Fantastic staff, nice size room, perfect climate control in the room (warm and cozy now in the winter, cool and refreshing when we stayed in the summer two years ago). Indoor slippers and bathrobes were nice extras. Wonderful smelling soap and lotion. Two different kind of pillows in the bed: soft and hard. Plenty of food storage space in the kitchen area. Nice lighting. Modern design, nice big window, good ventilation, airy, fresh and clean smell everywhere.

Bed mattresses were hard. Comforters were thin for winter-time, and no extra blankets. Very small closet with only 5 hangars. Not enough space to hang clothes for two travelers. Also: no hooks by the door to hang your winter coats, no hooks in the bathroom to hang your bathrobe. No folding luggage rack to put your suitcase on, which meant you had to be on your knees on the floor getting your clothing out of your suitcase every day. Only one chair in the room, which meant we could not sit down together and eat whatever we cooked in the kitchenette.

breakfast was good, lots of choice and attentive staff, the lcoation was excellent so central but not bothered by grounds, the hotel has a number of food offerings we used the bakery, bar and Atelier resturant and they were all good.

the only thing we felt could be improved was maybe some coat hooks in the rooms! the wardrobe is small so in the winter with heavy coats it started to get congested and we had to use chairs as wardrobes!

- Fantastic location, in a central yet quiet and green part of Basel’s old town. Lots of restaurants around and very walkable. The 3 tram stops right outside the property. - Building recently renovated, with simple and tasteful design details - The unit I stayed in overlooked the green back yard and the nearby music school. It had all amenities, including a kitchenette. It was very well designed, which I appreciated as an architect myself, and had plenty of natural light. - I particularly appreciated that some of the sockets next to the bed were of the round European kind in addition to the more narrow Swiss ones. Very thoughtful, considering that most people these days use such sockets to charge their devices, especially smart phones, which might not always have chargers compatible with the Swiss socket - Various small things, from an amenity kit and slippers/bathrobe set to an architecture guide to Basel and a pocket book gift from the art house publisher Reclam, added to a pleasant stay. It is nice to feel appreciated and taken care of as a guest with nice little gestures like this, which make the hotel live up to its name as an art guest house

Really lovely clean apartment with everything you could need. The washing machine/dryer combo was a wonderful surprise which allowed us to get some of our holiday washing done. Everything you could need (providing you didn’t wish to do too much cooking). Great space with the ability to make two separate rooms with a sliding partition. Excellent black out blinds meaning our son slept great. Amazing location just a simple walk down the hill right into the centre of town. Breakfast also really lovely with a great spread. Beautiful bathroom and great shower. Really pleased with the Basal Card allowing us to travel for free. Oh and the tram stop is right outside the door! 5 stars from us (two adults and one 4 year old).

Great location right beside most museums. Hotel rooms are great, very big, and spacious. It also has a fridge to store food and tap for water. The hotel has an option to take electric bikes and also an electric car you must book in advance. We took.the bikes and cycled to france and germany, which was only about 15 minutes away but a great extra.. Also you get a free basel card when you arrive which includes the bus back to the airport. Also, a handy tip if you're flying, don't pay for the bus into basel your hotel booking reference for any hotel counts as your bus ticket.

Breakfast was outstanding. Fresh fruit, cold cuts, cheeses, croissants-both plain and chocolate, yogurt, juices, and coffee drinks and eggs per order. It does not get much better than this. Service was excellent as was the food.

The hotel has in room controlled heating and air conditioning. It would have been nice if instructions on how to operate the controls were provided. It would have been very helpful.

Staff was outstanding. So nice. The rooms are very spacious, clean and I like the separate toilet from shower room. Amenities and min-bare were good. Bed was very relaxing. Large windows let in so much beautiful sunlight. The coffee and snack bar in the lobby were great and convenient. Overall, just wonderful.

It would have been nice to have a water kettle in the room for tea. Breakfast was fine, but a bit expensive for what it was. Hotel Krafft does a slightly nicer breakfast (i.e. more variety / choice) for only 20CHF.

The location is unbeatable, as the Hotel is right in the center, with very fast and easy communication with the tram and bus network that are free for the customer, since the Hotel, like almost all of Basel, offers the client the Basel Card, with which all transport in the city is free and museum tickets have a 50% discount. In little more than a minute on foot you will reach Barfüsselplatzt, where you will find one of the nerve centers of the city's tram network. As for cleaning, there is nothing to object to, as the service is correct and the supplies are replenished daily without problem. The rooms are spacious and contain everything you need, and more than is usual in hotels. For example, in addition to a coffee maker, cups for coffee and infusions, with metal spoons, and supplies to drink something in the room, in addition to the fridge, spacious cabinets to store whatever you want, the Hotel provides slippers and bathrobes. The bathroom is divided, so that two people can use the toilet and sink at the same time without problem while the other can use the shower, which is magnificent, spacious and with high-quality gel and shampoo. In addition, next to the shower there is a second sink with a mirror. In our opinion at least, that was an ingenious distribution. As regards the double bed, it is spacious and the quality of the mattress and pillows are exceptional. There are two pillows for each person, one normal soft and another with two different hardnesses, soft on one side and firm on the other. We slept very well, both because of the wonderful bed and the silence provided both by the quiet environment and by the acoustic and light insulation, since the room has two electric shutters of different thickness. In short, a great stay in a Hotel that also offers wonderful independence, since the reception and restaurant are located in the building opposite, the old Teufelhof. We will return. of course.

Everything ok.

Everything! Modern design of room and how spacious it was. The hotel is fairly new so the room was clean and felt homely. There’s a small kitchen area with a fridge that actually cools and a Nespresso coffee machine if you need a caffeine fix. The toilet is separate from the bathroom which is neat. Location was walking distance to all the main tourist attractions with lots of restaurants and cafes around the area. It’s a bit further away from the main train station but the tram stop that takes you there is a 3 minutes walk from the hotel.

Minor point - the reception isn’t manned 24/7 (especially on Sundays) so if you need assistance outside their business hours, you’ll need to cross the road to their sister hotel.

The room was clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable which was appreciated after a long flight from the United States. The shower was also amazing. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The location is outstanding, walking distance to the city center. We went to visit the Christmas Markets which were easy to access from the hotel. Excellent value for the price. Highly recommend.
