Location is next to Chinatown Station

The AC was so cold in the night. I had to wear sweatshirt and jogging pants to bed. I had warmer night in the winter in the Himalaya.

This is one of the cheaper options in Singapore but better than we expected, and it is in a good location with nice friendly staff. The rooms are small but the bunk beds are well laid out so you are able to get into all of them easily. Each bed has its own lockable locker to store your bag, probably not big enough for your main bag but good to be able to store valuables and important bits safely. There are 4 showers and 4 toilets which seemed to be enough for the rooms as there was never a queue. The kitchen has a microwave and a free water fountain with hot and cold water. They provide tea/coffee in the morning until 9am aswell as some bread/small cakes but this is on a first come first served basis don't rely on this as breakfast.

The beds don't have curtains which would help the beds feel more private. There wasn't any shampoo/shower gel in the showers and some showers didn't have shelves. Some noise at night from nearby dorm rooms slamming their door which would shake our room, and gushing water pipes in the walls but this wasn't too bad with ear buds in.

the location is great, close to a lot of things which makes it all very walking distance. transport entrances are close by as well! and handful of hawker centres around too. the properly is quite cramped but then again which hostel in singapore isn't, it's quite clean and not much to fault. the aircon is always on if you do spend a day relaxing in the hostel.

the beds are very creeky but can't expect more than that since they're metal bunk beds. there's no ledge on your own bunks so everything you need just sits on your bed, the powerpoints are high up as well so bring long cords. there's not much space to share with the amount of people you share a room with. you and your luggage will be in someone's way and there's also no secure lockers for luggage.

The location is very prime and centrally located. Saved us precious time in getting to places we wanted to visit. Ms. Norma was very helpful and supportive in helping us iron out some snags with our city tour package. The place is humble but the beds were very comfortable and the sheets were clean and the room smelled nice. We were fortunate to have a room of 4 to ourselves so we had privacy and didnt have to share it with other people.

Its our first time to try a hostel so my kids were not used to sharing a toilet and bath with others but this was disclosed upfront so we should not complain. It wd have been better if the other occupants made more effort in cleaning up after each use. Otherwise, management made sure the hallways and other common areas were clean and tidy.

Rucksack Inn Rucksack Inn is a perfect place to stay for budget conscious and want to explore the city state by foot. It is conveniently located in Chinatown, a haven for gastronomic adventure. I had stayed a room with two bunk beds. The room had no windows but completely fine. There are individual lockers which you can tuck your important belongings. The shower and bathroom are separate. The space is just enough to do your business. The pantry and working lounge close to the reception is great. You can do some personal work there with an ease. The surrounding area is safe at night and very close to MRT station. The staffs are helpful and accommodating. Overall, a decent place to stay in Singapore.

Nothin.

+ Excellent location, very near to Chinatown MRT and walking distance to the Maxwell food centre + 24 hours front desk + Stable WIFI + Many power sockets + Locker, not big but enough to store my bag + huge mirror (ground floor) in front of the only 2 basins + thank god roommates are all nice persons

- Small small small bathrooms & toilets - Air con in the common area not working (ground floor) - light bulb in a bathroom not working and didnt change in time - door lock in a bathroom was not working and didnt fix in time - wishing the "breakfast" can go back to bread, butter, jam & always available version - room door was difficult to open sometimes

It’s in the center of Chinatown, so it’s easy to walk everywhere. The lady at the reception is so nice and helpful! She was always smiling which made me feel very welcome. The hostel has a kitchen with a fridge and microwave, and they provide both hot and cold water. There are many places to eat all around and a very nice street market a few seconds from the hostel. The wifi works very well and there are many places to charge your phone etc… in the common space (kitchen).

The hostel could be a bit cleaner, especially given the price. Also, even though it’s not the hostel’s fault, it’s a bit disgusting that some guests cough up phlegm in the kitchen and spit it into the garbage can. There is a sign asking that guests don’t do this into the sink, however it should say don’t do it at all whilst in the kitchen. Maybe it’s part of the culture, but it isn’t very nice to be witnessing this while eating.

Everything, specially beds that were so comfortable. A/C was working perfectly. Location in the middle of chinatown and 3 min walk to chinatown train station allows you to start your journey very easily and efficiently. Street restaurants with affordable enough prices in the same street. Most of the staff was nice.

The lady at the reception was rude, not willing to help, with a high tone when answering to questions or responding to inquiries. Sometimes when you were in the common area you could hear her talking in a high tone to guests, everytime I felt that they were arguing. Although, a man at the reception was polite and understood this when I told him.

I like that the place is situated in Chinatown, very accessible to the nearest train stop. Their receptionists are friendly, which I commend! There's a hawker nearby! So many food stalls around the area, too. And if you also want to buy souvenirs, there's a lot of shops nearby, too.

What just disappoint me was the "uncleanliness" of our designated lockers, it seems that they don't check this once a guest checks out, because food and trash were left in my and my friend's locker. We requested assistance for this, but to no avail. Probably because there's only one staff for the entire place, which I suggest the management should look into.

GREAT friendly, helpful, polite staff!! TEMPLE STREET is amazing w/ its collection of RESTAURANTS!! There is even a FRESH OJ MACHINE right beside the FRONT DOOR!! Shopping street for SOUVENIERS and everything else: ice cream, a few bars, etc. is PARALLEL to Temple Street and is amazingly LONG w/ many choices and DEALS on souveniers... HOSTEL KITCHEN is better, bigger than the norm...fyi.

Nothing I didnt like here... THIS is as good as it gets!!!
