Aquanzi Lodge is an absolute gem within very easy reach of Johannesburg. Security is first class. The staff led by the most wonderful Natalie are all absolutely delightful. Nothing was too much trouble. The room, a little lodge on its own, was nothing short of absolute luxury. Every detail, including the bar, was so carefully thought about and immaculate. Breakfast by the pool was very special. The pools (yes two) were divine. One to swim with a Hippo I named Morris after a local man who was so welcoming with his partner. It was a retreat for me and I was looked after so wonderfully. Don’t bother with a modern hotel in town place. Go here. It’s also incredibly well priced and amazing value.

From the minute we walked through the gates at Aquanzi Lodge we knew we had stumbled across something special, Natalie and all her staff are amazing, friendly and welcoming. Our accommodation was rustic coming from the UK we hadn't had experience anything like it, this was all part of the African experience for us, the accommodation was fantastic our huge bed was amazing, we both slept extremely well, Breakfast, offered superb choices I had an omelette every morning which was extremely tasty. Our room was cleaned daily with fresh towel. The pool area was clean and immaculate. We will definitely be returning and telling our friends about this place.

This was my first trip to South Africa and it was exactly how I imagined to be. The Lodge is run by a lovely family with staff who provide excellent service. It is situated outside the city which was perfect as we were looking for a quiet and all-in-all place. The host upgraded us to a honeymoon suite, as it was our honeymoon, which was stunning. If you are looking for African style stay, this is your place.

Nothing whatsoever it was amazing

Very, very clean, decor is stunningly tasteful and beautiful, gardens are a dream. The bathroom decor was too beautiful. Very cozy, quiet, and most of all relaxing. I enjoyed all the bird sounds and peacefulness whilst sitting around the pool area. I took great delight in the beach sand around the pool area, felt like I was sitting at the beach surrounded by nature. The fact that I didn’t need to travel far for an experience made it so worthwhile.

The place is well looked after. Attention to detail with friendly helpful staff. We stayed in the executive suite, which was private and tranquil. Clean and neat, fully equipped self-catering. Loved this place and will be visiting again.

Nothing, actually. Just a braai grid to fit into the braai area as we only had a braai grill, which was small and too close to the fire.

The staff were very friendly, and the host, Natalie, was very welcoming. The rooms were cleaned to perfection and our self-catering Suite was very well stocked with the necessary utensils. It was a very restless stay.

My only advice would be to have microwave food plate covers so that the microwaves stay clean.

I left too early to have breakfast, but dinner from the restaurant was excellent. Friendly and helpful staff along with clean rooms and pools is all I could ask for. Good job.

Only two small complaints, there is no back-up plan for loadshedding, but South Africans can manage, and the pillows were very thin.

We enjoyed the African themed decor, comfortable arm chairs and bed, and the well equipped kitchenette. The gardens and birdlife also added to our enjoyment.

The description of the self catering kitchenette in the luxurious chalets could be better - it was confusing for visitors from overseas (Australia) where accommodation with a kitchenette would, as a standard inclusion, be equipped for self catering. At Aquanzi the nominal fee for 'self catering', which we didn't mind paying at all, was not mentioned in the original booking description and we couldn't understand what it was for. We're still not sure, but think it was to have utensils, crockery, cutlery etc stocked in the kitchenette - which it was, and it was all good.

Last night on our latest trip to SA. Decided to stay on the outskirts of Johannesburg this time and was very glad we did! Cracking lodge with wonderful units. All the facilities you could want, an oasis in the city. Will be back next time I'm in town with the wife.

Oh woooooow, my husband and I had a beautiful stay. We welcomed with utmost warmth and joy. Our bed and bathroom was everything we could ask for. The breakfast was breath taking with it's serenic views. We felt so comfortable and secured in the premises. We will definitely go back soon.
