Ideal location, comfortable, large room, decent bathroom, extra pillows 👍🏻, pub next door in perfect location, lovely park full of squirrels and birds just around the corner which is great for a morning walk. Added bonus was the hotel kitty which was very friendly and possibly one of the most beautiful cats I've ever seen.

The remote control in the room was absolutely disgustingly filthy. It had months of build up on it, of who knows what. Other people's food, fluids, greasy skin cells. I didn't want to touch it, it was so vile.

They don't do breakfast, but the pub which is attached to the hotel did an excellent cheap meal. The location is in the middle of Shirley, yet the room was quiet. The staff were very friendly and helpful and made you feel important. I had a problem with the remote control, and when I mentioned it to the maintenance man he solved it almost straight away. I can't fault the hotel for such a reasonable price, and would recommend it without hesitation.

There was no lift, but the receptionists offered to move us to a lower room when we booked in. The room was basic, and not suitable for a long stay, due to lack of draw and hanging space, but saying that, at the price we paid, it was not a problem.

Central location with free parking included albeit likely reflected in slightly higher rate of overnight stay. Walking distance from many restaurants pubs take aways. Quiet location however because not immediately on the road. Very clean with rooms premier inn style. Only downside most rooms don’t have a bath if you want one try and request but the showers are very powerful and great that is what matters to me. I ve stayed here for work nearly once a week for the past six months and over and the service is consistent as well as the price. I would def recommend.

Remember to put your car reg in the screen or you’ll get fined! Ask for a room with a bath if you fancy one but the showers are very powerful and hot in every room I tried so never felt I missed a bath!

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel The lady at the reception was very nice and helful. She even gave us a travel adaptor to charge our phones. She was always smiling and ready to help. The rooms were not very big, but clean and confortable. The bed and pillows were very good. Also they had black out curtains, which for me were important. The location is a bit far from the centre, but easily accessibile by bus in 20 min. Within 1-2 min from the hotel you have 2 big supermarkets and also the bus station. For the price paid we were happy. It is not a luxury hotel/room but clean and nice.

The sound proof is not very good but this is an issue in most hotels were you can hear the doors from other rooms. But it is not a big hotel and there was not a lot of disturbance.

I have stayed in many different accommodations with different ratings not all are what they say even though they charge a shameful price. However here I received a warm professional welcome from all staff. My accommodation was clean, quite, comfortable & cosy. Housekeeping staff very approachable & helpful. Excellent location, vibrant, restaurants, street foods, shops, parks morning walk, coffee shops, delicatessen. Every taste bud covered. I had 3 great days & booked for my return & will continue to do so. Will I stay at the most expensive hotel up the road ,,, definitely not. This did exactly what it says without being charged a fortune or feeling like a number I was a welcome guest. Thank you to all staff. S & little B

It was an attic room with a velux window, it was quite bright but also quite hot despite the window being open before our arrival. There was a fan in the room which did help. The en-suite was good and they provides liquid soap and shower gel. The Hotel is right on the high street and attached to a pub. There was a bit of street noise but nothing too bad. There is a car park shared between the pub and the Hotel which is free and you just need to enter your registration. There are numerous shops and bars in the immediate vicinity of the Hotel. Staff were really helpful

There was no lift which wasn't great for my 85year old Mother in Law who struggled with the stairs

Everything is very basic, as you'd expect from the price, but there are no problems. The bed was comfortable, parking was easy, everything worked. My favourite part, however, was the staff. They are EXCEPTIONALLY friendly, kind and welcoming. I've stayed at Redwings a few times now and always thought this. They're a genuinely lovely team.

The decor is a little tired and it's a shame there isn't an in-house breakfast available (although there is a Costa less than a minute's walk away that does decent breakfast sandwiches). But for the price, I really really can't complain. This is probably one of the best budget hotels you'll find in the UK.

Easy to locate, free parking, lady on reception was lovely, our room wasn't ready but she sorted it out and gave us another one. Room was very tidy and cosy. Very good value for money. If we ever come back go Solihull we definitely come back here. Went to hotel's bar for breakfast, big portions and nice food.

The only minus of this stay was the sound of people slamming corridor doors. It's normal to hear people walking in the hall but what got to us the most every single time someone comes or goes and opens corridor doors it just slamms and it's very loud, especially when our room was the first one as soon as you come in. So every time we were almost asleep we just kept waking up from the noise.

The staff were excellent - friendly, helpful and considerate. I had asked for a room with as little walking and stair climbing as possible, as I find both difficult these days. They gave me the room closest to reception - perfect! They also advised me on local places to eat when I asked. There were lots of options, as the hotel is in the middle of the shopping area, so even I could walk to several places. The room was quite big, with two chairs and a desk as well as the usual fittings (including a plug by the bed, though that was a little hidden). Bonus with the temperatures that week, there was a fan. The bed was big and comfortable, and there was no noise overnight, despite the location. I slept really well. I read the signs wrong when I arrived, so had a little trouble finding the parking place, but that's on me. Note - there are two entrances, one on either side of the building, with reception in the middle. One is in the car park, which is free to guests. And remains free for most of the checkout day, so there are no worries about some shopping and a leisurely lunch. Definitely on my return list.

Nothing really. The decor is very generic, which I know some people don't like, but I find it relaxing.
