Opted for breakfast and dinner for the duration of our stay, the food was amazing each time, very generous breakfast size for the price as well! The room's were great as well, beds were very comfortable and the rooms were very clean and well kept. Staff at the front desk were incredibly friendly and helpful, amazing service from them across the two nights.

Shower was quite week but it was fine overall. While the food was great the service was very slow, often with a mostly empty restaurant, but even then the quality of the food was worth the wait. Small nit-pick but the mains sockets were in a very awkward place in the rooms, so my electronics were often placed on the floor (again very small problem and didn't really impact anything.)

Room was absolutely fine, though a little warm in the heatwave weather we had been having. Everything as expected. Dinner in restaurant was good. Staff all good

It would have been nice to have a little more choice at breakfast - the basic cereals, cooked breakfast items, OJ and coffee were all good but I would have preferred a continental option (some pastries) and perhaps some yoghurt. Some signs of neglect in places - paint a little tired, only one Iron in hallway and it was contaminated so didn't risk using it. No signs to reception from 'bar' entrance.

breakfast - - buffet style - help your self breakfast on a morning served here - very good. room - - ensuite shower room with toilet and sink and very thin toilet paper - room rating - average. dinner - - we had a sunday dinner - 2 courses starter and main course - - king prawns on toast with water cress - starter. and main course - - trio meat - belly pork, beef two small slices , and chicken leg, breast - with carrot, parsnip and four roast potatoes , with an extra veg side orders of mash potatoe and caulifl;ower cheese, cabbage for 2 persons sunday dinner - - both courses were cooked perfectly and were absolutely excellent quality - - both of us would recommened to anyone. and we will be coming back here sometime very soon staying sunday evening to have two sunday dinners again !! n + n hayward - gloucester - - sat 14th/sunday 15th/monday 16th december 2024.

Grout in bathroom could do with a refresh

Nice place, lots of parking space ,nice exterior and interior the place appeared far better than expected for the price I paid. Breakfast was good but cost extra (worth it).

Finding the place - largely due to road works, road closures and a busy road system that seems to be designed to confuse. I finally found it by coming up from the south on the M42, when I was initially coming down from the north! A sat-nav might have helped or it may have added to the confusion. Bathroom light / fan failed, heater did not work (it may simply have been switched off). Room was warm enough without it.

Room 132 was underneath a staircase and the floor above was so loud it was difficult to sleep. The location of room 132 meant there was no privacy as the bedroom window looked out into the car park so I had to keep the curtains closed. No light on bathroom mirror. No hairdryer. Bedroom chair was so well used it had no padding in the seat. The banging noise of every door throughout our section of the hotel plus the bar double doors as they shut (all day and night) really upset me and my partner. Having loud music playing in the bar whilst watching tv on mute was awful. It would have been nice to hear the tv instead. The bedroom tv remote was awful and not programmed correctly. A one fits all remote would allow full function of the buttons with the tv.

The staff were all really lovely, friendly and helpful. From reception, to the restaurant and the cleaning staff. An asset to the hotel. Bedroom comfy and tidy. Location excellent for NEC.

We were in the newer extension to the back of the hotel. Good price for the night but bathroom and bedroom could do with a bit of tlc.... some mould on a bathroom wall, fixtures had been replaced but filler not smoothed off and painted over. Walls really thin; could hear chap in an adjoining room on the phone and the person on the other end at 11pm. No WiFi

The location was nice, pretty straightforward to get to the motorway. Close proximity to a train station should you choose say to go to the NEC or Birmingham TC. The food was nice, the wait staff was very attentive, special recognition to Lily as she was very attentive when I went to the dining area for my evening meal, making sure I wasn't kept waiting if I wanted another drink ect. The elder ladies that run the breakfast in the morning were also very polite and well-mannered, I felt welcomed, and breakfast was pretty good as well, presented in a buffet style. Overall a nice venue with decent food and a good location, prices are reasonable with a nice selection in drinks. The local co-op is 5 minute walk away with affordable prices should you want to buy some extra supplies. Views from my window were spectacular, too bad I was too tired to watch the sunrise.

Not much to pick on really. There was what appeared to be an iron burn on the carpet and I found a metal pin on the carpet that could have caused some damage, the flow in the shower was poor which resulted in me having to hug the bar to which it was attached to get a decent rinse. The waymarking to the dining area from the residential zone is also poorly marked as I got lost along with several other patrons (a plaque or something on the door saying this is the dining area would help as the door looks like a secondary entrance to the kitchen or staff room)

Room clean, comfortable bed. Good shower in bathroom. Quiet when we stayed. Had a really good night's sleep. We stayed for 2 nights and was surprised to find room had been refreshed for 2nd night with bed being made, fresh towels placed in room, bathroom cleaned and tea making items restocked. This hasn't happened since covid at other places we have stopped in. Have reception open 24 hours, staff friendly, able to supply hairdryer which is not supplied in each room. Bar/restaurant onside connected by a corridor.

Poor mobile phone signal/WiFi, not actually a bad thing, but if you are wanting to stream alot may be a negative. Corridor in accommodation a little tired, looks like in process of redecorating, reception and bar area and room appears to have been done recently.

The location was excellent, facilities were good, we would stay again. The whole building was exciting to look at, especially with the time of year.

The room was a bit shabby in places, staines over the carpet, shower door wasn't secure but usable. Chipped paint on woodwork around the room. We paid for breakfast, but when we went to the restaurant all the food had gone and only got replaced when we asked so had to wait about 20 mins but when it arrived good quality.
