The facilities in this hotel is great, kids just love it very much. Staffs are friendly and helpful as well. We were there for birthday celebration, the staffs were friendly and gave us the birthday card and gift. And in the hotel playground, the staffs also prepared anti slipper socks for kids, indeed thoughtful! Restaurant staff were friendly as well and the food was good (the Chinese restaurant).
However, there was one thing spoiled the whole stay, the staff who was supporting Mickey character for photo, was extremely unfriendly and rude, he pushed the kids away while Mickey finished and walked out. In Disney Land, the supporting staffs are very friendly and kind as they still allowed kids to hug the characters or princesses when photo shoots are finished. However, in the hotel, the staff just rudely disallowed kids to just interact with Mickey after the photo session. I don’t think this is what Disneyland and the hotel’s purposes? Maybe to consider additional training to this staff? I didn’t notice his name, but that was on 26th May 2024 (around noon time).

Have been staying here annually since 2017 (barring the pandemic) and still loving it! Love how spacious the hotel and rooms are, various activities to explore within the hotel compounds. Koey from reception was exceptional and efficient, and I love her attitude! The elderly staff that helps people get taxis (bellhop?) is an asset to the hotel, in my humble opinion. He helps us to get a big cab to accommodate our luggages from all the way out from the hotel.
Staffs weren't as friendly and engaging as before the pandemic. Only got 1 sticker from a cast member (throughout our 5 nights stay) as compared to previous visits where we came home with hundreds of them! Celebrated our younger son's birthday for the first time, but there isn't any more of the folded towels with Disney characters and personalised names on it. I am SO very disappointed, unlike previous times when we celebrated my and eldest son's birthday here. Staffs at gift shop wasn't welcoming as before as well, very perfunctory and not smiling at all. Perhaps all of the staffs are overwhelmed by the sheer volume of people at the resort after the pandemic and forgot all about the Disney magic 😒

We booked this hotel - 2 adults and two kids and when we got there we were explained that in the small print the breakfast was only the adults and we had to pay a lot for the kids. It’s definitely a con and a way to make money. This is not obvious nor explained at the time of purchased and we were not the only family saying this. It seems a real shame especially when you think you’ve paid for breakfast. It’s a con when your child is 5 and eats one pancake and gets charged 50 bucks.

Nice and easy access to disney and the airport.
Paying such a high price and the hotel expect customers to pay for toiletries with reason that they support sustainability. But u can buy the toiletries. This add to their profit. To me, this doesn’t make sense. Should at least provide as a welcome gift on the first day.

the lodges are brilliant, a nice littel stay, although a little on the expensive side. but if you have kids, perfect choice for a nice family treat. The room was spacious. The staff, from the cleaners, to the check-in staff, to the concierge are very friendly. No water is not provided in bottles but in a dispenser, in efforts to reduce plastic wastage I guess! which is a fab move. The rooms do have a slightly musty smell though, but not as bad as some rooms we have stayed at on our trip so far. I would definitely recommend and if budget allowed, would stay here again! They provide a free shuttle to Disneyland.
They do not offer any discount (not even a little), for park entry, even as a Disneyland hotel guest! Prior to checking in, I did ask about airport shuttles, which they said they didn't have. But did not take the initiative to say there was a free shuttle from disneyland resort to the hotel that way, which might have been useful and more budget friendly for me than having to pay for a taxi from the airport to the hotel - which is not cheap.

Disney Explorers Lodge is the newest property/hotel amongst the 3 Disney has on the island. This hotel opened in 2017. Not really sure if it is the most affordable (note this is still Disney, so expect to spend), but a quick Google search will show that it potentially is. Anyway, just book any of the 3 properties. You will not regret. If you have kids, they will forever have cherished memories. Guaranteed. This property has 3 restaurants, a nice large recreational pool, a kiddie play area and 4 gardens to explore. The cast members from the front desk, to the gift shop, to the restaurants are all very professional and friendly. One of head waiters/managers at Dragon Wind (Chinese restaurant) even advised us to just call the front desk if we needed to have the food we had wrapped warmed up for future consumption. My family deeply appreciated this because we did not want the food to go to waste especially since we are unable to finish all the generous servings in one sitting. The hotel is also very organized. There are buses that charter you from the property to the main theme park from park opening to closing. Also, they have a great system and an area where you can leave your luggages and bags in case you plan to check out and still spend the day at the main park. My reco is to leave your things at the hotel storage area instead of the park's because the one at the park is often full. You will also have to fight for space with non-hotel guests if you opt for the park storage area. Hence, bottom line is stop thinking and start booking! Disneyland Resort and Park will truly give you and your family a magical experience!
We should have stayed an extra night, so we could have enjoyed the pool. That is on us. Obviously the price of the food at the restaurants could be friendlier to the wallet, but this was expected. It is Disney, and you should be prepared to spend. It is a holiday with the family, so you should expect to spend. Magical memories come at a price. Thus, if you are able to afford, it is so worth it!

Room for two has free breakfast included but room for three does not have free breakfast. At least give us 2 free breakfast and we can pay the other one.
No free breakfast for room of three

Everything. I love Disney Explorers Lodge. So clean and so comfortable. Everyone is so nice and helpful
They started charging for their bathroom tins, that include toothbrush, toothpaste, etc. I feel like they should give 1 complimentary tin per night or per stay at least, and then charge any additional ones. We didn’t request for towel changes but we would hang ours in our spots. Upon returning at the end of the day, there would be folded towels which we assumed were new even if we didn’t request it. Few days later, I noticed the folded towel was wet. I think they were getting our used towels in their designated spots and then folding them. So for a couple of days, we were sharing each others towels without realising it 🥲

We requested a connecting room for birthday celebration. Hotel did arrange two connecting rooms for us. Comfort Bedding and Rooms are clean with adequate towels and utensils for our family. Delicious Buffet breakfast are included (Kids aged 11 need to pay on top)
Could only book swimming session on the day but not the next morning (request to walk-in for waiting) Reception should have notified guests the peak hour for having breakfast at Check-in. We have been queueing up for 45 minutes to get a seat for breakfast. Try to avoid having breakfast between 9.15 a.m. and 10 .15 a.m.!!!

Each staff member who attended us was extremely friendly and helpful at all times. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, shower was perfect with great pressure, house keeping was thorough and there was substantial amounts of shampoo/conditioner/lotion. The front desk/concierge assisted me with currency exchange, Disney park tickets, directions, taxi's, baggage storage and advice on places to visit and were always professional and efficient. The shuttle bus was very convenient and we never had to wait very long during our 3 night stay in early November 2024. We ate at the World of Color Restaurant once for a casual lunch and the food and service was fantastic. In conclusion the stay was a wonderful experience and I would not hesitate to stay there again or recommend to friends or family.
Everything was great, but due to environmental reasons additional toiletries must be purchased if required. This didn't affect my stay as I was aware of this and brought my own.
