Great location, 5mins walk to the beach. Ample parking. Easy checkin. Large room (family room with ground hot tub, Room 8). Set of 4 pool towels and set of 4 bath towels (all on warmers). Kitchen was fully equipped with kettle, electric cook top, french press, microwave, refrigerator. The laundry room was next to our room, and it cost 8nzd to wash and dry. The inground tub filled with hot thermal water and cool water. There are a sweeper and pan to clean up any debris from trees before filing the tub.

The hotel swimming pool was very deep (not particularly safe for swimmers who are not strong) and was FILLED with dead mosquitoes in the water. It was quite alarming and scary. The water was quite hot and relaxing. There was some floatation devices (tubes) to help.

This is a pleasant lodge with an outdoor hot tub that was great for a private soak in the morning. Staff were friendly and responsive when we had a minor issue with the provided PayTV. The pool at the hotel is a nice size and the location is good for a stay of a few days. We loved the many things to do around the area - the highlight being Orakei Korako Cave & Geothermal Park, a 30-minute drive to the north.

As a minor criticism, ventilation in the bathroom wasn't good and it steamed up quickly. There were also patches of mould on the walls near the hot tub, reflecting the need to clean that area regularly with the steam created. The parking spots are also hard to navigate with very narrow spaces - it's probably a real challenge in the busy season. Also, it didn't help that the street was closed off for works - the property could have advised of this in advance.

I loved everything about this place. All details had been thoughtfully taken care of such as full sized hand & body wash and body creme as well as a flannel for makeup removal. A proper large bed and mattress (usually hotels have two beds pushed together) with great bedding and pillows. Very stylishly decorated and extremely comfortable. We had a great view of the lake and were able to sit outside on the deck even though it was a windy day as there was a protected area. There was a large spa bath in our bathroom that I hadn't expected as well as a beautiful heated thermal communal pool outside.

Review for The Lodge We had an amazing stay at The Lodge! The lodge had everything we needed for a comfortable and enjoyable experience. The bathroom was spacious, and having a mini pool in our own courtyard was a real treat. The thermal pools were a unique experience, though they were quite deep for my son to swim in. The beds were incredibly comfy, and the staff were exceptionally nice and accommodating. We were so excited about our stay and didn't get disappointed. We had no complaints at all and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. We will definitely be coming back!

I like that you could choose to have a spa outside or no spa. The room felt clean which is a big bonus, lots of towels as well as pool towels ready. Sorry even though I asked for your name I have forgotten it but there was a lovely, really helpful man who went out of his was to make sure my truck was in a safe spot for the night. He was so helpful & was a nice welcome to Taupo.

Nothing bad at all & not a complaint either but maybe a recommendation for future. I booked a room with a spa but realised when I got there that i would have to fill it up which wouldn't have been a problem if i had time to do it. I was there for work so didn't have any time to stay and fill it myself, maybe you could ask stayers if they would like to use the spa during their visit? Then perhaps have it filled up even a little so that it doesn't take as long? Just a suggestion.

The location was great. The spa was good.

The parking was way too tight, and unallocated. Add this to people incapable of parking entirely within the line marking, and it made it difficult. When we arrived there were three cars parked in front of our room, with no way to go around them, and insufficient room to wheel our bags between them, so I had to hold them over my head, which is not so easy. To be honest, I think you would be better placed having less parking, but more accessibility to the rooms, and some people would just have to park on the street.

Room 4 - with own outdoor pool and view. The bed was super comfy. The service was excellent as attended to a couple of concerns that cropped up. The big outdoor pool was perfect. The walk home from town was an easy twenty - thirty minutes, the walk there was longer as we stopped for a drink here and there. While there may be a little bit of work needed here and there it is obvious that these hosts are making continual improvements to make your stay enjoyable.

Hotel is easy locatable from main highway. Good location for access to town and local sights. the Lodge is situated around the corner, from the main lake side road, but from our room we did have a view of the lake. It is possible to walk into the town centre, as on the flat, but easy accessible by car. The room was of a good size, well equipped, and large private terrace with hot tub. The car park area was small, but whilst we were there we had no problem in parking. There is also room on the street. The swimming pool area was nice and the warm water both there and in the hot tub were welcome after a long drive. It is within a 10 minute walk of the Mole and Chicken pub, which is worth a visit. Overall an enjoyable experience.

Wi-Fi signal was weak and dropped out at times.

2-night What a wonderful find! The motel met every expectation and we had a wonderful stay. Booked here because of the private thermal pool, which was tremendous; we also had a private garden and a view (albeit, standing up) of the lake - which we hadn’t expected. The room (allocated the accessible option) was a great size, with an exceptionally comfy bed and everything we needed for a perfect stay. The motel team were brilliant and so helpful; nothing was ever too much trouble. I particularly liked the power outlet hub on the bedside table which had x3 USB ports, making the multiple charging requirements of this modern age simple and convenient. The local town was within walking distance for me, even needing to push my disabled wife in her wheelchair. However, I enjoy the exercise - I guess it may be a little far for some as probably close to a mile each way. In summary, very highly recommended.

Very friendly staff and lovely to have thermal pool on site. Cleaners did great job polite and friendly and topped up toiletries etc. daily. plenty towels and fresh towels everyday

Small Thermal pool in outside area of unit was difficult get in and out of and was surprised motel was not required to have it covered when not in use. Cannot really see benefit of having this pool as larger pool was lovely would be better to have nice garden area.
