We, (family of 4, 2 teens) booked for an overnight stay on our way from Cornwall to near London. The room was very spacious and the beds very comfortable. We all had a good nights sleep. TV, WIFI all worked great, tea and coffee supplied in the room. Room and pub were spotlessly clean including toilets which is good news for me as then I know the kitchen will also be clean !! Food was nice, regular pub grub and well priced. Staff were AMAZING and very genuine, could tell it was a family run business. Wish we could have stayed longer and explored the area.

Only suggestion I could make is to provide a usb plug next to the bed instead of just a regular plug option.

The room was comfortable, clean with a good shower but dated. Had a delicious evening meal of vegetable fajitas and salad and the breakfast was generous with a choice of continental and full English. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. It was fine for a convenient stopover close to the M5.

The decor is very dated and the carpet was old so looked grubby though rest of room was well cleaned.

The breakfast was cooked how we liked they change things without any hesitation in the best poached eggs I’ve had for many years The Location was very good just off the motorway junctions and within easy reach of destinations that we planned to go to

There was nothing to dislike all of the facilities were very good including the staff and the owners were exceptional

The staff were particularly friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast (included in the price). Would definitely rebook there if in the area again.

Room overlooked main road, which for some reason trucks were going back and forth along all night. Next time I will request a room that faces away from the road.

The staff at this pub are just superb. They couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly.

Our room needs updating, but equally the bed was comfortable and it was very quiet, even though we were in a pub! The food is normal ‘pub grub’ and would benefit from less chips and more vegetables/salad, and perhaps a little more up-to-date menu, offering a wider selection of food?

Lovely location for an overnight stop whilst travelling, not too far from the motorway and 200 times better than a Day's Inn by the side of the motorway! Happy to accommodate us for a meal and they catered for gluten free with no trouble at all. There is a lovely canal area to take a stroll after your meal behind the pub Breakfast was good and included in the price, great stay overall.

The whole place was warm and welcoming; the room was very clean, well appointed and functional, as was the bathroom. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Meals were well prepared and cooked, served with a smile, and adequate size portions. The full English breakfast, however, was off the scale ! ! For those up for a challenge ! !

A couple of times it was difficult to catch a waitress's eye for service – and they weren't always busy. This is a fine village pub with accommodation, so go with realistic expectations and you'll be more than satisfied. The only thing I would have liked different was a lift instead of the quite steep stairs to the bedrooms (my wife's mobility leaves a fair bit to be desired).

Nice family-run place, with good food and excellent beer (Sharpe's Sea Fury) and some very good staff. Slight shame that the atmosphere of the restaurant was undermined by audible TV football from the bar, but I think it's hard to balance the demands of locals and guests. I appreciate they are trying.

Very friendly and helpful staff, large car park, good breakfast, large room with plenty of storage for clothes. The bathroom, like the bedroom was clean and had ample space.

Unfortunately we chose the time of the year which coincided with the maize harvest and the noise from the huge farm machinery transporting it to the digester facility was very intrusive. We were moved to a room at the back of the hotel for the second night, which was blissfully quiet.

Friendliness of bar staff and choice of breakfast....the family running the B&B bent over backwards to accommodate our needs, as a couple of us had some dietary needs! Bed & pillows very comfortable, temperature in the room was good and there was even a sofa in my room. Shower was great. The B&B was really quiet & peaceful at night - even though it was a BH weekend!
