The hotel is in a very nicely refurbished colonial town house. Lots of art and colourful furnishings. Rooms are of a good size. Having a room with a view of the sea and a balcony is particularly nice and worth the extra cost. The breakfast was really good. The reception staff were really nice and helpful. Lucas was exceptionally nice. The location is excellent. Easy to walk to the Pelhourinho old town. Rua de Direita de Santo Antonio close to the hotel has several lively bars and good restaurants. It is a very nice area to stay in. I highly recommend the Pousada des Arts.

Absolutely adorable accommodation, full of color, plants, local Brazilian art, and dark wood furniture and high ceilings. The rooms were simple but elegantly decorated, the breakfast was unquestionably huge and varied (every morning there were at least 15 different cakes and goodies as well as fruits, breads, meats and cheeses, yogurt, juices, coffee and tea, all with a beautiful view of the harbor and water below). The incredible staff, all so pleasant, kind and helpful, made my stay just perfect. Obrigada!

The room is spacious and comfortable with a great shower (hot water always available). I also liked the nice balcony. The staff are great, everyone is friendly, helpful and kind, especially Pedro which is such an amazing person, he went above and beyond to help me, offering tips and ensuring I had everything I needed. They all speak great English, which was very helpful. The location is great too, in a quiet neighborhood but a very short walking distance to Pelourinho.

The main negative is the WiFi that was really bad in my room at the top floor (might be better in other rooms). Also, the breakfast should be organized better. Sometimes they take the food from the buffet table while you’re still sitting and eating, and while it’s way before 10:00 (the time when the breakfast should be done).

I loved the unique interior design, the size of the room, the huge private balcony and the terrace downstairs where we could see the sunset while sipping delicious cocktails. The location was also perfect for us as it’s super close to Pelourinho but a bit more quiet and full of cute cafés and restaurants.

As we were a group of friends sharing one room, it was annoying that we could not get more than one room key. Also, the room door could not be fully closed without locking it, and could only be locked from the inside. This meant that, if somebody was going downstairs for breakfast early, somebody needed to lock the room from inside otherwise it stayed open. The other major downside is the breakfast buffet. Besides the fact that I would have preferred more savory options, the bread was always really dry and one day there was simply no bread when we arrived. The quality of the food served at breakfast could be better for such a beautiful pousada.

My stay at Pousada des Arts was a highlight of my trip to Salvador. It was a great experience and really added to the 'historical' experience and culture of the town. The breakfast was delicious, with a wide range of options including some traditional Bahian dishes. The breakfast view overlooking the ocean was beautiful and a great way to start the day! The staff was available 24/7 to help with any request, and it was easy for us to communicate with them even though we are non-Portuguese speakers. The location was also great, on a beautiful, safe street in walking distance to Pelourinho and many good restaurants. I would recommend Pousada des Arts to anyone, and I would stay there again.

The hotel (pousada) was very beautiful and the rooms were spacious, including some works of art. The location was amazing, with quite a few restaurants and bars around.

When we got there the person in charge of the reception counter was absent, and we were welcomed by one of the managers. Unfortunately she forgot to give us some important instructions. The towels were not changed during our stay. The amenities were not enough and we had to ask for refilling twice. During breakfast, unless you asked about it, the staff would not let you know about the the additional options they could offer (tapioca, eggs), even though we stayed there for three nights.

The colors are incredible, the decor, and attentiveness of the staff. I love this gem in the heart of Centro. I have already recommended this place to others who find themselves in Salvador.

If the bed had a mattress topper that would have been great. Separately, I inquired about the bed netting since that was not placed on my bed when I arrived. The staff is very efficient though and provide alternatives if your needs cannot directly be met in the moment.

We loved the character and charm of the Hotel & the friendly staff! The breakfast was the best we have had and Larissa and Ariuma really made breakfast time so enjoyable. They were attentive and fun to talk to (in Portuguese). Fabio also looked after us like a friend. The street that the hotel is on is vibrant and there is live music every Friday night just outside.

There’s very little we didn’t like but the sleeping comfort would be improved by adding a mattress and pillow protector and a comfortable chair to sit on in the room.

We had this classic booking.com WOW experience when we entered the hotel and our room. Absolutely stunning place. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast had a lot of choices and was delicious. The room was spacious and clean. Shower was really hot. We had a room with balcony. I spent quite a time in the hammock and watched stunning sunsets. We also had a lovely dinner at the restaurant.

My stay here was incredible. The staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. As soon as you walk through the front gate, you see art, a fountain and beautiful decor. I suggest booking one of the rooms facing the water if you can. It rained quite a bit while I was there. However, I was able to sit in a hammock and drink wine.They were some great rainy days. The breakfast in the morning is bursting with fruits and pastries. It has everything you need to get the day started and was prepared by the lovliest women. It's about a 10 min walk to the Pelourinho. Using Uber, it was usually between 20 and 25 real to get to the places I wanted to in Salvador. It is obvious that the owner and the staff take great pride in this space and want everyone to feel great in it. I looked forward to coming back after a day of walking around. It truly was a magical stay for me. I felt rested, rejuvenated and inspired. Thank you very much.
