but great for a car. Parking - in front of lodge. Wide and easy access Restaurants - pancake rock cafe close by in the village. Good food at a decent enough price. Staff - no contact check in and out. Super easy. WiFi speed - 69 mbps down and 39 mbps up on average and was pretty consistent Amenities - Small kitchen for basic snacks and light cooking. Bed / pillows - Large comfortable bed, plenty of pillows and blankets. Noise levels - You're in the treetops, so you're gonna get the sea, trees and nature sounds. Was awesome! Temperature - Would have been nice to have an Aircon as it did get a little hot, but overall was fine. Shower - Consistent water pressure and temp, was clean and did the job. Overall comments - Was a nice location if you have a car, very nice balcony which was the perfect place to listen to nature and read a book.

Would have been nice to have an aircon.

The lodge was very large with a beautiful balcony overlooking rainforest and large skylight across from the balcony. The kitchenette with fridge and microwave is very convenient with sparse tea and coffee selection. The bathroom is nice and spacious, however, very cold during winter months. The area is very remote and one is able to see a beautiful starry sky. Punakaiki beach and cave are within walking distance from the accommodation and quite pretty. The pancake rock cafe is a quirky little space nestled between gift shops and tourist information center, directly across the walkway that leads through rainforest to see the pancake rocks and blowholes, which is a must-see! Wi-Fi, TV and Netflix are provided and easy to use. The all-wood-lodge is quite comfortable, roomy and was a delight to stay in. We would have stayed longer if the room had been available.

The bathroom seemed a bit dated with some mould here and there. Very sparse bathroom amenities. Very cold during winter with drafty windows. The way down to the beach is a little tricky by foot since there is no real footpath. We only had one fork for two persons. No general store to stock up on food.

Beautiful cosy and spacious rooms. Great spot with a beautiful view of the coast. Super relaxing. A little bonus glow worm walk. Self check in was well organised.

It's on a main road just at a bend so feels a bit dicy to turn in to and even dicier if you want to walk anywhere from the hotel, you have to cross a road with cars hooning round the corner at 100 km/h. Loved everything else though!

We loved the view and location. The cottage had everything we needed. The self check in was stress free. It was great to have little extras like hairdryer, salt and pepper etc. We loved wildlife watching on the deck.

We had trouble with the water the first night, it turns out there was an error with the pump. Easy fix but might pay to put that in info folder for others to troubleshoot. No curtains/blinds in the front room was a bit weird/cold.

Lovely apartment which, apparently, has just been renovated. Spotlessly clean. Fantastic view (Blowhole Cottage).

The kitchen unit was missing! We were told, on checkout, that Mitre 10 had failed to deliver and would soon be rectified. There was also only one convector heater and a lack of rugs/carpet on the floor, plus very basic blinds that were already problematic to operate. Again, we were told these were to be replaced shortly. We really did love the stay but these issues probably suggest a little over priced at present.

We arrived in the night time, around 6pm after a long day driving on the rain. When we arrived we did a self check in, parked our car just in front of the cabin/hut, and entered this beautiful, warm, woody, cozy, and clean space!! We were so thrilled! It had a toilet and the shower separate, a kitchen with everything we needed to cook a nice dinner, a table with chairs, a very comfortable bed, 2 individual couches and a balcony that we did not have time to use as it kept raining in the morning, outside there was a a deck with a wooden table and chairs with sea views, absolutely stunning!!! It is really close to the Pancake Rocks, they provided a booklet with recommendations in the cabin. Please bring food with you and make sure you fill up your car as there are not many shops or gas stations close by!

The address I got provided from booking sent us to another location, luckily we were coming on that direction and when we realised that something was wrong (as it was half an hour away from pancake rocks when we knew it supposed to be closer) we went into their official website straight away and found the correct address. Everything else was absolutely perfect!!

I enjoyed every minute of my stay there. The place was tidy even though it was old. The main bedroom had such a beautiful look to it with the trees as the view. I really enjoyed the rain on that day as it felt so relaxing especially since the view was a rainforest.

If I had to choose it will only be the bathroom for me. As the door could not open properly and the shower and toilet looked really old. But this didn't bother me too much as the scenery and everything else was perfect.
