This was one of our favourite places to stay during our trip. The chilling area on the first floor is so nice! It has a real cozy atmosphere. The double rooms are wonderful, it feels like glamping. We had to fight for the upper room going up with the ladder ;-) There are two bathrooms, this is enough for the number of rooms. They were clean and the view is great when you are taking your ‘outside’ shower! The owner is vey friendly and organised our trip for mount Ijen and the transfer to the harbour. No hassle… Breakfast was simple but good quality. Staying in a real bamboo house was very special to us. We would definitely have loved to stay more nights if it would have been available!

Our stay at Bamboo & B was truly extraordinary. This hotel makes childhood dreams of staying in a treehouse come true, offering an amazing connection to nature. The rooms don’t have traditional windows—walls are open with curtains instead. At night, you fall asleep to the sounds of nature, and in the morning, you wake up to stunning views of rice fields. The breakfasts are delicious and very filling—we fell in love with the pancakes. The hotel staff is friendly and incredibly helpful. They gave us plenty of tips for planning our trip to Ijen, helped us rent a scooter, and provided gas masks. A charming bonus is the hotel’s fluffy residents—the cats. There are plenty of them, all well-cared for and super friendly. If you’re lucky, one of these adorable felines might even visit you in your room.

There’s no other place quite like this: sleeping in a bamboo-house of that size is like getting back to being a kid in a treehouse. It also doesn’t hurt that the food is deliciously cooked and the people running the place are very kind. If you are like me and have a bit on insectophobia do not worry: there’s nothing to be scared of ;)

We would have appreciated better organization in terms of touring the area. We know that the main thing is hiking Ijen but it would be nice to be able to see the area (rubber filed, coffee farm, waterfalls) accompanied by someone local.

The rooms are just so lovely and beautiful. And it was still cool without an AC. The owner helped us a lot whenever we had a question whether on how and when to get to Ijen with the Scooter or on laundry or on how to use the train in java. We did not had breakfast included in our booking but they were so nice still offering breakfast to us. On the last day we had to leave at 5 am so they packed us a delicious breakfast to go. We had a great stay thanks to bamboo & b. We wanted to stay longer but happily (unfortunately for us) it was all booked. We will definitely come back to bamboo & b when coming back to java

The location had good proximity to Ijen Volcano (which is why we picked it). We arrived very late due to traffic problems, and the owner was very kind in waking up and giving us access to our room. The room was clean and somewhat charming (in its own way). The (private) bathroom, despite being rather rustic and outdoors, surprisingly had hot water. The grounds were green and full of flowers.

The bathroom was pretty basic, and involved going outside on a rather rickety staircase and uneven trail. (Bring flip flops.)

Lovely people doing all the best to feel you at home, they cooked amazing meals, nice big breakfast before Ijen hike. In middle of nature, with rice field all around, sleeping in open area on the nature. Good place to relax and disconnect a bit

Location in the middle off fields and trees and by the river. Very quiet comfortable for a few nights beds really comfy. Hot shower. Really nice breakfast after coming down from ijen. They organised our ijen trip as well and picked us up from the ferry port so can’t fault them. Person who runs it spoke very good English and that helped.

Nothing really was what expected.

Firstly welcoming staff and glad that they speak English well, we came here to go the Mount Ijen after doing Bromo. Sadly the night before we were too late to check in and could not wake up at 12am, luckily we were planned to stay at Ijen for 2 nights, so the next morning we just return the gas mask (you can rent it here for 15k rupiah which is cheaper than elsewhere.) We booked a room with shared bathroom but the girl offered us a stand-alone chalet with private bathroom. Love the room design, bathroom gave us another level of experience, decent breakfast, good location. Overall an interesting place to stay. Thanks owner for the passion fruit!

Mind the insects/bugs they are almost everywhere. But I guess nature lovers can bear with it. Maybe the parking area can be improved to have more rock pavement so when raining season it won't get so muddy.

Everything. We came here to go the mount Ijen after doing Bromo. The hotel arranged a driver for us to go there at a reasonable price and rented us the gas masks. Very convenient. They also prepared us breakfast, lunch and diner on demand and were very flexible. The food is delicious. After Ijen, we were very tired and enjoyed a comfortable bed in our bamboo cocoon 😊 the room is very cosy and the view on trees and nature was perfect to relax. Everything is made out of bamboo which is amazing. The bathrooms are shared but very clean and the hot shower is amazing, the bathrooms are half open on nature which makes the experience even better. We would definitely recommend staying here.

A beautiful bamboe structure makes that you feel like you sleep outside. Extremely friendly staff made our dinner on request and it was excellent (try the chicken teriyaki 😀) It has a shared bath room and it is not the most luxerious but it is a great experience
