I recently had the pleasure of staying at Shelder Hotel, and I must say that the experience was exceptional, thanks largely to the outstanding staff. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed with genuine smiles and impeccable hospitality. Throughout my stay, the staff consistently exceeded my expectations. They were incredibly attentive, always available to offer assistance. What truly stood out was their ability to anticipate my needs before I even expressed them. Whether it was housekeeping accommodating my schedule or the concierge arranging last-minute reservations, their dedication was evident. The genuine care and attention to detail displayed by every staff member turned my stay into a memorable experience. I can not recommend Shelder Hotel highly enough.

Cute well located small hotel very close to the sea and convenient for the ferry port. All the staff were welcoming and helpful. I travelled with 2 small dogs and had a great ground floor room opening onto a small lawn. Well decorated, clean and comfortable. Easy to walk along the promenade into Cherbourg. Great restaurant and small bar on site which served home cooked dinner and a decent continental breakfast. Great choice if you are travelling or visiting the area.

Very easy access to the coastal paths for excellent walks. Dog friendly. Home cooked food. Only a few miles from the port terminal. Very friendly staff who readily understood and responded.. English spoken very well. Very quiet hotel. Breakfast was cheese and cooked meats, eggs or pastries and cereals.

Cherbourg is a nightmare at present with the roadworks causing mayhem, not the hotels fault obviously, hut a 5 minute drive took us 45 minutes to get to the hotel. These are major works. Shower was unable to be adjusted for height so kneeling down was best way to shower. Hotel response to the issue was swift when we notified them on departure. No tea making facilities in the room. Room felt very cramped, bathroom was small and difficult to get into the shower and out of it as shower screen was fixed to the bath.

A very nice and quiet place, away from the noise of busy streets with a sea view from the terrace where you can sit and eat on warm days or drink coffee. Very nice and helpful staff. The double room I used was not very large, but for me it was comfortable enough during the trip to rest. Of course the room had a bathroom. Very clean and tidy. The hotel is located on a very quiet street and is just a few steps to several grocery stores, a bar and other shops selling various goods. The sea is also about 200-300 meters away from the hotel, very close. I sincerely recommend and will certainly use this hotel in the future. Greetings to all the staff. Thomas

Warm welcome from the staff who were very agreeable and professional. Lovely very copious dinner (nothing fancy but still very good). Basic room but perfect for just one night. Nice to have a secure car park, too.

All was fine but we were welcomed and served by one member of the staff who was wearing cotton gloves all the time. We noticed he was sweating a lot which made us wondered if he had Covid. Oddly enough, 3 days after my husband and I tested positive.

In the morning when I wanted to checkout, all the staff was outside smoking. Nobody inside and plenty of people were still having breakfast They saw me sitting there but they weren’t bothered to come and check what I want. After 10 min I left the card there and went out with the intention to leave and not pay. When I told the guy he quickly threw away the cigarette and came in Really really poor. Don’t understand why a staff of 6 had to go in the same time for a smoke for over 10 min while people were waiting at reception On the other hand the chap that checked us in was very polite and helpful

Well appointed Bedrooms and Restaurant. Family owned and run. Staff were all extremely friendly and Food was excellent and great value. Nice Beach close by - great for walking the Dog ( which we could take into the Restaurant for Dinner ). A very enjoyable stay - we will certainly book again when we are taking the Ferry

Exceptional staff and food, great value. A proper dog friendly hotel too which is good to. Breakfast was awesome, plenty for a fussy eater . Dinner was great too, all homemade. Handy for the ferry and very easy parking. Rooms were very modern and opened outside for dogs, beds very comfortable

Noise and doors in the hallway can be heard but blocked out with earplugs it a light sleeper

The warm welcome from the staff, the cleanliness of the room, plenty of free parking and although a limited evening menu what we had to eat was well worth the money and very tasty and fresh . The decoration and whole ambience of the room and hotel was one that should see this hotel being rated as a four star establishment.

A little way out of Cherbourg, but that has a bonus as it was close to a nice beach and encouraged us to drive along the shore line and visit some very nice villages.

Easy check in and very polite staff throughout our stay. We only had a meal in the restaurant one night but it was homemade and delicious (cod & chips)

We stayed 4 nights but after using the complimentary tea and coffee on the first day they wasn't replaced the whole stay, we went and bought our own tea, coffee and milk.
