KēSa House is more of a hotel than an accommodation place, as it appears to cater for both long- and short-term residency. It offers a private lounge for guests, and has a communal kitchen and launderette, making it a little different from traditional hotels. Despite arriving at the accommodation well in advance of the usual check-in, Seeham arranged for an immediate check-in. Having visited Singapore on a number of occasions, I have become quite used to budget-medium priced accommodation meaning small compact rooms, and this was no exception. Being small in size does not, however, necessarily mean not having all of what is available in more spacious hotel rooms. comfortable bed, which spread from one wall to the other, making getting into (or out of) bed a potential act of intimacy. The room also contained a fold away bench, enabling work to still be conducted, a small refrigerator, and plenty of storage areas to ensure tripping over luggage does not become a hazard. The bathroom is also very small, and if long legged (as I am), some side saddling may be required when using the toilet. Small shower, but excellent water pressure and temperature. Also provided, showing that they truly are a blessing to residents, is the provision of face cloths. Added to its quirkiness is a number of resident notifications placed around the room and throughout the building. All very relevant though. Bottomless water, tea and coffee are also a very wonderful asset, as is the ability to do laundry on site. Very well located for using public transport into the city centre (and beyond) for sightseeing and shopping. Also surrounded by a number of eateries of various ethnicities, which may engender some street noise up till around midnight, but guests are warned of this before making bookings, so the onus lies on them, not the accommodation providers, and it is a little unfair to use this as a subsequent complaint. Excellent complimentary (and secured) Wi-fi.

The hotel is really nice-very clean and it's wonderful to stay in the historic rowhouse/shophouse area. The room, while small, was also very efficient in terms of layout. Overall the location was good-close to many tourist areas. The staff were great-very friendly and professional. But...

The issue, which isn't the hotel's fault is that it's VERY noisy at night as there is music blasting from the bars on the street. That music goes until midnight. Even the ear plugs that I had didn't work to muffle the super loud music. So, if you want to stay here-just keep this in mind if you like to go to bed early..

The location is very convenient, near the Outram Park MRT station, where there is easy access to the CBD area. Also, you can unlimitedly refill water by using the 2 bottles that they offered in the room. Moreover, the coin laundry that they provided was affordable!

When I first entered the room in this property, I was staggered by how small it was! The bed was tucked into the far end of the room right next to the window and floor space was minimal which was a bit of a conundrum as I had bought my bike with me for this trip. If you have ever stayed in Hong Kong, you will be able to visually imagine the size of the room here in this property. However, the more I got used to this space the more I appreciated the thought and details that have been implemented in order to make my stay comfortable. Yes the floor space is minimal but there is a dedicated place to store your shoes in a crevice by the bed which helps the situation somewhat. Also, the lighting in the room is lovely with several options and ambient lighting in order to make you feel cosy and relaxed. As well as this, the bed is very comfortable and has a huge TV if you wanted to watch. I have not yet mentioned the prime location this is in which is right in the middle of Chinatown with bustling streetside bars and restaurants outside this hotel. However, you really can't hear the din from outside as the windows have excellent soundproofing. A few other things- they have managed to fit a fold out table, a chair and an area to hang up your clothes in the room also. Finally, I was impressed with the free drinking water (and sparkling water too!) that was available in the communal area. So to sum up, I was surprised when I first entered the room but grew to love and appreciate it. If you look around on Booking.com at this price range, I have no doubt this is one of the best options in its price category. Good things can come in small packages.

The WiFi was a bit patchy which could have potentially affected my work as I had a conference call to make during my stay. However, it was adequate in the end and just about did its job.

The location is great. Quite close to Chinatown and Maxwell complex. Major tourist sites are all within 30 minutes' walk. Too bad it's rainy season, but the nearest underground station connects three trains, so it's still really convenient. The room is tiny but neat, with all necessary facilities (there is even a mini fridge!) included. There is a common kitchen where you could fill the glass bottle from the room with still and sparkling water. The laundry room includes a washing machine and a dryer (SG$5 each per use). All the staff are very friendly and answer all my questions patiently.

