Loved Hosteria de Anita! The staff were amazing - they held our luggage for us while we did an overnight trip to Machu Picchu, and they gave us good information about the area. The location is great, right near the best restaurants and close to the main square. The breakfast is outstanding - loads of choice and eggs made to order! Best breakfast of our trip so far! Good value for money. Water available to purchase at reception. The hotel itself is lovely - gorgeous courtyard for chilling out.

Two things to note - the rooms are cold. There is a heating panel but it only comes on from 7pm-7am. So if you’re in your room in the day it’s chilly. Also it’s good to know that taxis can’t stop outside the hotel, as it’s only accessible via about 40 steps up from the street!

Really well mantained rooms and property in the old city of Cusco Had a 2 nights stay in a room at the second floor. The room was very clean, spacious and looked very rustic and simple, but in a good way. I have appreciated the fact that they have cleaned our room after the first night. The breakfast was great. Various fruits and vegetables, pancakes, jams, natural juices, eggs etc. The communication was very easygoing and they also help us with taxi pickup and luggage deposit. Overall: it has exceeded our expectations! Thank you!

The inner garden was very beautiful and well maintained. My room had big beautiful windows and the room itself was the most spacious I've stayed in Cusco (I tried 2 other hotels). I like how there was a heater because it could get cold at night. The bed and pillows were comfortable and I love how you don't hear the noisy streets. The breakfast was fresh and the chefs were very friendly!

You have to walk up a flight of stairs to get to this hotel because it's not on a main street- I was okay with that but some people may not be if they have accessibility needs. The lighting itself was a bit dim so it was hard to tell if the room was indeed clean or not but what peeved me was that instead of installing hooks in the bathroom to hang the towels, they put the towels on the toilet. The water pressure for the shower was good but it takes a long time for the water to get hot. I was on the first floor and you can hear EVERYTHING from the second floor (e.g. people walking, pulling out a chair, sneezing) so if you're a light sleeper, try to get a room on the second floor.

We stayed at this hotel for a total of 8 nights. The location is great, it is set back from the street so there is no street noise, or disco noise. Very close to the Main Square plus the area itself is very arty. Beautiful shops. We found numerous great restaurants. The setting is very nice and calming with two nice courtyards. Hot water & tea / coffee available during the day. Breakfast was lovely with a beautiful dining area. Eggs cooked on demand. The staff at the hotel are wonderful. Loved it! We booked the Sacred Valley tour through the hotel, not only was the price excellent, but the tour ended up being once of the best we had during our stay. Highly recommend booking tours through the hotel. Be aware, there are 56 steps up from the main street to get to the hotel, it looks daunting, especially at Cusco elevation. But, the entire city of Cusco is steps and steep hills. The steps turned out not be a big deal. Hotel staff, or the taxi drivers were more than willing to help carry heavy luggage.

Thin walls, just like every other place in Cusco, so you may hear people in neighboring rooms.

The room was very clean and comfortable and the ambiance of the whole place was really nice. Breakfast was amazing; really tasty and with a lot of variety. The location is good since it's close to la Plaza de Armas and the San Blas neighborhood so it's easy to arrive and the surroundings are beautiful.

The only inconvenience for me was that taxis could only drop us a block away from there because the hostería is on a pedestrian street and the closest entrance to it is going about 2 floors upstairs. It wasn't too much, but those stairs were killer to climb with our luggage when we were first getting used to the altitude. Nevertheless, our stay there was completely worth it and we actually reserved for a couple extra nights when we came back to Cusco after visiting other cities.

Beautiful garden, nice breakfast choice, good amenities, heated rooms, very good water pressure and temperature in the shower, comfortable bed, good location, free tea around the clock. The staff was easy-going and the daily cleaning was a really nice touch, too.

The access to the hotel is through ~40 steps - no way to get in front of the door with a taxi. This could be an issue if you have lots of luggage or if you have any mobility issues (or if you’re suffering from altitude sickness). The staff didn’t offer any help with the luggage.

We had an unforgettable stay at Hosteria de Anita! The property is located in a beautiful, central, yet quiet space and the views from our window were mesmerising! The property is located only 5 min walk from one of the main roads, and max. 10 minutes walk from town. All the tours were able to pick us up from the accommodation and we were able to explore the town very easily. There are loads of restaurants, shops, and museums a short walk away from the accommodation. Additionally, the day that we went to Machu Picchu, we chose to get the train from San Pedro Station which was only 20 minutes walk from where we were staying, which was very helpful. The staff were also brilliant throughout our stay and were always happy to help! The breakfast was really good as well and there was loads of fresh fruit, veggies and bread for us every day, with eggs cooked on request. The accommodation also had a fresh thermal flask full of mate de coca always available for those who felt uncomfortable with the altitude. The bedroom was really comfortable and the bed was also really good. In the evenings the temperature dropped quite a bit, so they had a heater and additional sheet in the bedroom that we were able to use as well. We would definitely recommend this accommodation to all of our friends back home!

The only thing to notice is that there are quite a few steps to get to the accommodation (included in pictures), and the taxi will drop you at the bottom of these. We struggled to carry our suitcases up these stairs, especially because of the altitude. When we checked in we were told that someone could have helped us, which we didn't know, so make sure you let them know that you would like some help to get there if you have heavy cases.

Very affordable and close to Plaza de Armas. Free breakfast in the morning and within walking distance of restaurants, convenience stores, clothing stores and souvenir shops. Room service is available on a daily basis if needed. They will also store you luggage if you need to go somewhere else for a few days.

Dragging a 25kg suitcase up a steep flight of steps from the main street in high altitude was a struggle, but there's no other way to get to the hostel. Unless you have help, this is likely to be a struggle for some people. Would also be good if there were extra blankets in the room as it did get quite cold some nights.

The hotel is in a good location and the staff are really friendly and helpful. I had a really nice room with a good size bathroom and the pretty courtyard and views make it a lovely place to stay. Breakfast was good and the hotel will pack you food from very early if you're heading out on a trip.

Its not a dislike but just something I wish I'd known: there's two ways get to the hotel which is on a narrow pedestrian road. One is walking along the pedestrian road from the far end or climbing stairs at the end near the hotel. Most taxis will drop you by the steps but if you advise the hotel, they'll send people to help with the luggage if you've just arrived at altitude, or ask the taxi to drop you near the entrance to the pedestrian road and walk down.

Beautiful place and decoration, very good location close to Plaza de Armas. Room was big with lots of closet space. Confortable bed and there was a heater in the room to help with the cold Cusco nights. Bathroom was also good with nice hot water. Room and bathroom were cleaned everyday. Good breakfast with toast, avocado, cheese, pancakes, honey, eggs and more. Coca tea available around the clock to help with your acclimation. Super nice and helpful staff that saved me by arranging a last minute taxi to the airport and loading my luggage in the trunk while I was getting back from a tour that was delayed. If not by them I would have missed my flight home. Recommend to anyone!

Minor complaint is that the bathroom would start to smell a little bit, like something coming from the drains. After the staff cleaned the bathroom the smell would go away but eventually it got back everynight.
