This place had so much to offer that there really was no need to go far which is great with small kids. Our kids loved it as did we. Apartments are spacious and well layed out with everything you really need. The transfer service is easy to set up from the airport to and form as well as the old town and provided carseats the whole time. Totally stress free.

The only thing I might mention is that the bar food at the pool as lovely as it was would be nice if they offer veg/fruit of sorts or healthier options rather than just fried food. We had our kids there all day and there wasn't much option for some fresh fruit for our 1, 3 and 5 year olds. The was really it. Everything else was great.

Very good location, close proximity to the beach and the center of the city. Plenty of dining options at the hotel and in the vicinity. We stayed at the Apartments but you are permitted access to other properties such as Alfagar Village as well. Special shoutout to the Buganvilia restaurant which we visited multiple times as both the food and service there was exceptional. Plenty of options for entertaining the kids too. Magic shows, open mic nights, a football field, dedicated kids pool with slides, outdoor play areas etc

Couple of quirks such as having to pay 5 Euros for a beach/pool towel rental. Also when they say ‘heated pool’ it wasn’t the pool itself that was heated but the structure (which resembles a greenhouse) that is heated so the feel was of a sauna which also houses a rather cold swimming pool. One big disappointment was the buffet dining restaurant (Oliveria I think was the name). We went for the Asian night but were utterly disappointed. Food quality was more akin to cheap Asian takeout. Worst part however was the cutlery. The glasses in particular had a horrible smell to them.

I loved the view from the balcony and the location. I thought that the beach near the hotel was better than the famous Praia do Camilo, at least during the time we visited at the end of June. I also liked the mini market/store they have at the facilities, which comes in handy when you need something or want some snacks. This is a very kid-friendly hotel, so it was ideal for our family vacation.

My family didn't like that the pool closed too early at 7 pm. You won't find food late at night at the hotel, so be prepared to go elsewhere to eat. A couple of items were taken from our lounge chairs while we were in the pool, and that was unexpected.

Very quite location near to new town which is couple of miles away. Rooms were clean and to my expectation. Pools were very good. Beach view from room is fantastic but beach is at a distance from resort. Again there are many beaches to view nearby.

1. Aparthotel buffet dinner and breakfast area was very near to the toilets with open doors and smell most of the time when having dinner or breakfast or passing by. 2. Requested for tissue paper/toilet rolls on reception at 22:00 as nearby markets closed and was reassured that will be delivered but did not hear anything till morning.

-Lovely new self catering apartments -Nice pools -Great setup for kids -Gorgeous food in poolside bar “La Cafeteria” -2min walk to local Spar shop. -5min walk to nice local Italian restaurant “Portobello”

-Found some staff on desk at reception little bit rude. -Beach at rear of property not suitable for families to access with Buggy / Strollers. -Location is 10min taxi to Albufeira Old Town. Not much to do around surrounding area outside resort.

Great facilities, family friendly, very clean, staff very helpful. Access to the beach. Old town a few mins in a taxi. Shop on site small but has all the basics reasonably priced. Apartments were well equipped and very clean

Really good holiday at the Alfragar complex. We stayed in the prestige building which was really nice, everything felt new and really clean. Great size room with separate kitchen/lounge area. Hotel facilities were great, lots of pools, playgrounds for the children. The pools were very clean, the new one by prestige felt like it was heated as it was quite warm and there was a great pool with a cover over it which was very warm on slightly cooler days. Buganville and The Cafeteria restaurants were very good. Burganville was great in the evening with live music and right next to the park so children could play whilst we watched the entertainment. Everything around the complex was very clean. The complex feels like a little village, with beautiful gardens/walkways. About 10 min walk down the cliff to the beach, its a tricky walk and not suitable for buggys etc but you can walk via the main road/drive there if needed, the beach was really nice and perfect for kids. We did visit the pool at the Colina hotel too and it was useful to have an additional option but I would say the Alfragar Village/Prestige buildings are nicer for staying in. Daytime entertainment team were good and very friendly, although as we stayed early June it wasn't very clear what was on during the day or when/where kids club was but I do think this could be because we were staying before holiday season had really started. Wifi worked really well, TV channels were very limited but our kids just watched their Ipads instead when we were in the room. Location was good, spar and chemist just over the road, and a few bars / restaurants along the main road, 10 mins walk or so. We hired a car for a week from the hotel and visited other places like vilamoura/vale do lobo etc for dinner which suited us better. We also booked the dolphin/cave and zoomarine trips through the hotel which were slightly cheaper than booking online/direct. Would visit again for sure.

Clearer information on kids club not just activities that were ongoing. The gym not opening until 9am wasnt ideal, would be better if it opened earlier. Spa/sauna not open during our stay.

Room was so clean and modern, lots of pools for the kids

Very little kids entertainment, anywhere we have ever stayed has always had entertainment every evening, was shocked this didn't, especially because of the size of the resort!

lovely hotel. loads of swimming pools to choose from so super handy for kids. It was a bit cooler when we went so the outdoor covered pool was a nice touch. 2 nice restaurants which we ate at twice, food was good. reception staff were very friendly. apartment was a really good size and well equipped to cook basic meals. they also have little common areas in the hallways where people that are leaving leave all sorts of handy stuff like pool floats, buckets, balls, suncream and books etc so well worth checking these areas before buying new!! I would definitely return.

there was only one outdoor light on the balcony, which was outside the bedroom rather than the sitting room end. my daughter tripped over the tile to carpet bits in the hallway quite a bit, so this may need looking at.

Very nice apartment with fantastic view (we stayed at 5th floor) and good selection in breakfast buffey.

Only negative for us was that we have 2 teenagers with us and the pool table and pingpong was not working, and you need to pay extra to use entertainment stuff, also for the tennis court. And to use the Sauna, it cost extra and you need to book at the reception (it is not good enough to call from your room) pick up keys later in the reception before you enter the Sauna (and the reception is in other house) and return at the reception which was both time-consuming and uncomfortable (3 times at the reception to use the Sauna and 2 times in your rope). Anyway I hope the hotel finds a better solution for that and entertainment for kids and teenagers, because the hotel is very nice :)
