The staff were brilliant and super accommodating, they moved me to another room without any issues. Kitchen staff were also amazing, they prepared me a meal that wasn't actually on the menu (chicken roast dinner as I don't eat other meats) *could not fault the staff at all they operated perfectly with the unfortunate hand they had been dealt regarding facilities*
While the staff were excellent they were combating poor facilities. My first room had a broken toilet seat and mould by the window (was also above the spa so had a constant whirring noise) My second room had one lamp not working, snapped toilet flush button, a rip in the duvet cover and did have a fair bit of dust (on headboard and light fixtures, tops of picture frames and mirrors etc). The spa facilities were below expectations, the gym was 1 small cupboard - like room, changing room was very small and outdated (not luxury at all). The pool and hot tub was however nice. The general decor definitely needs an update or just a tidy up as door frames had cracked and flaking paintwork (particularly in the newer build wing of the building) and sofas in the hall were very dated and stained.

The room was amazing (with a lovely view) and had what I needed - it was lovely to get a teapot! The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. The bar food was good and served quickly - really appreciated as I got to dinner quite late. The electric car charger was also easy to use and great to be able to leave with a full battery. I used the swimming pool and hot tub which was an added bonus, especially with it being so quiet.
The only negative was the ironing board - it needs a new cover as it wasn't padded and the metal pattern came through onto my dress. I could have used a free towel for the pool too, and maybe a drying facility for my costume that some pools have.

We were here for an evening event but made the most of it by arriving early at check in time. I'd requested a particular style of room when booking and true to their word, the staff had assigned us what we'd asked for in the main building. Proper country house hotel vibes, super comfy, peaceful, and lovely greenery outside. Well-appointed room although the bathroom was tired and a couple of things needed repair or replacement. Wifi in the room was good, so it was easy to finish off some Friday afternoon work bits without worry. Really friendly welcome at the pool and spa and I had a lovely couple of hours swimming and steaming with the place pretty much to myself. Sadly I can't report on the breakfast as I'd had much too good a time the night before. Other people seemed to be enjoying it though and the timbered dining room was lovely. I'm so glad we decided to stay, rather than just coming for the event as we'd done the year before. The staff were also really helpful when I realised I'd left something behind in our room.
The shower pipe and head kept falling off the wall every time you adjusted the tap. This and a crack in the basin suggested the bathroom was due an upgrade.

I stayed a couple of months ago on a fleeting last minute visit to break up a long journey, and came back this time with my wife and dog with a bit more time on our hands to fully enjoy the experience. We had lovely food and drinks in the bar area, and the double aspect room looked out over the beautiful golf course and had a lovely bed that gave us our best sleep away from home in along time. I walked our dog in the evening around the side of the golf course to find lovely fields where she could run and have fun safely. All the staff we met were happy, welcoming and very friendly.

The Olde Worlde feel with a modern twist. Stunning. From the moment we arrived to check out, I cannot complain about anything. We received a lovely welcome, our room was ready, which was perfect. Immaculately clean, fresh soft towels, it was wonderful. We stayed for one of the party nights, ours was Diva night which included a meal. The food was absolutely knock out. 5*, I could rave for another 500 words but would not come close to explain how good the food was. The hotel owner came to chat, she was lovely, a very elegant and classy lady who made everyone feel welcome. Breakfast the next morning was fabulous, a served carvery style with plenty of superb quality produce. Lots of pastry and cereals and juices on offer too. All in all and fabulous stay, we will definitely be back for another theme evening and stay over.
Nothing but a fridge in the room would be an added plus.

The setting was exceptional and the property simply perfect. Dinner was divine. Staff were absolutely lovely and helpful and overall the place was just fabulous. I will be returning with my partner in future.
We were there for Crufts as were a lot of other customers that weekend. I think on weekends with an event like that that perhaps a reduced per dog rate be offered considering the sheer volume of customers you will be having with dogs. This would make it more enticing to those bringing multiple dogs as £20 per dog for literally an overnight stay where people are leaving very early is a bit steep. In our case for example we were only there 13hr in total. Otherwise the place was fantastic.

Location is excellent , Car Parking & grounds also very good. Room & bathroom is spacious.
Room and bathroom, a bit dusty under the tables, when trying to find sockets. Bath was not particularly clean around the edges. Restaurant is extremely poor. Charging top rates for mediocre food. This is our third year here, and every time we have tried the restaurant, thinking, maybe last year was just a one off poor performance but obviously not. Seriously, they need to stop taking advantage of their guests, who are rather captive because of the location. We paid £98 for two people of two courses of mediocre soup, melon, chunk of dry beef, mash, a rock hard parsnip, a carrot and not enough jus/gravy. Glass of wine each and coffee, which was served very cold. Unbelievably over priced!

The staff were very friendly, professional and couldn't do enough for you. The room was clean, although a few minor issues. The grounds were lovely to walk around, and the hotel was very dog friendly as advertised.
However, there was a limit of food options - particularly more healthy. Fine dining was traditional more expensive fare. The bar had a limited menu -sandwiches and chips, fish and chips, steak and chips, burger and chips.... and breakfast was again lacking in healthier options.

Hotel was lovely, staff helpful and pleasant. Spa was lovely however regulars moaning at the kids for having a swim which was irritating
Breakfast is so expensive and not worth the money. One adult and two children cost £58.00 which I think is an absolute joke. There was barely any continental breakfast items which included panochocolates and cereals, no Crossiants, pancakes or even different types of breads, there was no fruit salad and only apple juice avaliable. So for 18£ my daughter ate a pack of Weetabix and a glass of water.

Our room was lovely with an exceptionally comfortable bed. The staff were delightful and could not do enough to be helpful and welcoming. The food at breakfast was fresh, well cooked and with a great selection. The evening meal, we ate from the a la carte menu, was delicious and beautifully cooked. We mistook the breakfast time on the last morning and arrived 20mins after it had finished, and while we would have been happy - being in the wrong, to have had a continental breakfast, because the chef was still in the kitchen, they insisted that we could still have a cooked choice. This was freshly cooked and nothing was too much trouble. So impressive. Thank you!
We loved the fact that the house is old so wouldn't be critical of it. It was cosy with a lovely warm and welcoming atmosphere.
