Great Location, very Central to the City Center and Harbor. Very quiet rooms, nice pool and small good equipped gym. Great breakfast buffet. Tasty coffee variations, fresh fruits, cereals, different breads and croissants, cheese and ham, vegetables.

Morning at the hotel: Piano Player starts at 8am and you can hear it slightly in your room. It’s not heavy metal, so it’s nice wake up music. Breakfast: breakfast area appears very crowded because tables and chairs are too close to each other (to the neighbor tables) and towards the buffet. If a guest is going to take a plate ore bread, it may appear, that he’s almost sitting on your bosom. Parking: Explained parking fee in Q&A were not transparent upon our arrival. - underground parking off season hotel price: 12€/24h. Main season underground parking hotel price: 24€/24h. - recommendation: top up daily room fee to cover underground parking.

The hotel is truly beautiful, featuring lovely common areas and modern rooms. Its location is excellent, situated in the historical center of Viana. Breakfast offers abundant variety and is served in an elegant room, accompanied by live music, which greatly enhances the overall experience.

The staff seemed inadequately trained, which detracted from the overall experience. Our check-in process took more than 30 minutes, primarily due to the receptionist in glasses who was extremely slow and unprofessional, struggling to determine if the room was ready (check-in is from 14:00, and we arrived at 14:40). The breakfast area was overcrowded, with tables situated too close to one another and the food stations, causing guests to disturb each other while passing and selecting food. The shower lacked a curtain or glass partition, causing water to spill onto the floor and leave it wet. The experience of staying in this hotel had the potential to be magical if it weren't for the shortcomings of the employees and management.

The breakfast was great with a great piano player. The location was central to the old town with shops, restaurants, harbor, not far from the train and bus station, not far to the beach or to the ferry across to an amazing beach area. We rented a car and saw many areas around north Portugal using the great highway system and trains. Douro Valley Tour, Guimaraes, Parque Nacional da Penda-Geres, Lindoso, Porto, Braga, Pont de Lima, and Valenca were all great to visit from this central base. What we like was that Viana Do Castelo was clean, had a great central area, near the beaches, easy to drive in and out of, less touristy and great for hiking.

The beach was a little windy, cool and very large waves. This was great for walking, cycling and so on but not for going in the water. That is okay since there was a lot to visit, see, hike and do.

The hotel is very beautiful and really cozy. The bedroom is nice and the beds are really comfortable. The breakfast has a lot of variety, is tasty and has live piano as background (and the staff gave us a really nice surprise during it ☺️). The spa and pool are relaxing and offer a range of things. It is a really really nice hotel, to repeat for sure!!!

The dislocation from the room to the spa and swimming pool is a little long and uncomfortable, passing through the reception (the entrance) and it is a little cold. The space could have more lounge chair. It is not a bad thing but it is necessary to make a reservation for dinner with some time prior.

AP Dona Aninhas, Viana do Castelo Parked outside hotel while checked in, but then moved car to free parking 5 minute walk away. A lovely, friendly and helpful check in, even looking up restaurants that would be open for us on a Sunday and Monday (not many!) Hotel room and bathroom perfect. We didn't have good weather when there so I feel we didn't see the full beauty of the town unfortunately. We made use of the swimming pool, jacuzzi and steam room, excellent. Recommend the hotel highly, food excellent (ate dinner there one night), breakfast very good and piano playing was a bonus. Stunningly decorated with artwork and furniture throughout hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Newly renovated, very fancy lobby and the halls. The room was a bit dark due to dark wallpaper and a pretty small opening for the window (even though I had a balcony with doors). But I still enjoyed it. It was possible to connect my laptop to a TV with an HDMI cable, which was nice and is usually not possible in hotels.

I was in a top-floor room with a balcony (305), but the big air conditioning unit of the whole facility was right under the windows. It switched on and off like every 15 minutes and on the first nights, it felt a bit too loud with a window open. Later I guess I got used to it.

There was a good choice of food to suit all diets. Staff were really helpful, polite and attentive. Space between tables was sufficient to provide privacy during conversations. The pianist, providing live piano instrumental music, added a pleasing dimension not normally found in hotels, so a pleasant and enjoyable surprise.

The only complaint, if you could call it that, was that the only hanging space in the room was in the wardrobe. Some hooks behind the door to hang coats on (It was pouring with rain while we were there) would have been really helpful and in the bathroom to hang towels on.

Amazing location, beautiful room, relaxing atmosphere at breakfast

Need better directions to hotel. GPS leaves you a block away. Parking is a free for all. Very few parking restrictions enforced, but you have to guess which. Parking lot picture shows distance to hotel. Some kind of shelving for clothes or place to put luggage. No where to put clothes when you shower; ended up using the bathtub as a makeshift chair/wardrobe. Real hangers instead of those weird headless ones

Fabulous hotel - lovely decor , attention to detail setting it apart from anywhere else we stayed on this trip. Great breakfast - even serenaded with live piano playing at breakfast . Luxury at a very reasonable price.

Very unfriendly receptionist- huge amount of sighing and eye rolling as she checked us in . Breakfast staff on the other hand very helpful and friendly . Small pet peeve- wall hair dryer where you have to keep your finger on the button- surely these dryers must have been invented by a man- or at least someone with very little hair !! Hate them 😉
