The friendly team, design style, location, restaurant, rooftop bar, pool and food are all great

Not enough drawer storage in our bedroom. The breakfast tea was disappointing (try Yorkshire Tea and you’d get 10/10), the coffees (even the cappuccino, latte, etc) weren’t great either. The light and mirror arrangement in our room was so poor that my wife had to do her makeup stood outside. The hotel is on a steep hill and there are many steps inside and out which didn’t affect us, but it could rule out anyone with mobility issues. And finally, there is a lot of road noise and traffic from the bus station opposite, which is to be expected from a town centre hotel.

A really good location, a 5 minute walk to the centre of town and 15 minute walk to the ferry for the beach. The bed is massive and comfortable. The room itself is very boutique but not over the top. The breakfast is really good, with fresh ingredients and substantial portions. The pool isn't huge but is big enough. Its heated which we didn't need while we were there 35c outside but sure it makes a difference in the shoulder season.

The hotel is missing some basics, there isn't an iron in the room there is only the laundry service. The room didn't bedside table which is fine but would have been useful. The paint around the pool was a bit tired and peeling.

The Hotel is in a great location only a few minutes walk from the town centre. It takes less than 10 minutes to walk to catch the ferry to Tavira Island and only a short bus ride or taxi ride to Cabanas and Santa Luzia. The Hotel was beautiful and so stylish and serene. Definitely, one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The hospitality was amazing and the staff so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was really superb with a brilliant variety available and served on the terrace. I can't recommend this Hotel highly enough!

Far and away my best accommodation over the last 2.5 weeks in Portugal (and I was staying in 4 and 5 star hotels). Picture an old, historical mansion left vacant for decades. The new owners spent 3 years carefully keeping the old "bones" but modernizing it for savvy, contemporary guests and adding a design aesthetic which is bold yet pleasing and comfortable. Add a beautiful pool and deck area, excellent meals, kind and service-oriented owners and staff, and you have an experience to remember.

Nothing. Some travellers may be put off by the bus terminal across the street but the sound of the Colegio's water feature blocks most of any noise. Not an issue for me.

Rather different but WONDERFUL. A great experience, quite different from anywhere else I have stayed. The staff were very attentive and looked after us very well indeed.

We had to leave early our last morning to catch an early flight from Faro. Therefore we missed the exceptional breakfast on our last day. The hotel made up a packed breakfast to take with us but it was made up the night before so not quite as fresh as it might have been. This was our only criticism. Given many guests might be flying out of Faro Airport early, I think this is something the hotel might look to improve on.

Absolutely stunning property with several gorgeous terraces and pool area. Amazing breakfasts with cute little chef specials each morning, and all of the staff were really friendly and helpful.

The vibe of the hotel is extremely calm and relaxing which we absolutely loved. However, this was unfortunately ruined for us on our second day when a family with two children arrived, as they were screaming and loudly kicking balls and playing at the pool area where the rest of the adults were trying to have a peaceful time. We thought that children should not really be allowed as this ruined the whole ambience that the hotel worked so hard to achieve.

Almost absolutely everything . In particular the exceptionally friendly and helpful people. The pool was just lovely to have . Rooms comfy although if I’d gone with a friend I wouldn’t have liked the lack of privacy with the shower and toilet set up. Loved the quirkiness . Great to have cake always available.

The menu for dinner . Food was disappointing at dinner. Asked for a small plate of cheese rather than a big platter and I wasn’t allowed. Asked for something off the snack menu. Wasn’t allowed. The starters were delicious as was the lbv port I had with dessert. Mains were poor imo. Tough duck one night. Very cold out of the fridge mushrooms with steak another. We had better food in town but the surroundings were better than elsewhere. This was the only reason we didn’t give this place 10/10. We loved it overall.

The staff were so helpful. I booked the romantic dinner and we had such a lovely time, our 2 waitresses were discreet but always there. Breakfast was amazing, so much so we invited our local friends to come. Loved the individuality of the toons. Location was well situated only a few minutes walk from the main square. It is opposite the bus station but we had no problems with noise. The rooftop area was fantastic with a great view. We stayed in Marrakech room and would book that room again

Absolutely nothing. I’d researched our stay and was really worried it wouldn’t live up to expectations. It did. My only comment would be the frosted part of the toilet door needs to be a little lower…

The breakfast included was very good and all the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. We arrived a few hours before checkin to drop our bags off which was no issue and we were offered breakfast while we where there at no additional cost. Food and drinks in the accommodation were great and it was a 5 minute stroll from the centre of Tavira. Rooms were clean and the housekeeping was exceptional. It has a lovely roof terrace with great views and they offer different activities on site e.g. yoga, wine tastings. Whilst the pool was relatively small, some rooms come with their own private pool. There is a huge beach a 15 minute ferry trip away which is recommended.

Beautiful hotel, very nice room, comfortable bed, excellent dinner and breakfast, very welcoming staff.

This is quite a spectacular hotel but I have to say….The bathroom was strange with a tiny sink made of rock that had toothpaste stains in all the crevasses and no where to place toiletries. Also strange that staff went into my room without telling me after I had just checked in and left the room to go to the beach. I had just gone into the office to ask about the boat ride to the beach and no one let me know that someone was going to go in my room. My things were moved around blinds were closed and candles lit. Not sure why that wasn’t done before I checked in…
