EVERYTHING!! If I could give it a 12 rating, I would! Marianna asSO kind and accommodating. Ur cabin was so private and the view from the deck was spectacular. This place far exceeded our expectations. We did the charcuterie board with the wine tasting. Board was HUGE. We took the rest to our room and had brought a salad with us and that was dinner. Room was very well equipped including a wash cloth for the N Americans! Pool was lovely. So peaceful on our deck listening to roosters and fogs bathing and church bells from the village across the valley. I left our travel journal behind and Marianna found it and sent me pics of all of the pages so that I could transcribe!!. I can't say enough. Omg the breakfast! Out of this world!

We loved it so much that we tried to extend for another night but sadly, it was full. I am joking that this was a bad thing- clearly it is popular for a reason. Stay here!!!

This is an unbelievably beautiful quinta. The views from the hotel (and the excellent pool); the extremely friendly and attentive staff; the breakfast, wines, and charcuterie; complementary coffee/tea, fruit, cookies and port wine at all times of the day; the peace and quiet; the room (ours with a sundeck and very comfortable chairs); an AC that works very well. Everything was essentially perfect. We stayed here for 6 nights and didn't want to leave. I can't recommend this place highly enough.

Absolutely nothing.

Very friendly staff, lovely view, great breakfast Nice swimming pool, a bit cool but very nice. Restaurants at top of valley in Armamar are a relatively short 5 minute drive, albeit twisty, and are very good.

The Douro Valley is very deep and steep so road up to the Quinta is a bit challenging. Quinta is possibly 1,000 feet up from river which was a bit more than I expected. Road is in good shape, just very twisty.

Built into the hills of the Douro, this small hotel is well-kept and comfortable and the views were breathtaking. The buffet breakfast and snacks were tasty. The staff was courteous and helpful, giving us excellent restaurant recommendations. Hope to return someday.

Because it's such a small hotel, there was a limited window for check-in.

The people running to Quinta are very nice. They do a fantastic job with breakfast, which included breads, croissants, homemade jams, yogurt, fruit plate, eggs and bacon. The bathroom was spacious. The pool and property are beautiful and look just like the photos.

The coffee was not good. The bed was hard. There were only sheer curtains in our room (Touriga Nacional) so the light came in the room brightly and very early, making it difficult to sleep in at all. Our room also required the use of one set of stairs so just be mindful if you have luggage or mobility limitations.

Amazing place! Gorgeous view, quiet, peaceful and beautiful. U hear birds and only! The young man named Rodrigo is very attentive, friendly does his best to make your stay comfortable! There are a lot of tables where u can sit with a bottle of wine( yours or his- he sells it for a very low price for a hotel) and chat, relax. Breakfast is fantastic!! The place is highly recommended! Will definitely stay there again if coming to the Douro valley!!

The view and remoteness was just what we wanted. Very peaceful and we enjoy relaxing by the pool in the afternoons. Lovely evening meal at the local Village of Armamar. Definitely need your own car to get around. Breakfast was plentiful and varied. The 2 Mountain View suite rooms separate from the main house were perfect . Private with your own deck and gorgeous views.

A few steps to pool and steep path access to the separate suite rooms, which were only a problem with older guests who are less mobile.

The rooms were very clean and nice, good size and comfortable. We had a room next to the pool, amazing balcony and view of Douro. Breakfast was super nice, always warm bread and pastries, staff super friendly. Great wines that you can use at any time. Definitely recommend for a couple gateway and family as well, since they have a great pool and area around it.

Excellent breakfast. Friendly helpful staff. Good quality furnishings. Very quiet location, only accessible by car. Restaurants available at the next village only 5 minutes away.

Room not occupied since last autumn and could have been pre-warmed. Pillow too high and firm. Serious problem with condensation in the bathroom, making the floor slippery.

Wonderful breakfast in a room with view We have made to order egg and bacon,a basket full of yummy bread,a beautiful fruit plate and a plateful of pastries.No to mention a cheese and cold cut, 3 different of juices, coffee,tea,and yogurt on and on...And the lady working there is SO NICE,always smiling
