The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was beautifully decorated, every need was met, plenty of lights, comfortable bed and pillows. Room heater, heated towel rail in the shower room. Eco liquid soap and shower gel dispenser. Huge shower head, in the walk in shower. Desk, hair dryer, iron & board, suitcase stand. The breakfasts were delicious and freshly cooked. Continental breakfast laid out ready. The meals in the restaurant were fabulous! So full of flavour and beautifully presented. Excellent value for money and a lovely atmosphere throughout. We will happily stay there again!

My first solo trip away! Even though I am confident in most scenarios, going to Stratford- Upon-Avon was outside my comfort zone. Very friendly staff and a big thanks to Daniel (day one) for making me welcome and Heather this morning for a lovely breakfast. Both took a keen interest in the client (me) so well done to them. The room was excellent and very clean. Although the stairs are steep to the rooms above the pub, this was pointed out so no problem from my point of view. You do get a bit of noise from the main road but you are in the town centre so to be expected. The pub isn't noisy on a mid week break at this time of year so getting a table wasn't an issue. Wi-Fi is also excellent throughout the hotel (so I could watch football and cricket with no lag). Good selection of lagers on draft and a couple of ales on pump. Although not a gin drinker, I noticed they have an excellent selection. Dinner on day two, very nice, breakfast this morning, even better. If I ever decide to go back and see the random bloke from history who is featured heavily in the town, I will be going back to The Pen and Parchment by Green King

We were told breakfast was from 7-11am but we almost missed it as it’s until 9am and we went at 9.10am! They accommodated us but I think stopping at 9am is a bit early when you are on holiday! Also staircase to rooms very steep and narrow, so very tricky to take cases up and down.

Great location very friendly staff. The hotel was very clean and tidy. Would stay here again. Minor issue with the bath hand rail and the staff were very understanding and helpful they were amazing.

Perfect location right on the edge of town and only a few minutes taxi ride from the station. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Rooms were kept clean and tidy, great food, an extremely comfortable bed, loved the blackout curtains and the shower was far better than the one I have at home....... I couldn't ask for more!

The location was a tad noisy at times in the night with partygoers making their way home but this was passing noise, I had both windows open and it was a saturday night in town - to be expected really. Saying that, with such a comfortable bed, I was soon fast asleep again!

On arrival the pub was busy and there was a queue at the bar, I asked a passing member of staff where the check in was for the hotel. He made a very sarcastic point that we were three hours early to check in. He came across very rude. I think he saw how taken aback I was and then started to try and make jokes. No need to be rude and have an attitude towards a couple who just wanted to know if there was a safe place to leave their bag so they could get on and enjoy their weekend away! A little weird guy. Shouldn't be front of house. Won't be going back.

The central location next to the river, the town centre, and the theatre is ideal.. The breakfast was excellent and filling before a busy day around town, and theatre shows I was there when the Christmas markets were on, too. It was a busy time, but it was excellent value. Friendly staff. I had a double room with plenty of space in the bathroom and a decent shower.

The room was a little cold when I got there. I realised you had to switch the heater on, and then it was fine.

Friendly staff and all very helpful. Nice location and old worldly ambience. Good breakfast and relaxed place.

I had to pay twice as the booking.com virtual payment did not go through. This spoiled an otherwise very nice stay. When booking out I was told to take this up with booking.com which annoyed me as I was led to believe all was well with the confirmation emails I had received. I understand the hotel are not to blame but the experience is spoiled non the less.

Such a lovely little hotel - food was excellent, staff lovely and our room was beautiful. We stayed in the annex which was ideal. So convenient for the theatres - a 5 minute walk max.

Can’t really fault our stay. The only thing I would change is a softer mattress - but that’s particular to me as a harder mattress kills my back!

The service provided in the room, it could not be faulted. Whoever was responsible for cleanliness was very professional, room was cleaned in our absence without any inconvenience to us.

Only one problem, on consecutive days there was no full menu in bar. Bar staff very apologetic, this must be soul destroying customers walking in being told very politely no food available to be cooked consequently customers turning around and walking out.
