The communal areas were great, including the lounge/whiskey bar and onsen. The lodge is well located, only a short walk from the shuttle bus stop to Happo One, 47, Tsugaike and Iwatake. A few restaurants and cafes close by too. Staff were lovely.

Our room smelt musty, and the mattresses looked to be 30 years old - so old that springs were poking through them. This was disappointing given the price we were paying each night. Although the lodge is central in Echoland, we found the shuttle service inadequate - most days took us 1 hour minimum to go to the slopes. Some days it took us 1.5 hours to get home, even from Happo One! The shuttles are so complicated to figure out to do anything that doesn't involve skiing that not even the staff could help is plan simple transport to places in in Happo.

The accommodation was fantastic, it was clean, we recieved fresh towels each day, the bath of an evening was perfect for sore muscles. Breakfast was very westwrn whic suited our kids, and that helped us iut.there is netflix and a massive tv to watch at the end of the day and the communalspace was well thought out and offered couches and spots for people to chat at. Board games were also availabe and the free hot drinks at anytime were very much appreciated. The staff worked so hard to help us out at every point and were very friendly. Location for us was important and nestled in Echoland meant we were near food sopts, restaurants and some shopping. We were also at the hub of bus stops so we could pick and choose which slope we would skii or board on each day. Very spoilt.

The downside of being well positioned meant outside passers by might be a bit noisy at night time, but this was no fault of Nomad's.

Location was good, there are 2 nearby bus stops which is sufficient enough to travel around hakuba valley and various resorts. Room condition was great too and very spacious. There is also a communal lounge to relax, chill and chit chat with other travelers and it is a very cozy setup as well with sofas, chairs, carpets and even a bar laid around. Very good & nice

Maybe when it comes to finding food such as lunch or dinner, there are only a few japanese restaurants nearby this accommodation, where as the other half are western type cuisine. So in terms of japanese food, choices are quite limited and few too as it can get quite packed during peak hours. Overall there are still plenty of places to eat, just limited choices in local food as that was my main priority when in Japan

Best location in Echo Land, just 3 minutes walk from Hakuba Base Camp, many local shuttles to different ski resorts. Many good restaurants, rental shops and a convenient store nearby. The Hardwares of the hotel are excellent, rooms are clean and tidy, and I feel so comfy and relaxed every night after snowboarding. Password room lock is a good, I don't need to bring a room key to the slope. Last but not least, the manager SHO is very nice and helpful, he speaks good English and knows all the needs of all skiers and snowboarders. He will do his best to accommodate your requests and needs.

The common room had a Scandinavian feel with hot water and TV for tea. Showers 24hrs. Receptionest friendly breakfast continental only. Huge place to store luggage, 3 minutes walk (5mins snow) to Ecoland's JaJa convenience store bus stop to catch free shuttle bus to bus terminal. Another stop for Happo Nakiyama Slope is at Sportscenter (am/pm not hourly). Spicy rental is 10mins walk in snow.

Someone was watching Squid Game on the common room TV but was also playing with his feet and peeling scabs. Although it was 9.pm over hours most skiers probabily getting ready for bed, a bit disgusted by the insanitary activity in a public area. Shared bath (ryokan) was OK but hours were limited to 2 to pm, not open in the morning. Room heater was too small to heat up entire room. The hotel is probabily older than it appears in the reception area and common room. Dimmed lighting, you had to make your own bed in the evening, very little hotel service, we had a hard time calling a cab and the short paths to main street was too snowy to pull luggages. Would say the hotel more like a top level youth hostel. Not ideal with kids under 6 years old without a car.

The staff was friendly, and were helpful with giving information on ways to travel to the different ski resorts. There is a cozy living room area for guests, and they were playing ski and snowboard competitions on the TV. The happy hour for beer and wine was nice as well.

The men's shared bath tub was sometimes lukewarm, but that is probably because the other guests were adding cold water to the bath. The water coming in to the shared bath was a bit lukewarm as well.

The room was bigger then expected and suited our family perfectly. The breaky was perfect, just enough to start each day and the communal area's were really nice. Super super perfect location so close to the Shuttle bus stops and local store for snacks. Very clean, really enjoyed our time at the hotel and would definatelty return, great value for money.

Nothing, enjoyed it all

The location was excellent - right near skiing bus stops, convenience store, restaurants and ski hire places. Breakfast was cute, but no that filling for a full day's skiing (sugar cereal and white toast).

Our room was bigger than I expected so that was good but the carpet was wet all along the wall near the window which made the room smell a little mouldy.

This is a charming and well-located hotel with fabulous staff who went above and beyond to ensure we had a great skiing holiday. We stayed in a traditional Japanese room which was very comfortable. My only advice would be to book somewhere for dinner every night as it’s hard to get into restaurants in high season.

Cool atmosphere, great common lounge area, lovely large family rooms, luggage pick-up and drop-off available and area for ski-hire returns in the drying room which is very convenient.

Breakfast could have more variety and the drying room was over-crowded with ski gear. Only one female and one male shower for the entire building plus the onsen.
