We had an amazing time here. We wanted to take a fun, relaxing trip with no organized activities. Just lots of swimming, shopping, and good food and drink. This hotel was perfect for that kind of a trip. We have stayed at the Marriott waikiki and the four seasons Ko Olina. While this hotel was a completely different experience, it was every bit as fun, and in ways it was even better. For one, we never had to wait more than 10 seconds for an elevator. Check in was incredibly fast and efficient. All of the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. They had a huge variety of beach stuff that you could check out easily. At the Marriott, we had to sign waivers, fill out applications...but here it was grab and go. Umbrellas, nice beach chairs, at least 6 boogie boards, and even a snorkel mask, which we used for hours at the beach. The hotel has no housekeeping, but in many ways this was nice. For one, it eliminates the stress of wondering, "oh no, I wonder if our room will be ready when we come back?" Two, it eliminates any fear that someone will be in the room, or that items might go missing. It felt more like our own little apartment. If you needed towels, or anything, the front desk was quick to exchange them. The room felt very safe and secure. There was a very large balcony with a nice table and chairs, and it was great for drying wet swimsuits. There was a microwave, a good sized refrigerator for our champagne and snacks from the nearby abc store. And metal utensils, real coffee mugs, glasses, plates. It came fully stocked. The free 10% Kona coffee blend in the room was excellent. Way better than the Marriott, and better than almost any in-room coffee we've ever had. Plus, it brewed a whole pot, not just those single cup units. And cream and sugar was provided. The shower was small but adequate. The body wash, soap, and shampoo smelled great. The towels were soft and fluffy, good quality.
We missed having an iron in the room, but if we would have asked, I'm sure they would have let us borrow one. The TV remote didn't work, but probably just needed batteries.

Great location. We arrived late, the hotel communicated very clearly via email to let me know how to get my room card and it was smooth with no hiccup when I picked up my room key to access the outside elevator to go to my room. The room was big, big balcony, toilet clean, nice counter with dishes and compliment coffee. We will b back at central hotel. Loved it!!!

Not a fancy hotel, but a fantastic value nevertheless. Great location a couple blocks from Waikiki Beach. Staff let me leave my car in the small hotel parking lot for an extra few hours at no charge.
Rooms are small, but the sizes are accurately described in the Booking.com listing. Some furniture was a bit worn looking.

Basic, yet right in the middle of the fun! All I needed, "Follow your heart and you'll never lose your way to the beach"
I was happy cuz i wasn't there to be in my room all day. They had coffee in my room, OK!

The location is close to Waikiki beach. There is an ABC store, two food trucks, and several restaurants within 5 minutes walking distance. There is an elevator (but only to the fifth floor). My room was really nice and comfortable. The staffs are also really helpful. I enjoy my staying at this hotel.
The only downside is that after turning on the hot water in the shower, it takes several minutes before the water actually becoming warm. Probably because I live in high floor?

We really loved this place. The building feels very secure. Staff are friendly and super helpful. Location is fantastic. Having access to (paid) laundry facilities was a huge bonus. Kitchenette was well stocked. The room was spacious. The bed was big and very comfortable. The shower was lovely. Air conditioning was quiet, efficient and easy to adjust. We were very happy with our stay here!
The WiFi wasn't the strongest. We struggled to get a reliable connection, even with an amplifier. With better WiFi, this would have been a 10/10 rating.

I live on Kaua'i, am generally a solo-traveler to O'ahu & for me Waikiki Central Hotel is PERFECT for my simple needs. GREAT Waikiki location, excellent up -to-date simple modern room upgrade/design, very comfy bed, loved the kitchen/snack bar/room countertop & height, fantastic bathroom & shower w/ design in keeping w/ rest of hotel room. I personally love "independently" owned smaller hotels & I don't mean the type run by hotel mgt co's & Waikiki Central fits this bill. Other good hotel feature is fact bldg built in ?1960s? or prior & w/ solid cinderblock. There's nice tall, narrow & "secure" window (height of front room entry door) parallel to door w/ screened jalousie windows & when opened w/ large sweet lanai screen door on other end of room provides EXCELLENT cross ventilation w/ swirling Waikiki winds. AC is for mainlanders! ;) In addition to great loca & room, the front desk staff is über nice, friendly, refreshingly PROFESSIONAL & efficiently helpful. Loved-loved-loved the staff!!! Other bonuses in my opinion are the small but very functional & useful lanai & HUGE Waikiki Central trademark-ish policy/marketing strategy of "No Resort Fee." I hate fees as do many people & Waikiki Central still lends you beach towels, a chair, etc...Nice!...VERY nice!!! I plan to stay here @ Waikiki Central again before EOY but no dates yet. Don't tell anyone how nice the hotel is... oops, guess I just spilled the beans. ;)

Location was awesome, right in the hub of Waikiki. Lots of restaurants nearby and near the park and beach. Room was great with a small fridge (not micro mini fridge) and microwave along with a sink, bowl, dishes and cups. Toaster oven would have been ideal but not a big deal. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, cotton pads and Q-tips all included in the bathroom. Bathroom was a good size so lots of space. Coffee maker was in the room but I don't drink coffee. Housekeeping was great if I needed Kleenex or bathroom tissue. Bed was super comfortable and it was an actual King size bed, not a large double bed. Big closet to hang clothes and a safe was also available. Photos online were just like the room I stayed in and WIFI was great.
Bathroom could have used some hooks to hang up clothes or towels when taking a bath/shower. Hand soap was missing but I just asked housekeeping and they let me take a bottle for the room. Full size mirror in the hallway would have been nice. A proper desk area with an office chair would have been good also. Dresser drawers were worn and lopsided but not a big deal. A bit noisy at night time as there is a loud bar nearby but it usually ended by 1:30 - 2 am. I'm a night owl so it didn't affect me too much.

Great location in the heart of Waikiki near the beach and surf rentals. No resort fees so excellent value. Room was fine and sometimes would sit on the balcony
The noise from the food truck generators was at times annoying whilst on the balcony but not a problem when in the room. This obviously was not the hotel’s fault (it might be worth them seeing if the food truck companies could get quieter generators as they sometimes really were very loud indeed)