The house is a historic building, so our room does not have a window. Although the air conditioning is working, there is still a light smell coming up from the sewer of the bathroom. Also, the sliding door of the shower can only close halfway by design, which causes water to splash onto the toilet seat during showers.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed my 11-night stay at KeSa House. Initially, I was dissatisfied about the fact that there was no indication in the room description on booking.com that the room I booked had no windows. It was only after I made a non-refundable booking that I was told the room I booked was windowless.. When I requested cancellation, explaining my reasons, I received a free upgrade to a room with windows. What I liked: I love the tastefully preserved historical architecture of the building: the wide wooden planks on the floors, the design of the doors and windows with shutters (all functional). The history that came with the Chinatown area came through for me. The room deco is simple and timeless, along with the bathroom fixtures that are clean and well-maintained. Even though it is in a bustling area with considerable outside noise, there is sufficient privacy in my room. There is a common kitchen and a living area. I could chill out there if I wished and there is not much traffic. There is a washing machine and dryer although it would be nice if there was an additional set. There is just about enough floor space for me to lay out my yoga mat, which is more than what I can say for most Singapore hotels. The guests seemed considerate. One evening, I complained to the front desk about whiffs of cigarette smoke coming through the room vent. Within 20 min, they investigated and resolved the issue.

What could be improved: The step that leads to the bathroom is rather high. For me it’s not a big problem but I can imagine people who are less fit or have knee issues might find it a strain. The chiller in the room does not work and should probably be removed. The reception and check-out staff could have been more friendly and hospitable. There were many different personnel working there on different days that I stayed. Some were helpful and nice while others were less than friendly.

KeSa house is ideally located in a very hip/lively neighborhood that feels like a subsection of Chinatown. There are multiple MRT stations within a 8-10 minute walk and a ton of great restaurants around. The hotel is impeccably clean, well designed & laid out, and comfortable - especially with the kitchen providing unlimited water and a couple nice snacks. The rooms are VERY small but exceptionally executed given their space. The bed/bedding is beyond comfortable and cozy and the shower has amazing water pressure & hot water. We will absolutely recommend the hotel to anyone traveling & would happily stay again if we found ourselves in Singapore another time.

Amazing place - the building is really kept well and it looks gorgeous at night. We had a room with a (hughe!) balcony. Bed is really comfortable, shower is good and the room we had was really spacious. It is in a lively street, but we did not really hear that inside our room. Check-in went smoothly! Nice that they have a kitchen you can use, with free mineral water. The location is amazing - close to a metro, with many restaurants in the area and close to Chinatown.

Our room was next to the entrance door to our hallway; during one of the nights people kept going in and out, which we could hear really well. Downside of an older building; plussides are more important.

We stayed 4 nights at the Kesa Hotel - the perfect Singapore base. Located just 5 minutes from the metro and a 10-minute walk to Chinatown so you're surrounded by excellent food options and shops to suit all budgets. Highlights in the area include The Peranakan Museum , renowned Tiles Gallery and the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple. Though rooms are compact, they're stylishly decorated and comfortable. The shared spaces - including kitchen, laundry, and lounge - are beautifully designed and maintain the hotel's elegant aesthetic. The incredibly friendly and knowledgeable front desk staff are a real highlight.

As new arrivals in Singapor & after a long flight, the staff were very welcoming and helped us settle in. The location was brilliant - on a street with good restaurants and bars but just round the corner from Chinatown and the food halls. We couldn't have chosen a better place to stay for exploring what the city has to offer. The tea and coffee facilities in the shared kitchen were great, very modern and clean - there is dispensed drinking water available and an ice machine - we didn't use the cooking facilities but they looked top notch. To use the laundry facilities you buy a couple of tokens from reception - the washer pre dispenses washing powder & a wash is 30 mins - the token for the dryer gives you an hour.
