Beautiful hotel, luxurious decor in public spaces, welcoming staff. Staff were all efficient, helpful and very professional. They realised that I was arriving on my birthday and gave me a wonderful welcome and, a complete surprise, Sachertorte for two was set up beautifully in our room. The bedroom was really well equipped with lots of storage space, plenty of towels and a very good fridge. The hotel is directly opposite the station and close to all amenities in the town- a perfect location. We have been coming here for years and love it. We will definitely return.

I think the policy of cleaning every 3 days is not entirely hygienic. I know it saves money but this comes at the cost of clean toilets and sinks. Tea and coffee facilities in the room surely wouldn’t break the bank!

Fabulous interior which has kept the traditional architecture but been modernised sympathetically. Staff were exceptionally helpful and cheery. Our room was much bigger than we expected and even had balconies! The €20 breakfast was amazing and worth every cent, photo of wonderful restaurant setting. There is a car park immediately to rear of hotel, you can park directly at rear to check in. Car park cost €24 for 24hours.

Although stated it had minibar- this was empty. For the price I would have hoped for kettle and coffee maker- this was not stated in room details though. Others had mentioned noise and disruption of repaving outside, this not hotel’s fault.

The hotel is in a great location for the train station and also the town centre for restaurants and shops etc. I haven't been able to visit the lake yet but it is located a stone's throw from the lake also. The staff at the hotel are super friendly and efficient and I particularly like their policy of paying when you check in which saves valuable time when departing.. also they offer a welcome drink which is a nice touch. The breakfast at the Halm is one of the best I have had and the Bircher Museli is the best ever! The restaurant in the evening is also worth a visit for some superb Morrocan food in a beautiful setting.

Historic hotel in a perfect location - opposite the train station, in the middle of the old town, next to the lake. The staff was very kind and polite. The hotel has a nice "old world" charm, but at the same time it is well kept and nice. We appreciated the luggage room and the beautiful terrace. We will return for sure when we visit Konstanz again.

Our room was quite small - but we expected it since we booked the cheapest option available. Although the marble bathroom looked nice, you could feel it is a little bit dated. And also it could be a little bit cleaner.

The hotel receptionist approached us shortly after check out time passed and asked us to leave because we “aren’t allowed to eat outside food in the hotel lobby.” There literally were no other guests in the entire lobby area nor any guests checking in. We were asked to leave despite clarifying fact that the hotel still had our luggage and we were leaving on a train across the street from the hotel within 20 minutes. It felt very ridiculous. This made for a weird ending to an otherwise perfect experience at this hotel.

The uninspiring outer facade hides a palatial, yet 'warm', welcoming and comfortable interior. The ambience of the dining room is matched by the quality and presentation of the meals offered. All staff, from waiters to reception and other service personnel, are very friendly, helpful, personable and efficient. The central location for transport, shopping, eating out and sight-seeing, is an added bonus. I could not imagine a better place to stay for a visit to Konstanz, whatever your plans are.

The reception staff and breakfast staff were very professional, friendly and helpful. Hotel lobby is beautiful and the breakfast room is elegant. My room was comfortable with plenty of bathroom amenities which included hand sanitiser. The drains in the sink and shower worked well (which is not true in many hotels). The variety and quality of the breakfast buffet was impressive. The COVID measures throughout the hotel were thorough .I liked that I got off the train and just walked across the street to the hotel. Everything was in easy walking distance, also. My experience here was wonderful and I would happily return to stay here again.

The room was large, comfortable and well-appointed. Insulation was excellent both of sound and cold weather. The hotel in December has a wonderfully cosy atmosphere, with small treats being provided to add to the mood. The staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful and polite. The buffet breakfast was magnificent. Though not in the most picturesque setting in this handsome city, the location offered good access to the city centre and, by public transport, beyond.

It is hard to think of anything. The restaurant offers a comparatively narrow range of signature dishes, which we chose not to take advantage of.

Ideal location just across the street from the train station and information center, and within one block from the boat dock. Close to lots of restaurants. The staff were incredible! So helpful and friendly. Wonderful experience here.

Single room was very small, which was fine and what I expected. The bathroom layout in my room was odd. It was really small and when I used the shower, the whole sink area also got wet. There was no separation between them.

Loved the historical ambience of this hotel and the special touches that you would expect from a hotel of this rating. Great customer service and complimentary welcome drink was appreciated. Room was large and comfortable with a view across Lake Constance. We selected the hotel as it is in very close proximity to the train station and the 'ship' (ferry) from Meersburg where we visited family. As we only stayed one night, we did not get the opportunity to explore their culinary expertise however the menu looked delightful. Staff were welcoming and attentive.
