Well what can I say. The village is wonderful. Such a unique experience to stay there. I stayed in Casa do Sol and it was perfect. Loved having the upstairs balcony. Had everything you needed for self catering but they do have a lovely cafe and Carole and Lily were so friendly. They were the two staff I saw every day I was there but everyone was so friendly. Breakfast was perfect every morning and Lily made the most amazing cakes each day I was there. The is also a small, gallery/shop (albeit quite limited) so if like me you used public transport to get there you do need to pick up provisions before you get there. Easy enough to do by public transport (I came from Porto so train, bus and taxi) so don't let not having a car put you off going!! The staff are happy to call the taxi company to arrange pick up as unless you speak Portuguese it can be a bit tricky to get a taxi. I was lucky enough to do the minature schist house building course with Rita and it was a perfect way to end my holiday .. and the house survived the trip back in my suitcase. Many thanks to you all.

We had the most delightful stay! The property is beautifully maintained, blending rustic charm with modern comforts, and offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside. The rooms were cozy, clean, and thoughtfully decorated, ensuring we had a comfortable and restful stay. We especially loved waking up to the soft sounds of nature and enjoying breakfast on the terrace, and dipping in the cold pool. we can’t wait to return. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful and authentic Portuguese village experience!

The restoration of the village has been beautifully and thoughtfully conducted. It was a surprise to us just how good the facilities were, from the café, traditional meals served to your residence and great quality local arts and crafts. The staff are especially helpful and attentive, which made our stay all the more memorable. Highly recommended!
Not a criticism at all of the village, rather the reality that is the incredible location and the road up to the village. Quite steep and winding for a nervous driver!

Everything about the place is hard to describe with words. From the first time you drive into and see that little village to the checkout, we feel like we are completely in awe. The location is great if you want to rest, hike, read a book, disconnect, or even if you want a quiet place to stay while you explore the area. The houses are very tastefully decorated and the spirit of the village lives in every little detail. The cafe under the wine tree is super cute and the smell of the grapes is what we will remember from our whole stay. The staff is very attentive overall and super friendly. We are definitely going back! Oh, and you hear deers, crickets, owls, and who knows what else at night! Deers might even walk just under your window :)
We had 2 single beds merged into a double but that was the only available house we could have. The mattresses themselves were not very comfortable for our taste - they were too hard. The house (das vizinhas) had little natural light on the first floor. We wanted to book activities and there was a slight lack of communication but overall the staff was great anyway.

The natural beauty and loving, masterful restoration of a piece of Portuguese history in a way that’s meaningful for the current generations. Beyond this, the accommodation was comfortable, inviting rest and reflection. Staff were present but unobtrusive and genuinely loved meeting guests and sharing knowledge about the property, history, and current artists/workshops.
There was nothing we didn’t like. For us, it was a little slice of heaven on earth.

A very nice village and the place is beautiful and well rebuilt. It is quite unique and loved to see the wild deer walk around the village and all the nature feel. Breakfast is very good with many local products.
There is a demand for a deposit that you must pay upon arrival which is not stated anywhere when you are booking the room.

Breakfast was great! Team was incredibly hospitable and easy going. Also the home-cooked meal we pre-ordered for the night we arrived was one of the best meals we had while roadtripping throughout all of portugal for two weeks, hands down. Don't skip the homemade dinner!
Supplies to build fires could be enhanced a bit - our unit indeed had cut firewood in it but no matches/lighter, no kindling or paper to start, and no hatchet or similar to try and create our own kindling using the logs. We made it work all the same, (had to get creative) but I think future guests may appreciate a bit more in the fire supplies :)

Loved the care and attention of the village restoration. Do read the story of Cerdeira in the welcome guide in your room. It’s the first welcome guide that I read back to back. An incredible story behind Cerdeira village! Loved the afternoon sunset at our beautiful balcony. Definitely recommend to travelers who appreciate real tranquility in a model example of ancient village restoration.

Hard to describe in words such an amazing place , amazing houses - amazing staff . One of the best and more magical places I’ve been in this world . I can only recommend - GO - GO - GO and stay here at least once in life and experience all that this team and place have put together. Just a big hands up to everyone that put this project / hotel / village together and being keeping this space immaculately perfect .

Absolutely stunning everything! The views, the village and the accommodation were all stunning. One of the best locations we stayed on our Portugal trip. Could only stay one night but so glad we did.
the walls are surprisingly thin and we could hear everything from the neighboring room. Luck of the draw when you travel but it was an unfortunate surprise.
