The hotel is part of a series of hotels in the central historical souq Waqif of Doha. The location is perfect, right in the middle of the souq, which is a pedestrian area full of shops and restaurants. The decoration of the hotel and the room is very nice, traditional and modern at the same time.

Staff was very friendly but a bit confused. They did not manage to give us a working key card to open our room, we only managed to open the room thanks to the cleaning staff. It was not such a big deal for us as we stayed only one night, but as the hotel has ambitions to be a high standard hotel, such things should not happen.

Perfect location. Room was large. Water, robe and slippers. They called our transportation for us since we did not have international calling or what's app. Great value for the money.

I couldn't figure out how to turn off all the lights. Since my spouse was sleeping, I did not call about it. Slight imperfections behind the TV. They said an 11am check-in would be available. When we arrived at noon, it was not available due to the cruise. They should have known about the cruise and not offered an early check-in (most people book well in advance). That way I could have planned my tour differently.

The hotel was very clean and spacious. Good in room facilities, we stayed in the suite.

There was no pool in our hotel, it was located in a different hotel that is part of this group of hotels.

Great friendly helpful staff! The breakfast has a great choice which covers all diets . We loved the location as you could walk to everything we needed. We look forward to returning !

Overall the hotel location was very good but very hard to find as there are no signs and no parking in front of the hotel due to restricted area. We booked a suite which was fabulous. Requested two rooms with two single beds in each but unfortunately only one room had two beds, they were requesting an additional charge to go to a premium room but i refused to pay and they arranged another bed in one of the rooms.

For a 5 star hotel the service at breakfast was very bad. especially the serving of tea we would finish our breakfast and no sign of tea despite ordering several times. Welcome at reception was very nice by Abdullah but he gave us wrong information on breakfast time we got there the time he gave us but they refused us breakfast as it was late. Abdullah clarifed he made a mistake. Poor management as we requested due to error to reimburse us with lunch but they refused saying we needed to pay. Asked for refund on the day we were leaving for the missed breakfast and now management was happy to give lunch to reimburse but we were leaving for airport so no good. Not good customer service for a 5 star hotel. Stayed in 3-4 star before where customer service goes above and beyond.

Overall a great place to stay. Location is great for the Souq Waqif, and other attractions by foot. There is also a taxi rank opposite which makes getting to other places easy. The room was very clean and nice, I would give it 10/10 on that front. Reception staff were very helpful too.

Staff intrusion, twice. The first time I was shaving with my noise cancelling earphones in, and a guy just turned up at the bathroom door (could have been worse though). Trying to learn from that mistake, I put the do not disturb sign outside. The next day I was disturbed by another staff member telling me I had to check out...a day early. I'm pretty laid back but that was quite annoying. If you're a light sleeper you'll want to bring earplugs if you're in 5201 because of the calls to prayer too.

The location in Souq Waqif is excellent, the hotel buildings are in the middle of the "real" souq, i.e. busy market place. Taxis are readily available for transportation to further sights in Doha and very reasonably priced. WiFi in the area worked well. The restaurant in the hotel was good. However, you need to remember to take money/credit card with you, as you cannot book the costs into the room.

We stayed in Al Jomrok, but the breakfast was available in another of the group hotels, not far away - but it would have been nice to know this when we made the reservation. Similarly, the architecture in Al Jomrok is such that the room windows are to an inside corridor (which probably was a balcony in the building originally), i.e. no way to open the window for fresh air (air conditioning worked OK).

The location was great, and staff were friendly and helpful.

The parking is that of Souk waqif parking , and therefore if you come late , it would be challenging to find a parking spot nearby and have to park at the north side parking which is far from the hotel. I stayed at AlMargab building , but there was no way to find the building. I had ask the reception of a hotel about its location and was surprised that it’s the same hotel but with a different name. If you use google maps to find the hotel named “Souq Waqif boutique hotel” it will take you to a location with a different name..this is really confusing. The hotel facilities appear beat up and consumed.

The humility and warmth of the staff,they were always willing to help and didn’t even want us to lift a finger from carrying our bags to driving to breakfast. The Security staff (I wish I could name them all)but they were just amazing.They served with a smile. I’ve never felt so much welcomed and safe honestly. Special shout out to Jaydul (An epitome of kindness and humility) and Umar (Receptionist). And the fact that it’s a step away from the Metro Station….Top tier. The Hotel is just so beautiful and quiet regardless of it being in the middle of the Souq Waqif market.

When I called the morning of my check in one of the guys was pretty mean because he couldn’t understand my African name and offered to spell it out for him and said he was too busy for that (How rude!) but that’s water under the bridge.

We booked a room for a family of 4 at Al Mirqab. The room was spacious enough for 2 rollout beds for the kids and for us to still move around comfortably. The room was clean, comfortable and with all the amenities you could expect. It was freat to have access to the rooftop pool in the heat of the day. Although you had to go to another hotel for breakfast, the gold cart was always there within a couple of minutes of ordering it. The breakfast was tasty and plentiful, the staff super helpful and courteous, and the location of the hotel was excellent - right in the souk and next to the metro station. We loved our stay and would recommend it to others.

Lunch was supposed to be served from 12.30pm in the restaurant, but when we got there, with 2 hungry children after a 7hr flight, we were told 1pm. It was no problem as we ate over the road but was a minor irritation.
