Rooms a bit small if staying a few nights Air con in our room was sub standard Our receptionist upon arrival was not very helpful, parking map was useless really as too small (other receptionist was ok) Parking garage at sister hotel is not nearby so a bit inconvenient Soundproofing was poor in room , could hear people in other rooms clearly

There is no better hotel location in all of Nazare, this is the BEST. It’s on the beach, it’s close to the tram to the top of the cliff, there’s plenty of restaurants in short walking distance, it just doesn’t better. The room… average at best. It’s a beach hotel that feels like a 3-star in the facility, and there’s nothing horribly wrong with the rooms, it’s just the little things. The bed is NOT comfortable, but most hotel beds in Portugal are not. The bathroom was needing some light maintenance, for instance, the toilet seat was broken and the soap dispenser in the shower had clearly been broken for some time with no one paying enough attention to replace it. These are the things that weren’t worth our time to worry about but certainly an annoyance room-wise. The Wi-Fi was great however! Plus, and this is the most important part for us, the staff are WONDERFUL! The hotel staff, the restaurant staff, everyone is warm and friendly and such a giant part of making Hotel Mar Bravo worth the stay. We’d stay there again just for the warmth and sincerity of the wonderful staff members.

Like I said, the rooms are just average and at least ours was in need of some light maintenance. The front entryway also looks like a storage area and at least half the time had beach chairs stacked up between the entryway and the elevators. Not horrible, just… really?

We had a wonderful stay, largely due to the incredible ocean view from our room. Although our room was described as a side view, the sight of the ocean was still beautiful. The room itself was on the smaller side, but it was very cozy and very clean, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was especially large and comfortable. Breakfast was delightful, with a nice variety. Most of the staff were friendly and accommodating, although we did have one less-than-stellar interaction with one staff member. Parking was easy, though it was located at a nearby hotel rather than on-site. The dinner at the restaurant was a bit of a letdown; the food was quite expensive, and it didn’t quite meet our expectations in terms of taste and quality. Overall, though, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it for the views, comfort, location and lovely breakfast experience!

Not a very nice welcome. If you are sick or unwell that day, please don’t work at the reception.

We stayed in Mar Bravo for a couple of nights early December and I must say, what a great experience it was. The room had a sea view and was big enough for the two of us with all conveniences including a safe, heating and AC with a plentiful supply of tea or coffee complementary from reception along with cakes and other edible goodies. The staff were fabulous and exeptionally helpful and could not do enough for you. The restarant attached to the Hotel was probably one of the best in Nazare, the selection of fresh seafood and local dishes was to die for and was reasonably priced. All in all, I would highly recommend the Hotel if you are staying in Nazare, the location, the staff and the restaurant made for an exceptionally enjoyable stay, thank you to all at Mar Bravo.

Nothing at all

Perfect location, comfy bed and amazing shower. Our room had a sea view with two balconies. Liliana, the desk clerk, was so pleasant and helpful. Nice breakfast buffet too. We ate at the hotel for dinner as well. Great meal but a bit loud and crowded. Dining staff may have been overwhelmed with the crowd. We reserved a window table but they didn't honor it. Sat in the middle of a busy room. Overall, despite a fair dinner experience, we would highly recommend!

Dinner was loud and crowded. Windows were closed due to rain--maybe it is better when weather is good and windows are open!

The hotel is in a perfect location across the street from the beach on a promenade. The room was large enough but the bathroom had minimal counter space like most hotels in Europe.. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Parking was a bit of a pain since you had to park at another hotel underground garage about a 10 minute walk away but to have any parking in Nazare is a luxury since it is almost non-existent. Breakfast was good and offered a decent amount of options. We also had a dinner at the hotel restaurant one night and it was very good.. Good location to wake the waterfront to many restaurants. This is the place to stay in Nazare.

Nothing really to complain about since you could look off your balcony and see a beautiful view.

Stayed 2 nights between Lisbon and Porto. Such a nice town still feels authentic. Hôtel is an amazing location right on the beach and close to the main square with lots of good restaurants and cafes. Super clean hotel and delicious seafood restaurant on ground floor - the shrimp risotto was outstanding. Parking building 5 mins walk down the road worked out well - we just left the car there the whole time and enjoyed the relaxed pace of Nazare. The Nazare Fort (go up to Sitio and walk along the cliff top to the end) is the viewpoint for watching the tallest waves in the world - is so interesting and well worth a visit even if the waves are small and you don’t know much about surfing. Great exhibits €2 entry.

We loved this accommodation! It’s right across from the beach and looks onto the main square. The room is bright and airy and comfortable. Everything looks clean and fresh. It was easy to park in the Mar Bravo loading zone and then take the car to a parkade a few blocks away. Great breakfast in the hotel’s restaurant gives a good start to your day! Our room was on the side of the hotel, not facing the beach, but we could easily see the beach and waves and the hillside up to Sitio. Unless you’re driving out of town there’s no need for a car during your stay. The beach and promenade are definitely in resort category very walkable. Lots of restaurants and bars and shops along the front street. Easy access to the neighboring town of Sitio , either by hiking the trail or taking the funicular, to see the largest surfing waves in the world! This is a resort town so look elsewhere for cathedrals and ruins, but definitely come here for R&R and beach time. Mar Bravo is the perfect base for a stay!

The view from this hotel is spectacular!!! We also got to watch Carnaval from our balcony! What a treat!! This place is very walkable to the many restaurants around and if you are looking to visit the lighthouse and the site of The 100 Foot Wave documentary you can walk about 30mins up a steep hill with breathtaking views and neat spots to stop at like a swing and a cat sanctuary. We didn’t do this as we had a car and Nazaré is very drive-able if you are comfortable navigating narrow streets. You can easily get to the lighthouse within a 15min drive. The lighthouse opens at 10am and you will need to walk downhill approx 500m. The cost is $2, but not necessary. If you want to understand the big waves and the history of surfing it is nice. When it is open there is a tuk tuk shuttle to take you up hill, but only during opening hours. There is also a washroom $0.50 at the top of the parking lot with shops and food. There is also another spot called Faral da Nazare which is also a nice place to view the waves and surfers and can be a more tranquil place to stop.

Nothing, but maybe harder to find gluten free options. Parking is a challenge as you have to drop off bags and then drive to underground parking and walk back. Look for Mar Bravo sign to park for dropping off bags.
