La Perla is a beautiful hotel right in the heart of Leon. The staff were so warm and welcoming when we arrived. Special shout out to the lovely Isaac who was really attentive and kind during our stay. The hotel is in a perfect location to explore Leon. It's only minutes away from the heart of the town. When you return back to the hotel it feels like a little oasis of peace and calm. The pool is fabulous, if a tad chilly! But the hospitality of the staff was fantastic. We felt very well taken care of. Also a shout out to the lovely Jose who is one of the drivers the hotel uses should guests need someone to drive them either to/from the airport or beyond that. He was so kind and helpful during our stay and very happy to chat with us about local history along the way. He was completely fantastic!

The food was rather bland and sometimes slightly overcooked/burnt. This is really the only negative I would say about this hotel and it certainly shouldn't put anyone off staying. There are plenty of places to eat in Leon which are extremely reasonable. I just think the kitchen staff might need to get to grips a little more with breakfasts other than a traditional Nicaraguan one. There is a French and American breakfast on offer (for a small additional fee), which was OK but needed a little work.

The property is so beautiful and the room was very cute and comfortable, with everything we would need. The staff, especially Isaacs and Miguel were just wonderful, they made us feel so welcome and were helpful with us trying to practice our Spanish! The breakfast was great and served in a gorgeous courtyard. We enjoyed time playing pool in the bar and having a dip in the pool. The location was ideal we could walk everywhere in town easily and felt safe.

There was really nothing not to like, but I did think it would have been nice to get an information pack with a city map, food menu and times, local info etc. I know you can use Google, but I just would have found it useful.

The entire staff at Hotel La Perla was incredibly hospitable. Armando in particular, always greeted us and went above and beyond to make sure we had a drink and a positive experience, we also saw him make special centerpieces for a group celebrating at the restaurant. The breakfast was delicious, and both the servers and front desk team were incredibly attentive. The property is beautiful and perfectly located, within walking distance of everything.

Our room was comfortable, but it was lacking a window. It seemed to be the only room that didn't have a window so this may be unusual, but did surprise us.

My husband and I were impressed with this beautiful and very clean hotel. It has updated rooms and a beautiful courtyard. The pool was very nice. The room had a new and comfortable bed and a very nice bathroom. The air conditioner worked great and they had hot water. The staff were exceptional. They were ready to help or answer any questions we had. Elsie at the front desk, and Isaac and Miguelito were the staff we had the most contact with, and they made our stay memorable. The breakfast was delicious, served with french pressed coffee. I already miss sitting around the courtyard, enjoying their watermelon drink. When we return to Leon, we will definitely stay at La Perla again.

I liked everything

Lovely colonial hotel, the former US embassy I believe, right in the centre of Leon. We enjoyed breakfast in the delightful shady courtyard and the staff were great, really helpful. Our bedroom had French doors onto the gorgeous balcony which we very much enjoyed sitting out in every evening in the rocking chairs (be careful which room you book, not all have French doors or windows ). The bed was very comfy.

It’s almost perfect but we felt the whole place could use some investment. A fresh coat of paint, some water in the fountains and one other tip, the chairs at the front by the road were tipped up making it look like the hotel is closed, putting them the right way would make the property look far more inviting. The pool area was not that nice, we didn’t use it.

A beautiful properly in the heart of the city! The staff provided an amazing service, the best hosptial we’ve had in Central America! The rooms are slightly out dated but very clean and comfortable with very large beds. Fantastic hot water showers! Breakfast is lovely and the service for this is amazing

The breakfast is more than a normal person can eat , but we were going to climb a volcano so we ate everything.... traditional Nicaraguan breakfast....the staff is incredible and bilingual....they go above and beyond....pool is a nice soaker with excellent service if you want a beverage. Very nice private and secure parking area. From start to finish they will accommodate your every need

a truly wonderful property. all of the staff are exceptional. fantastic breakfast in the courtyard in the morning. great wifi, and shady areas around the hotel to work (all open air). rooms incredibly clean and updated, slept SO comfortably every night due to a great mattress, fluffy pillows and plush comforter. small, cool pool to cool off in after a day of exploring. location couldn’t be better - but it’s also very quiet for a good rest. we had 5 days here and while it was enough to see Leon, we didn’t want to leave this hotel. would highly recommend.

we loved everything!

Great location, right next to the center, bars, and restaurants. The staff was amazing and so helpful and kind. They had staff doing upgrades/repairs and had the pool area closed. However, they reopened the pool area and delayed the upgrades specifically for us. The staff followed up with us repeatedly to ensure we were comfortable. I would definitely stay there again and highly recommend.

Staff was great...location was amazing....property was beautiful and charmin! Would definitely recommend!!!

Our room didn't have a window in the main room, only a small window in the bathroom. We had a room with double beds and saw the other rooms with one bed and they had windows. Wasn't too bad but would have preferred window.
