It is a great hotel with great facilities and friendly, helpful and competent staff. It was perfect for our requirements. Breakfast is superb with a wide variety (amazing local fruit) and eggs cooked according to your personal requirements to perfection. They arranged shuttle buses and accommodated a late check-out. When I arrived and realised that my safe wasn't working, maintenance fixed it within half an hour of my arrival. They also installed a fridge immediately as there was one missing. The location was perfect for me as it was close to my family, and is quiet and in the winelands but it is about 30 minutes from the city centre and Wayerfront. But easy and cheap to get an Uber. Overall it was a very pleasant stay and I would have no hesitation to recommend it.

We stayed here as an extended family group and had 4 rooms with kitchenettes altogether. The kichenettes are not fully kitted out (e.g. no crockery) and some have fridges, others had a microwave, some had asmall cooking ring etc. It was very random and inconsistent as to which room had which facilities. Having said that, it is not self-catering and all you really need is a fridge and it is nice to have a sink. There is a kettle with tea and coffee making facilities in every room.

Everything was very comfortable and all the staff were so kind and welcoming. My son (6) and I had the most enjoyable stay, and the staff were so accommodating and patient with my little boy in ways that went above and beyond what I could have asked for. For example, being willing to make him something from the lunch menu for dinner. They referred to him by name and made him feel like a person, and that really meant a lot to us both. They were also willing to listen to his stories when he chatted to them instead of brushing him off. They were truly kind. Every single member of staff we came across - down to the security guard who ensured my little boy that we would be safe. This is a very special hotel run by special people with big hearts.

N/A. Not really something, but a double point plug in the room would be appreciated for those of us dumb enough to forget ours.

Upon arrival at the Protea Hotel Durbanville, the check-in process was a seamless ballet of efficiency and courtesy, leaving a favorable first impression. The apartment assigned to me was a haven of modern elegance, meticulously designed and furnished. It was only in the morning light that I fully grasped the grandeur and spaciousness of this unexpected upgrade. The bed, a cloud of comfort, embraced me in its plush duvet and pillows. The breakfast, a symphony of flavors, was a delightful start to the day, worthy of a renowned hotel chain.

We enjoyed the smaller scale breakfast compared to a large hotel. Excellent breakfast, catering for all choices. Nice selection of dinner and lunch menus.We invited family members around for a lovely lunch next to the pool & the staff were very accommodating and helpful in organising tables etc. It was also great to have on site fenced parking with secuity guard at the drive in entrance. I, particularly liked the fact, that I did not have to use a lift.

There was nothing we did not enjoy and will definately stay at this hotel again !

From the check in desk where I got a warm welcome from pretty ladies, to the gentleman that carried my suitcase to my room, to the gorgeous room, double shower and comfy beds, to the delicious breakfast and sad farewell - I loved it. Really a memorable stay - thanks so much.

All 3 aircons was on minus 20 when I arrived in my room. It was freezing. I would also recommend some plug points in the breakfast restaurant to allow us to charge some devices before we hit the road again. But other than that - it was great!

Easy, smooth check-in process after we made a last-minute booking due to previous accommodation booked not being acceptable to sleep in. Staff was friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast included was a plus and a huge time saver for us who had to leave early in the morning. The room was spacious, the bedding was comfortable, and the bathroom was supplied with enough towels and amenities. We also had a peaceful night of sleep.

No complaints - the hotel room offers you all that is necessary for a good night's sleep.

The location is great for day trips to many tourist attractions and wine farms! Breakfast was good with a wide choice of food. The restaurant food is tasty and the portions are hearty! We have stayed in this hotel previously and will stay again!

There was a food/wine festival in the car park of the hotel which was a bit disruptive as we couldn’t park in the hotel grounds. When we checked out this meant we had to lug our suitcases a fair distance to the car!

The room was clean and comfortable. Despite it being located right next to the pool and lounge, it was soundproof and allowed for a good and early night's rest. The staff all the way from reception to the restaurant were wonderful, friendly and accommodating,and really made us feel welcome. The check-in process is effortless and very quick!

The minibar fridge in the room was a bit loud and didn't really keep our water or snacks cold, but it really isn't a deal breaker.

We checked in for a second night due to the Cape Town heat as we have a young baby, and the staff was very accommodating once again. Check-in was efficient and friendly. They assisted with carrying our bags to the room. We also had a pleasant surprise when we discovered they upgraded our room for us. The room itself was great! Spacious, clean, and modern. We also tried their room service. The food was good and reasonably priced.
