Very nice place overall, it looks much more expensive than it is. Pool is cleaned daily. Easy place to relax but close access to the beach. Away from the noise of the backpacker hostels. The food is outstanding. I'd happily stay there again. The employees don't speak any English but are attentive and friendly.

The Italian family that owns and runs it is very nice but all 3 are chain smokers. The mom and dad basically sit in the open air restaurant and smoke all day which makes eating there less enjoyable. When none of their guests are smokers you'd think they would get a clue and change their habits.

This hotel is just lovely! We felt at home right from the beginning, the owners are such lovely and welcoming people who went out of their way to make our stay special. They were always available for questions, even helped me with a little birthday surprise for my boyfriend and prepared breakfast boxes on days where we left too early to eat proper breakfast. Which brings me to my next point- the food! It’s a wonderful breakfast with nice variations and it’s also one of the top places in las penitas for dinner. The rooms are a decent size and decorated really cute. They were cleaned once per day, the bathroom is nice and clean as well and so is the overall area of the hotel and the pool. We even tried extending our stay here, but they were already booked (rightfully so! 😊). It’s super close to the beach hostels , which are the main hang out spots in las penitas. Would recommend this for sure- great value for money!!

What a little gem!!!!! We had been travelling for 5 months so wanted to treat ourselves for Christmas - staying at Puesta del Sol was wonderful. The communal areas are beautifully decorated - the pool area was a slice of heaven - so relaxing and loved the decor. The pool itself was pristine! Our cabana was amazing - so comfortable, great design and loved how it was decorated. We were staying for 4 nights and didn’t really want to leave. Breakfast included was great - so tasty and a good variety of options. The staff & owners were brilliant, always on hand to help with anything. The cabanas are set back from the road behind an Italian restaurant, which is run by the same people - it was really delicious food and always busy. And having the restaurant there meant that you could enjoy a lovely chilled glass of wine whilst sitting by the pool in the sunshine!

It would have been good to have had some filtered water available, instead of having to buy bottles each time, but only a minor thing! Also, worth noting that the property is not on the beach front but set back on the other side of the road from the beach. It is a quick one minute walk to the beach so very close.

1. Beautiful cabañas - new, spotlessly clean, decorated to perfection, with attention to every detail. There was even a plant in the room :) air con and also a fan, safety deposit box, big mirror; patio to seat outside; 2. Great pool to chill; 3. Amazing restaurant (I had carbonara, as I craved for something that reminded me home) and it was great; 4. Lovely hosts and all staff - I woke up early and one of the staff saw me and brought me coffe to my cabaña 😍; If you go to Las Peñitas, don't think twice - and if rooms will be avaiable, book straight away, you will not find anything better in town.

Great spot right across the street from the beach. Clean rooms, nice pool, friendly staff. Working AC. Fast wifi. The restaurant was amazing, loved having amazing Italian dessert each night of my stay before nodding off in the hammock by the pool. They make fresh pasta and bread onsite, both of which are amazing and I drank lots of their fresh juice. The owners are wonderful. They made sure I had everything I needed during my stay, including rides to and from the airport, arranging tours, showing me how to get around, giving recommendations on what to do, etc. They really made my trip! Nicaragua is a wonderful country and Las Peñitas is a special little beach town. I’m so happy I stayed at Puesta del Sol! I’ll definitely be returning!

I loved everything about the property!

Breakfast delicious and beautiful beach just the other side of the street. The owners were lovely persons and nice staffs.

Nothing wrong with the hotel but there are a lot of poor stray and hungry dogs all around the village, it's very sad to see. There was one night where right next to our cabañas a little dog whined and cried for hours while I heard others fighting. One night, I found it unbearable to hear and we couldn't sleep my husband and I.

Everything. Could not fault one thing. The staff were helpful and attentive, the location is perfect, only three cabanas meant it felt very exclusive, often we had the pool all to ourselves, the food at breakfast and dinner was delicious and plentiful and good quality. Could have stayed here for way longer. The beds were super comfy, shower was great, the decor was lovely, rooms were spacious. Excellent price for what you get

Beautiful location, a lot of care in the aesthetics. The pool was so nice to chill inside and around. They even bring you drinks and food to the pool! AC in the room was amazing, good shower and comfy bed. The place is really peaceful and located right behind Playa Roca which is really good for surf! Owners were so sweet and the staff was very attentionate and professional. The included breakfasts were probably the most varied and high quality we had in Nicaragua. The food at the restaurant is done by an Italian chef and is just so good, all of it. You have to try the lemon ice cream! Could not recommend this place enough, would definitely come back!

These are really just small suggestions since there is very little that we didn't like: I think a little fridge in the room to keep the water bottles cold would be a nice upgrade. Music in the pool area could be a little lower to keep the peacefulness, but you can always ask and they will lower the volume if you want. The fan in the room is not very useful as it doesn't have much power, but this is really not a big deal since the AC is really strong and adjustable.

The owners were friendly and always available. Most of the delicious food, including the bread, pasta, and ice cream is made in house. The restaurant is fabulous, and located outdoors on a covered patio. The location is right across the street from beach. The pool area is lovely. Wifi is very good in rooms. All of the staff were super friendly, special thanks and shout out to Edgar and Carlos!

Sometimes difficult to get a warm shower. A/C sometimes took some time to completely cool off room.

Really lovely cabins with good quality furnishings, beautiful pool and chill out areas and amazing location right opposite the best stretch of beach and the bus stop. The breakfast and dinner was also delicious. Great place to chill out, I really wasn't well and came to recover and still managed to have a nice time. It takes 30 seconds to walk to the beach so I was still able to go and watch sunset.
