It was cute/quaint and had character! Excellent location, shuttle stops for all the mountains were a five min walk or less, as were the ski rental shop and many restaurants. Loved hanging out in the common room. And most of all we LOVED Taka, he was the best. Such an amazing host. Definitely would stay here again if I came back to Hakuba and definitely would recommend to a friend.

I didn’t realize this property had shared bathrooms when I booked it but it didn’t turn out to be a big deal. Stayed for four nights and only waited for a shower once for about 5 mins.

I can add very little more than the other reviews Breakfast - bacon,sausage,toms,mushrooms; cereal, toast - tea/coffee - delicious. Bedrooms are comfortable. Shared sinks, toilets, showers were never an issue for us. Ski locker room - large and hot for drying Onsen x 2, which we used every day. The communal lounge is large and relaxing. Yutaka the host was fantastic The location being in Echoland is the best with many bars and restaurants and buses to the different ski lifts. WiFi very good Would I recommend- yes Would I return- definitely

So long as you don’t mind sharing bathrooms- which we didn’t- there is nothing not to like.

Pension Belnina is perfectly located in Echoland Hakuba! 2 minute walk to the free shuttle buses to the snow resorts. Easy walk to rental shops for snowboarding/skiing gear, all the great cafes, restaurants and local supermarket. The room was warm and cozy, we had our own bathroom but made use of the private onsens everyday. Breakfast was the best part of our day (second to snowboarding I guess). It was so yummy and we are vegan but Taka and his wife have a beautiful buffet style breakfast every morning with so much variety, home made bread and muffins to fresh fruit to hot food like mushrooms eggs bacon etc. Taka was so helpful, he picked us up from the train station and made sure we were comfortable throughout our whole stay. We are so lucky we booked at Pension Belnina and will be recommending it to everyone on our travels and will be bringing our friends back one day :)

Pension Belnina was the perfect place to stay in winter to enjoy Hakuba snow fields. Located in Echoland, there is lots of restaurants and food options around the corner from where the accommodation is located. The hosts were so kind and helpful (e.g. calling taxis, making dinner reservations). They were very willing to help you in any way possible. Rooms were nice, basic but had everything you required. The whole accommodation was clean and very tidy. Awesome breakfast in the morning as well.

This is such a lovely place! The rooms were large and comfortable, onsen and showers were amazing after a day skiing, and the breakfast was divine. The baked goods each morning were so yummy. On top of that, Taka is super friendly and provided us with everything we needed including a lift to and from Happo Bus Terminal. Echo land is also a wonderful location to be based in for food options as well as the free shuttles to and from the ski resorts.

At first it was overwhelming to pick a hotel because everywhere seemed good and we didn’t know the area. So we chose Belnina and so, so glad we did. Belnina was a perfect place to stay in Echoland. As others said, Taka was an exceptional host and delivered best advice about where to ski, rent, and eat (try the ramen place- so good!) the location was perfect, 2 min walk to rental company, bus, and delicious restaurants. The hotel itself was clean and inviting, the breakfast was perfect, and we loved the private onsen after a day of skiing. Definitely recommend you stop scrolling and just book this place!

Super nice couple runs the place. They are very helpful. The homemade bread and muffins for breakfast are exceptionally tasty

They use a kerosine heater to heat the sitting area (which is very nice and cosy). This heater produces a nasty smell and the fumes are very unhealthy and spread through the whole building. It should not be used in a closed indoors area. .

Taka (the host) was super friendly and helpful, with great advice every morning on the best hills to go that day and made you feel very welcome. Cooked beakfast was amazing, sets you up perfectly for the day with the little onsens downstairs helping the post-snow recovery. Bus stops to free shuttles for the resorts a couple minutes away. Drying room downstairs for all your gear. A great stay, would come back again.

Taka the owner is wonderful; he's super helpful, friendly and goes out of his way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The breakfasts he and his wife put on are really good. The location is in Echoland, which has numerous eating spots along the main road. Free shuttle buses can take you to the ski resorts.

More than two showers would be helpful and the drying room was overcrowded. Towels should be changed after a couple of days.
