I was very surprised with my stay at Hotel Sirius. The beds were very Comfortable, I travelled with my Grandmother and my two year old son. The hotel is located in the city of Funchal and we walked most of the time to where we needed to go. The lido (pools) were a 40 minute walk from the hotel or a 8 minute taxi. The Wifi sometimes disconnected but mostly was fine. The balcony was great to have. There was a little noise from outside but this did not disturb my two year old son when he was sleeping so it was okay. The breakfast was simple but nice to have included as when I was searching for somewhere to stay most places did not offer breakfast at the price we paid to stay at Hotel Sirius. We stayed here for 9 nights and was very satisfied. They have a restaurant next door also call Sirius which was very cheap. You can find lots of cheap places to eat if you just find the right spots and search around. All of the staff were extremely helpful and the cleaners cleaned the room really well, it was nice to come back after a long day out to a nice and clean room. The TV worked and entertained my son for a while whilst I got ready. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you for a lovely stay!

The hotel could provide some fruit within the breakfast section but I bought some of my own at a near by market

The staff was absolutely lovely and the location was great. It's an old style hotel but it was nice and clean. Good water pressure in the shower. Breakfast included was very handy, you could take your pick from cereal, toast, bread, ham and cheese, yoghurt etc. So we always started the day well fed. There's also a vending machine at the entrance which was handy since we checked in very late. Also there's always someone in reception so the late check in wasn't an issue at all.

There were only three parking spots which were always taken, parking had been one of the main points in choosing that hotel so that didn't quite work out. On the other hand there's a few paid parking options around so it wasn't tragic. Also the room was quite warm, thankfully there was a fan in the room which made the stay more comfortable but still a bit stuffy.

Fantastic central location in the Old Town with little hill climbing and close to amenities. Supermarket, coffee shops and ice cream shops within a minute's walk. Beds firm but comfortable. Room cleaned daily and towels changed. Hotel restaurant was excellent value, quality food and good service. Lift operated swiftly with very little delay. Unusually high temperature and humidity for the time of year so was grateful for the fan in the room. Staff were friendly and very helpful.

Upon arrival around 10pm I found the bedding hadn't been changed but the receptionist asked me to pop in the bar for a drink while it was sorted. Breakfast is very basic but was functional and in keeping with the 2* rating and price. You could supplement the breakfast easily if you want with supermarket items.

Location, location, location! In the heart of Funchal with easy access everywhere, just brilliant. The staff was lovely and very helpful. It's a bit oldschool hotel but in my opinion it's a much better experience of Madeira together with locals who also stay and dine there, than all those touristy same looking ugly hotel blocks in the west part of Funchal. Nothing can also beat the restaurant in the hotel. Even if the interior doesn't look encouraging at first glance, food is fresh and tasty at much lower prices than in the city centre. We recommend Sirius 👌

There's no air-conditioning in the rooms and that is the disadvantage in fact. We were on the 5th floor and it was so stuffy. We only managed to get the fan at the end of our stay and it was fine afterwards.

The staff was nice, and the room we stayed in was clean and they did clean our rooms everyday if we wanted to.

You don’t have space for parking the car, they have 3 parking spaces and almost everytime they are occupied. We were able to park there only 2 times out of 11 days we stayed there. The breakfast was basic, everyday the same thing, but for the price of the hotel i don t blame them

The roof terrace and sun deck had a lovely view of the hills of Funchal. Great value for money. Parking was limited but we managed to park most nights and they even helped manoeuvre the car out of the garage for me. The restaurant attached had good menu of typical local dishes and very low prices.

Could do with some refurbishing. Breakfast could be improved slightly.

Location was great. Room was clean. Staff were reasonably friendly and answered my queries. They were also nice enough to let me extend my checkout by a couple of hours as the tour vehicle was delayed.

Breakfast had very little options (only bread and cheese), especially for vegetarians (I understand that madeira's cuisine is predominantly non-vegetarian. The second room I was shifted to did not have a fan.

What a great little find this hotel was. Our 1 night stay at Hotel Sirius was absolutely great. It's a budget hotel so you get what you pay for. The staff were great and so friendly and welcoming. Great value food served in the bar or restaurant and a lovely morning breakfast. We will be going back to the hotel for an evening meal before we leave Madeira.

Central location, clean room, nice balcony space, no air on but fan provided, staff very helpful & friendly, breakfast was good, yogurt, coffee, bread, cheese & ham. Good value for money.

A very noisy party of revellers in the adjacent restaurant, when I arrived for a late check in on Saturday night, they did move on as the receptionist predicted.

Staff of the hotel were really nice, breakfast included, great location and really nice rooftop, The Hotel is nice old fashioned and for us had everything that we needed, really recommend if you want to stay in central Funchal with good price

Rooms were a bit too hot some days/nights, so air conditioning could have been better
