Green Lodge is in convenient position- 5 minute walk to railway station(approx.25 mins.across to city of Liverpool). Hoylake beach is also 5 min.stroll from hotel. I didn’t have breakfast, but liked how small area in pub was set aside for it. Enjoyed two evening meals though- good menu choice. Huge thumbs up to Simon and Jim…made a single female traveller feel most welcome…excellent Marston Inn staff.

Bedroom was great size and very comfortable bed. Ample hanging space. There was secondary glazing & these upvc windows I could close, but not the outside “original windows” which made the room a little cooler than I’d prefer.

The Green Lodge, Hoylake is ideally situated with access to coastal walks and the Royal Liverpool Golf Course. It is part of the Marston Inns pub chain serving excellent food and a good selection of beers and ales as well as a range of non-alcoholic drinks. There are six comfortable bedrooms with ensuite facilities and a good choice of breakfasts is served in the dining area. Staff were hospitable and friendly making our three-night stay a pleasant and relaxed experience.

Check-in was easy and flexible, as was check-out. My room was spacious and different from the ‘standard’ hotel layout, a little more character. I woke early and enjoyed a walk down to the prom at 05:00, and the 24h access to the rear was useful for this, didn’t feel like I was bothering anyone. I spent my teens and early 20s in Hoylake and Meols, a lovely part of the world, nice to return to. I didn’t have time for breakfast but appreciated that it was available at a good price if needed.

The food was delicious and portions very generous. The staff were extremely helpful and efficient and the room we were staying in was large, very clean and bright. We were made to feel welcome and the atmosphere was good.

The only thing we did not like was the mattress in our bed which was so hard that we both felt bruised the following morning. Also there was only one chair in a room for two people and no comfortable arm chair at all.

We have stayed there many times. The rooms are comfortable. The moisturiser in the bathroom is super. Breakfast is good and times are flexible. A nice change. Staff are very friendly. It’s easy to check in.

This is a true "Pub Facility" with a fitting room offer. Food and drinks are as you would expect from a well managed Pub! Very friendly staff and swift service. I liked it very much. The location is close to the beach and also close to the train station. Perfect for trips into Liverpool. Good value for your money!

I was impressed by the room it was very nice and better than i was expecting, good sized room, it was really clean, the bed was comfortable room had a decent sized tv in a good position on the wall, this was better than the budget hotels at the same price or dearer. Could not fault it whatsoever would happily stay again.

There wasn't anything i didn't like

Staff are just wonderful. It's a lovely thing to be so welcomed and looked after . Among the nicest I've met. Lovely rooms, quiet location. Good food warm pub in winter. One of the best places I've stayed in. Taught me there's no need to pay high prices for a good stay. Very nice indeed. Rooms warm on the cold day I stayed. Shower was good. Bed comfy.

There's nothing not to like. It's a lovely place to stay.

Had a lovely stay over the weekend at Green Lodge. The train station is a 5 minute walk from the hotel. It is a 5 minute train ride to West Kirby and 25 minutes to Liverpool Centre. Our room was clean and spacious and there were no complaints to be had. Check in and out was a breeze and staff were friendly and pleasant. Will stay again

The staff are amazing. Nothing was tomuch. The food was delicious, the beds so comfortable i wish i could take it home.

The stairs leading to the rooms are steep and difficult , one room had 3 stairs down to the bathroom too an issue if you are disabled. Being an old building stairs are to be expected but a note on the booking site would be helpful
