We were in Newcastle to attend a family wedding. Lisa and Linda were amazing looking after us from the minute we arrived. Alex helped me get ready for the wedding when I had a wardrobe malfunction. Thank you girls for making our stay amazing. The only fault we found was some foreign staff male and female making a joke of me trying to tailor a vegetarian dish, mocking me in their own language. I think it was Polish we could make out some of what was being said. It was rather embarrassing and unnecessary!

Some staff speaking amongst themselves in foreign, polish language. We felt this was unnecessary and inappropriate especially speaking about guests in their language. Disappointing, embarrassing and unprofessional!

Beautiful and convenient location. Lovely staff Very comfortable room.

Too hot...but I should have turned down thermostat before bed. My robe was dirty The door spring was so strong it slammed automatically with noise. Likewise the housekeeping room immediately outside #5 which woke us at 7.30

We've had a perfect stay in Jesmond Dene house over the festive period, so much so that we extended our stay for an extra night, the room was wonderful and the food at "fern" was exceptional wither it was for breakfast of dinner, the bed was very comfortable and were lucky to have good weather which allowed for lovely walks in Jesmond Dene.

The Room's bathroom design was a bit awkward, also it felt at times that service was not always consistent as the more regular staff were excellent but some of the temporary staff need more training, it will be nice to see additional facilities added the the house such as a spa or gym as it will really add the an already great place.

Very friendly, helpful and accommodating staff. Comfortable room with luxurious bathroom - heated bathroom floor was very lovely too. Very thoughtful to leave fresh milk in room fridge. Breakfast was excellent. Very good quality ingredients in the cooked options. We had a very good bar meal too one evening. The mattress was rather hard for us, but staff kindly provided a mattress topper.

We originally booked a suite but they're mostly in a separate annex which didn't appeal at all. And, personally, I would expect a suite to have a separate sitting room rather than simply being a larger room with extra seating. A fitness room on the premises would be good though I was made aware of the David Lloyd facility @£15 per day. Needs another light in the seating area of room 32.

The property is beautiful, with an excellent location, very easy access to the Metro, 10 minutes from Newcastle centre, Lovely walks through the Dene. The food was lovely and the set Dinner menu was very good value for money.

The approach to hotel doesn’t make a good first impression, with derelict buildings to the left of the driveway, this could do with screening off. The outside seating area could have been a little more inviting, but there is work going on in the garden so maybe this will be addressed before the summer. A member of the Bar staff with long hair that he continually pushed back while preparing drinks was off putting, I feel he should have been made to tie this back when on duty. The lighting in the bar area could be improved it’s too dark and needs brighter lamps.

Room was comfortable. The bathroom had a heated floor. There were nice mince pies waiting for us in the room. The location is very nice. The last time we stayed there we had a very nice dinner.

The room was a little small. Breakfast was not included. The last time we stayed there, the breakfast service was terribly slow and very expensive. This time we did not use the breakfast service. I received a phone call from the hotel a couple of days before checking in to get some information about who was travelling with me. But none of this seems to have been entered in the system since they asked us all this again when we checked in.

Room was beautiful. Bed was so comfortable and provisions in room we good. Breakfast either in room or in breakfast room was lovely, staff were eager to help throughout our stay. Had lunch on the terrace which was fantastic, but the main reason for our stay was my daughter's wedding. which was wonderful, staff were brilliant with delivering everything plus more on the day and night sessions.

Kettle lid didn't fit, so carried on boiling! such a small item to say didn't like but wanted to note how excellent service was as I spoke to reception and their replaced it within 5 minutes. As it was hot days, we only got one water bottle of each sparkling and still - which wasn't replaced on seconded day as room was being used for wedding preparation, so think more water would be great x

Very comfortable with lots of historic character and lovely and warm for an unexpectedly chilly evening. Really enjoyed our meal in the restaurant which we considered good value. Bedroom was comfortable and good sized modern bathroom. Staff all lovely and helpful. Lovely woodland setting in a convenient location in one of the nicest areas of Newcastle.

Limited (although private outlook) from second floor bedroom at the rear of main building. Had to ask for candle on table in restaurant because they had run out of oil for the lamps which made restaurant and bar rather too dark but this was just a temporary and minor issue.

Plenty of parking; quiet location but convenient for busier areas of Newcastle such as Jesmond.

Not a 'dislike' but a suggestion: The hotel's info about activities didn't include parkrun (free weekly 5k events at 9am every Saturday morning), despite Jesmond Dene parkrun being on the hotel's doorstep, with other events within reach. Becoming 'parkrun friendly' could boost the hotel's bookings for Friday nights (assuming it's not always fully booked). Jesmond Dene parkrun is, I believe, one of only 2 parkruns in the UK with initial J, so is likely to attract many parkrun tourists doing the alphabet challenge. It would require minor concessions: booking out at midday and probably breakfast extended to 11am, which could be by prior arrangement only.

We stayed in a beautiful, if a little small, room. Bed was quite firm but room was spotless with a large bathroom. It got a little warm and there's no air-con (listed building) we could only open one tiny window. Breakfast was a delight, superbly cooked options with a lovely fresh buffet. We had 1 dinner from the short menu (Sunday & late) which was really good and very tasty. Staff were attentive when needed. Lovely area for an evening walk too. We stayed 3 nights.

Room small, bathroom huge (a big step into the bath for the overhead shower, although I am short!)
