Having read some of the reviews of this outstanding hotel situated amongst the rolling hills of the Douro valley, I find it absolutely astonishing some of the negativity towards such a wonderful place. Property is surrounded by its own vineyards that produce magnificent wine some of which we sampled with dinner, complemented by the cuisine which is chosen from seasonal availability. Once the sun goes down, you can retire to your balcony under the stars listening to the crickets and wildlife that surround such a beautiful countryside. The property has a pool for your early morning dip or days sunbathing, which is a fantastic way to start your day, especially if you are continuing your travel along this splendid valley. Definitely recommended.

We had a very good stay here. Room was comfortable and had a great shower. Rooftop pool was small, but good for a cooling dip. Bar served drinks to the rooftop so you could relax. The restaurant was good, I like that the menu was small and changed daily. Nice views over the vineyards (yes there are pylons but it didn't hamper our experience). We only spent a night here and we probably wouldn't stay longer, but suited our need.

Staff seemed surprised and reluctant to do anything when I told them there was a huge stain on the bedsheets on our arrival (turns out it was suncream stain, which doesn't come out in the wash, but nonetheless was not a particularly great first impression!)

Everything was as expected and above. The hotel and location are a great experience.

Just three small notes: • The room blackouts don't really work and we were awaken by sunlight at first dawn. Had to use t-shirts to cover our faces since we had nothing else. • The pool was lovely with it's amazing views but it was extremely warm. We were there in a very hot day (around 40°) and the pool was not refreshing at all, very warm and a little bit unpleasant. • The food and wine in the restaurant were amazing, lovely taste, lovely presentation but the prices were a bit high for what we had. Besides these we absolutely loved the experience and would definitely return in another trip to the Douro valley.

The hotel was simply amazing - more than we expected. The staff did everything to assist. The location was nothing short of breath taking. But to get there, do not rely totally on Google Maps which took us along some very very narrow roads, when later we found out that there was a much shorter and better route. Nevertheless, from the main road, the hotel is down a short but very narrow path. But it was all definitely worth it.

There was nothing that could have been better. We just wished we could have stayed longer.

Cool area to visit, even though the drive on the one way windy roads up the hillside through the steep vineyards was a little scary. It’s all in the adventure…I’d advise others to plan to arrive several hours before sunset. Once in place the facility was wonderful. Plan to stay in for dinner as the property has delicious meal options served with their own wine available. The breakfast was very good with a lot of bread choices and made to order eggs.

More signage is needed to direct areas for the 3 separate parking spaces available.

Views from the hotel are amazing - right across the Douro valley. The rooms are very comfortable (though a little dark). Beds are very comfortable - we slept really well. Breakfast was excellent - lots of choice, very good quality and dishes constantly replenished.

Food was a little disappointing - dinner only (breakfast was excellent as mentioned above). There wasn't a lot of choice for dinner and standard was fairly mediocre. We stayed for 3 nights and ate in at the hotel on 2 of those nights and the menu was the same on both evenings.

Quinta de Casaldronho's modern design situated in a vineyard with views across the Duoro valley and Regua was delightful. The room was compact, yet comfortable. We enjoyed a simple, but somewhat more expensive dinner at the hotel. (We were glad not to be driving the twisty hillsides at night.) The staff were quite friendly and helpful.

The facilities were all very clean and spacious. The staff upgraded us as we are on our honeymoon and the suite was beautiful and very private. The pool deck is so beautiful with such an amazing landscape surrounding the Quinta!

The wifi was too weak to stream Formula 1 but there are enough other activities on site you don;t need screentime!

Very peaceful environment to relax and be with the environment. Also very romantic getaway for the couples who loves nature and wine. Room is very comfy. There is a balcony that you can enjoy the view, can watch sunset. They have all you need for your stay. Breakfast was very fresh and well prepared. Many options for many tastes.

Our room door was opening and didn't find a way to unlock the door. Air-conditioner might require a maintenance due to working loudly. Not too much but still damaging the ambiance of relaxation. For dinner, not sure it was related with the low season but there was no option and the food was unfortunately not matching with the awesomeness of the environment. The feeling was "expensive diária" like you can find on coffeeshops rather than a luxurious facility. We had uncooked puff pastry that we sent twice. So if you have a chance to have dinner outside, please do so. Will assure you to find better local options with higher quality.

The property was modern and the scenery was absolutely beautiful! The room was clean and with a great view. It was a really peaceful stay, with attentive staff. We ate dinner at their restarant which served hugh quality food. Their breakfast was also great. A big plus that we were surprised about, was that they had a cable for charging e-cars at the parking!
