As the saying goes you get what you pay for, and if I wanted 5 star accommodation then I would be expected to pay for it. The room was very comfortable and fairly quiet considering that the property is on a fairly busy road, however, the creaking floors were a bit of a problem for me, being a very light sleeper. The shower/toilet was excellent. The only problem was that the expected hair drier didn't appear.

Very important for a visitor arriving in an unknown town after dark is for the property to have very clear signage, and Cathleen House signage and road number is very small when trying to see it from the road, especially with other motorists getting impatient behind you. Just a large number 85 right on the road would suffice. Other than that we had no problems whatever.

Kathleen house Is exactly what It claims to be: a bedroom in a large house, with lockable doors. It's like a home from home! Very comfortable, warm and exceptionally clean. I stayed 2 nights and both mornings there was a cleaner working on the communal areas of the property (they were also very friendly). The bathroom is shared but again is VERY clean and it was always free while I was there.

The property was clean and the facilities comfortable.

The shared facilities were good but even when nobody else was staying there we were not too happy sharing. It was in the description so not a surprise. We would have liked some biscuits in the room. Breakfast was included but very basic. Not sure they could have done more given no staff were on site. My wife did not like the air fresheners.

When I booked the currency was in Euros , by confirming ,the price changed to Pound sterling and I got no choice to confirm my booking only by using Paypal .As a result I lost 30€ !!.I lost my time by making complains, by sending copies of the screen ,bank proof etc etc at the end i lost my time for nothing

I stay here quite regularly and it’s always great, nice and clean, hassle free and a breakfast ready to go each morning. Great room service, lovely clean bathrooms, I highly recommend this place for a stay in London. Also very close to the train station and on a main bus route. Thanks guys and see you again next year.

The bed was comfortable. Everything about my stay was just OK.

Booking.com gave me the option pay now or pay at property. After reading T&C's it became apparent that payment was needed prior to arrival or no key code access granted. Emailed proprietor to sort but no response. After several emails/txts allowed me to pay online. He did apologise later. No en suite rooms. Limited parking.

The bedroom was a good size and the bed had such a comfortable mattress and pillows. The sheets and towels were clean and felt fresh and there were also comfortable chairs to sit on. The entrance to the guest house was clean and welcoming and the stairs weren't steep. There are two bathrooms which are cleaned well daily and there's a bath and two showers. Even though they were shared between the residents I felt very comfortable using them as they were sanitary and welcoming. There's a shop across the road for groceries and the town centre is about a 15 minute walk (or there's a bus stop right outside the guest house). There's loads of food options in the town centre and a variety of places to go and have a drink. Whilst we didn't socialise in that area we did get food from there to eat in the room and I was happy with the choice available as a vegan. The tube station was a bit of a way from the house but there are busses if needed. We came in to London via Euston station and it was a bit of a trek to take public transport so I'd probably drive to the house next time as there's some parking available or more on a side street without permits required. I'd definitely stay there again!

Very few things. The only things I think could be improved on woukd be to have a bath mat on the floor in front of the showers in the bathrooms and the top floor shower was more enjoyable to use than the middle floor one due to it being tap fed rather than electric. Small details though and for the price I paid I'm really happy with the overall quality.

Enjoyed our stay and was a reasonable priced room, within a short distance to commuting to Central London. Very speedy check-in with a message received with instructions (key fobs on wall) to enter the property. Bed was comfortable and a spacious room. Will definitely look at returning as familiar with the town and local area.

The only issue we had was the other guests who seemed to slam the doors shut! Maybe having a door on a soft close spring maybe as it was late at night/early in morning. Also, having an occupied sign on the bathroom as you don't know if someone is inside.

Breakfast perfect for us. Don't recall giving a preference of having a quiet room so can't complain about being at the front of the house by the main road - have forgotten how busy the roads are 24/7 ! Thank you guys - so glad I found Kathleen House!

Only thing to mention is that the keyring for the front door key needs replacing - but this is not a complaint or a moan 🙂

I left too early to have breakfast. Location was 20 minutes cycle from where I was working.

The shower was a bit hit and miss. Several times, it showed the LP low pressure warning on the display. Sometimes the pressure returned of its own accord. Sometimes, I had to turn it on and off until the LP warning disappeared and the flow was restored.
