This was a lovely hotel with a clean room that was a little bit larger than some Japanese city centre hotels in which I stayed. There was an en-suite bathroom, kettle and fridge, so everything one could possibly need. I could not believe how cheap it was considering the facilities provided. There is a 7-11 store next door and it is about 10-15 minutes walk to the ferry terminal from which to catch a boat to the volcano. It is also less than five minutes walk from the tram stop that connects this part of town with the mainline railway station; the station itself is too far to walk but there are restaurants nearby. The staff were friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English. I could not have wished for a better place in which to stay when visiting Kagoshima, which is a city well worth visiting

The hotel was kept very clean! Fresh supplies each day and incredibly friendly staff all around! Each day we came home from exploring there were always two cold water bottles in the fridge to hydrate and cool down. Not a big thing, but one of the small details that does the extra impression! Would 100% return to this hotel again if i ever visit Kagoshima again!

The room was a little small. Not anything i would normally consider a problem considering the price per night, however there were not really a place to open up the suitcase on the floor. Which made it a little inconvenient. Other than that i have nothing bad to say!

I’m writing this review specifically to commend Miss Awada (sorry if misspelled) who served us on 28/08/2024 at the front desk. Due to the typhoon, we wanted to cancel our future hotels, ferries, and flights to receive refunds. It was very difficult with us not having access to a landline and the language barrier. She very kindly went out of her way to make multiple calls for us and ensured that we could receive our refunds. I believe this was beyond her duties but she very graciously offered to help us. We really appreciate her hospitality and generosity of her time, it has left positive feelings of Kagoshima for us. The hotel itself offers a lounge with drinks and is in a great location. Very clean and well equipped room for fair prices. I would highly recommend staying here. Thank you again!

The location was really good. It’s walking distance from the bus terminal; walking distance from the Sakurajima ferry terminal and walking distance from tenmonkan. During our stay we didn’t need to use any public transport as we walked everywhere. The hotel was very nice and cozy and while we were on vacation, it felt like this is more of a business hotel where it’s more for people who traveling on business. We mistakenly booked a smoking room but it wasn’t that bad as we had the room on the top floor and we could open the windows if we wanted. Initially there was a little smell but after ventilating it, it got better. The staff was really nice and friendly and while they didn’t have a buffet breakfast, we tried all 3 of their breakfast meals and we loved the Keihan meal the most and would highly recommend guests to opt for that when staying there.

The second day, it was raining but all the umbrellas were gone and even the umbrella stand was gone. I guess we could have asked for one if we needed but it just seemed a little weird that they didn’t have umbrellas outside for guest use. They gave us breakfast tickets for only the next day time and didn’t communicate with us that they would give the next day’s tickets to us or not so on the second night around midnight we asked the concierge about it and he was like oh yeah I have it, here it is (but they saw us come in and out all day but never said anything); maybe I am nitpicking on little things because honestly it’s a great hotel and we had a wonderful stay

This hotel is probably the best I have been to for very long time. The staff is absolutely lovely, paying attention to any detail and making sure you feel comfortable. Also the hotel was absolutely well located ! Not 5 minutes walk away trom the tram stop and the main street of the city. There are also convience stores right next to the building. What about the room... Really convenient, well furnished and the bed was so cofortable that i fell asleep trying it lol ! I really recommend !

This location was very ideal for us: not too far from the hustle and bustle of the city but also walking distance to the main ferry terminals. Each member of the staff was friendly, helpful and extremely courteous. We were all tremendously impressed with the breakfast too. For the price alone, we would definitely stay here again if we come back to Kagoshima!

The lighting was a bit dim, but overall fine for a one night stay.

The first room we got wasn't very clean, especially the air conditioner. It had 2 cm of dust on the surface. Since my husband has dust allergy, we asked them to clean it. Instead of cleaning it, they changed our room, so in the end, we had a nice, cleaner room with a perfect air conditioner and our window facing at Sakurajima vulcano.

The room space was quite big for my use case, it was also well placed so that it was walkable to the sort of main street on one end and Sakurajima ferry on the other end. The staff were also helpful in providing some recommendations for me to eat in the area.

Maybe the space between the desk and the bed was a little tight for me to use but that's just nit picking from my end, I didn't really have any complaints about my stay.

The price was unbeatable. The bed was large and comfortable. The staff were nice and helpful. The showerhead had good water pressure, which is a rarity. Overall, it was a very comfortable business hotel.

Parking is offsite (albeit close by), which is a bit frustrating with large amounts of luggage. The wifi wasn't working well when we were there, but we were notified ahead of time.

Location is close to the different ferry terminals that have ferries going to Sakurajima and Yakushima. Large bathroom by jap standards. Stocked with amenities like toothbrush, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Hotel also provided robes. Luggage storage was allowed before check-in time of 3pm. The hotel also stored some luggage for a few days between two stays for us. Appreciate that. The luggage was brought up to the room and placed neatly when we finally checked in during the evening. Some of the staff do not speak much english but they make all efforts to communicate. Appreciate that very much. Google translate is very useful to help communicate here.

The bedside light was quite dusty though the rest of the room was quite clean. The toilet/bath was quite a high step up to get to.
