We preplanned our one-night stay before our 7 a.m. flight from Vancouver back home to Texas. Staying within the actual airport was perfect. We walked out of the lobby and into the airport terminal at 5 a.m. I literally searched for hotels close to YVR and this Fairmont came up. We had never stayed in a Fairmont before -ultimate luxury. We even enjoyed a dip in the indoor pool and soaked in the hot tub - all while looking out the window at the airport terminal below. We also thoroughly enjoyed cocktails and dinner at the Jetside Lounge. A wonderful end to our week in Vancouver and Victoria.

We would have liked a concession type store on location to buy softdrinks, as we didn’t want to use our minibar.

This is the highest end option if you plan an overnight stay at Vancouver airport before a morning flight. The room was fine, not as nice as other Fairmonts I have stayed in, but comfortable. The hotel bar food was not great and very, very expensive. The staff, particularly at check in, is very professional as you would expect at a 5 star hotel. This is not a cheap option but the better amenities and the fact it is in the airport probably make it worthwhile over other area options. Vancouver airport hotels are really stupidly expensive.

It seems ridiculous to spend almost $400 for an airport hotel quick overnight stay.

lovely room but maybe not used very often, 13 floor with lovely view of the mountains and the runway. As I was only here a few weeks ago I knew where everything should be and how to work it. room service were brilliant and I had a lovely mushroom soup with a grilled sourdough cheese sandwich, brilliant, I'd had very poor food service on the plane and was starving.

was missing the full length mirror as there was a connecting door which I pushed too and ensured it clicked as it appeared to not be shut properly. no bath mat, so I used a hand towel. coasters on the tray but no water glasses on them, no disposal bin in the wc, no liners in the rubbish bins. no biscuits (I'd had my own on the outward journey) available, could do with some to buy if not gratis.

Good option for a long layover with an early flight the next morning. Comfortable room with big windows and a good view. Easy check-out made this super convenient.

We found the hotel quite difficult to find from within the airport. Having arrived on a late flight from Mexico, we were tired and ready for bed but the lack of clear signage made the trek from baggage claim to the hotel entrance long and arduous. We did ask airport staff but they weren't much help either — not the hotel's fault, but another reason they might want to try to improve wayfinding or messaging to visitors on how best to get there.

The airport location is ultra convenient. We live on Vancouver Island and need to travel, typically by ferry, to reach the airport. Ferries are sometimes cancelled due to weather, so we always come a day early to catch a plane to vacation destinations. The Fairmont is perfect for this. The rooms are large, well-furnished and -appointed and are a great way to launch into travel. On this trip, we were returning from vacation and our flight landed at midnight. It was wonderful to walk 5 minutes to our hotel, check in a be in bed by 12:30. The comfort of the room was just what we needed after a day's travel, and Fairmont knows comfort better than almost any hotelier. The price is a premium, but good value.

At premium prices, one would expect free wifi. Even budget hotels deliver that. It seems odd that the more you pay for a room, the less likely you are to get free wifi. :(

Very convenient location for the airport and the drop of the car. Comfortable night. I like the fact that you can check in bit earlier and check out bit later than most hotels. Lovely bathroom.

Blocked toilet and creamer in the room was off. I did receive complementary coffee, but i think the creamer should be checked in the first place. Also we had problems with booking restaurant. Had to wait for half an hour only to find out that they will not serve the bar dishes in the restaurant. Had to leave the table. There were no free seats in the bar, so had the meal in the room in the end, for which we were charged extra for room service On to of all these the meal was more than disappointing. All these made it a bit difficult considering that the hotel is away from the town, so no choice of the restaurants in the first place.

I really enjoyed the restaurant here. I loved being able to take a bubble bath. The bed is super comfortable and they allowed me in early check-in so that I could rest up after a late night out. The location is for catching an early flight and is surprisingly quiet, even though it’s in the airport.

The TVs are large with a lot of channels, but I feel like they could be more modern with a smart TV that has apps so people can watch their shows that they’re used to on their apps. Having a TV that a guest can at least mirror their phone to can allow them to bring up their apps and watch them while in their hotel room. I love that they had bathrobes and slippers, but the slippers were a bit small.

we were traveling from Nanaimo by ferry with a rental car and a 6 am flight back to the east coast. I cannot imagine another way to do this other than staying at the airport hotel. I wish we had been there longer because the accommodations were so nice and we barely got to do anything but sleep!

You really pay a price (literally) for the convenience of staying at the airport, especially seeing as no one is there for their vacation. It is purely out of necessity so it really does feel as if the price is so high becuase you have no other choice!

Fairmont Vancouver Airport's location is excellent, for departing & arrival international flights. Our room view allowed to watch flights, very nice. Our room was very clean, except for the mention below of the bed. Staff were excellent for all services provided.

Our bed, was wet on one side, on the pillows & sheets. It was a very odd situation. We noticed when going to sleep. Room attendant efficiency changed all bedding. The disruption took about 1 hour. On checkout, we mentioned to the administrator, who curtly apologized but didn't want details. For such an odd occurrence, the short apology didn't support a Fairmont hotel stay & the price paid. Thought we would hear from the hotel afterwards, but we did not.

The beds were incredibly comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful even in the middle of the night. The offer of accommodation for a bed or pet dishes for our small dog was also a very nice touch. Travelling in the middle of the night is very challenging with children and a dog especially on a last minute family emergency, but Fairmont usually helps it be as seamless as possible!

We did not like the gaps in the bathroom entry doors that afforded no privacy in the bath/shower area. We also experienced a fire alarm in the middle of the night for approximately 10-20 minutes with sound blaring and lights flashing. We appreciated staff informing us on the loudspeaker that we could stay in our room, but were not offered an apology or even mention of the incident in the morning let alone a benefit of any kind for the major interruption to our already short 4 hours of sleep on our layover.
