Really good value stay with excellent accommodation and facilities. One minor problem was promptly dealt with. Very good choice at breakfast and delivered to the table efficiently and pleasantly, especially on our second morning. Kippers were a treat! Others' choices were enjoyed. Public spaces were relaxed and oozing with character, really great spaces to spend time in.

Our only issue was with the temperature in the room (the corridors were toasty!) It was a common problem for guests as we heard quite a few similar conversations being had at Reception. You really do need to help your guests more. Tell them about the controls/the 25 deg cutout/the 'master' controls which Reception can use to reset the system. Tell them, as well, about the switch on the bathroom heated towel rail. Once we knew all that, we too were toasty! Ooh, something else. Important! The kettle was a bit of a health hazard as the cable had to be stretched to the socket or squeezed onto the bedside table. Also, t he bathroom wall lights flopped about (if you fiddled with them) in and out of their mountings. We stopped fiddling.

Outstanding overall cosy accommodation in a beaut location. Ensuite was modern & a quite exceptional rain head shower. Heated towel rail was super efficient. Breakfast (incl in price) had multiple hearty choices with attentive service. Front desk Girls couldn't have been more helpful & the complimentary 'Counter Shortbread Treats" were delicious with a cuppa in our room for supper !!! Of course the historical factor (originally built pre 1500's !!) attracted us intially & we were so impressed with how it all looked now.

Lighting was somewhat dim in our room (124) & a simple desk lamp would be so helpful - difficult to use a laptop. Also best to drop ones luggage off close to either front or rear entrances then sort out a carpark. We used the GBP7 per 24hrs off Greenhill St with success.

Excellent breakfast + most attentive + joyful service. The warmth of the welcome when stepped into Reception. The kindness of being able to have plant milk even though I forgot to include it on my initial requests. The

I wasn’t able to adjust the temperature of the air con in my room + though your Receptionist did adjust it for me, I would have actually switched it off because of the intermittent whirring, but I was unable to. In the notes provided in the bedroom it clearly says you can adjust the controls in the room. It didn’t spoil my experience but would have made it a little quieter.

I used to stay here all the time – I often come to Stratford – until the refurbishment in 2012 when the prices pretty much doubled. However, on this occasion the price was really competitive and it was lovely to be back. I like the location, the old building is wonderful, the staff are professional and courteous, the place is spotlessly clean. The breakfast was nice.

A one-night stay generated 12 emails. Too many businesses do this and I end up having to delete dozens of emails a day. We couldn't get the coffee machine in the room to work. It was one of those contraptions that use little environment-busting capsules; there was a kettle and teabags but no other means to make a coffee. In one of the endless emails, perhaps they could suggest guests bring their own coffee?

Very good position, within easy walking distance of restaurants and the theatre which is why we were staying in Stratford. Good choice for breakfast. Bar area very cosy with log fires. The atmosphere of the hotel is very warm and welcoming. It's not big and soulless and the price of the room was very reasonable. We liked the pictures and the works of Shakespeare which are dotted around the hotel.

Check in could have been quicker. We had to wait 25 - 30 minutes to get properly checked in as there was a party collecting luggage from the luggage room and who were just milling around the desk doing nothing and we weren't seen to although I had already spoken with reception to let them know we had arrived. It wasn't a particular problem, though, as we weren't in a hurry. Heating/air conditioning was a bit noisy in the room.

WOW - in a word - EVERYTHING! Beautiful hotel, decorated wonderfully, with fun, quirky references to their town's favourite son everywhere. The staff were so keen to be helpful. The room was spacious, quiet, comfortable and they even thought about how to make the view looking out on a rooftop interesting (with statues and greenery). The bathroom amenities were more than we ever see in our UK travels (even hand lotion and hair conditioner!) with plenty of towels. Right on the main street in town, but very quiet. And the breakfast - absolutely superb! The continental breakfast was full of gorgeous pastries and a range of fruits and cereals, and the hot menu featured not just the standard English breakfast, but french toast, delicious pancakes, etc. Its an old building (circa 1450!), so be prepared for the standard English hotel experience of mutiple sets of small stairs and firedoors to get to your room. But they do a great job of signposting the reception area, so didn't get lost once. And it was so nicely decorated and well-maintained that it just added to the ambiance, rather than being irritating. Will absolutely be back and tell all my friends to stay with you - an absolute pleasure to stay there and great value for money...

Seriously, they thought of everything! Only minor complaint was the wifi had to be re-entered each morning and wasn't consistent.

2 nights running we were kept awake by doors banging and loud noise. The male staff were behind the bar were unhappy and kept us waiting for over 10 minutes for a drink and the bar was not full or busy. There were 2 weddings on the Saturday which made the experience uncomfortable and we went elsewhere for food and drinks as we waited 25 minutes to be served.

The older gentleman behind the bar was lovely and so was the front of house lady. The breakfast was lovely and we only booked upon recommendation of family who frequently use the establishment.

What a lovely hotel with a perfect location. On arrival we noticed how beautifully decorated it was for Christmas. We were greeted by a helpful receptionist (sorry we didn't get her name) and directed to our room. The room was lovely with a large bathroom and very comfortable beds. There were a great selection of beverages after our long drive from Cheshire. The breakfast was amazing with loads to choose from the menu. We will definitely return in the New Year and would highly recommend this lovely hotel for a central location in Stratford.

This is are second time staying here at The Swan after our last visit it was a must to stay again. Well this visit was perfect just like the first we were celebrating our 60th Birthdays so thank you for the card/ lovely gift. It's a great location, wonderful staff , fab food & great comfy room yet again. All was all good, but perhaps a room with a view would be nice as the back of the hotel looks on to waste ground & on both occasions are room has been here but I'm just being picky as this Hotel is fab.

Lovely old building and kept very well. Full English breakfast was top tear, not your usually plate full of greasy food. location is great, parking is right behind the hotel and main attractions are all within minutes walk. plenty of restaurants, cafes and bars to visit.

The bathroom could of been tidier. It was clean enough, and had obviously had a revamp, but was looking tired around the shower seals and tiling. Toilet seat was broken and base seemed to be weeping at the bottom. As there was no smell and we were only staying for one night this didn't bother us.
