Check in was easy and plenty of parking available. There was some renovations happening but they were confined and of no nuisance. Everything was as expected for a chain hotel such as this Copthorne. Location is a couple of hundred meters from the town square which made it easy to walk to.

The rooms are a little tired so hopefully the renovations will ensure the Copthorne is refreshed. While the windows are large and provide a good view, they are single glazed and aluminum framed, so you hear anything happening outside. The main road is offset so the noise is not a major concern.

I have read some of the other reviews, they are from people being quite precious about things. Like no treadmill for example, the expectation that this should be in a hotel gym, is very specific, and is definitely a recommendation, but not a complaint. It is a really good hotel for the price, and I have stayed in many over the years, it is better than its overall rating, and you will enjoy it, unless you have very unrealistic expectations.

Found the beds extremely comfortable and warm. All staff were friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the breakfast very much. It was very convenient to walk to the shops and leave the car safely in your carpark.

The only thing that was hard for me with a back that doesn't bend well, was trying to climb over the bath to use the shower, there were no handrails to assist me. First shower i found hard to get out it was high up, and when i went to get out the bath mat slipped on the beautiful shiny tiles, learnt very quickly i had to bend down and hold on to side off bath to get out.

First Impression.. Central to CBD, literally a 2min walk to PaknSave, Burger King and the Plaza. Reception area clean and tidy and warm. Our room felt homely, spa bath was a bonus. Breakfast was very yummy!!

ALL staff need to brush up on their customer service skills. Lack of customer care, service and appearance. Disinterested in being the face of The Copthorne. Dinning room and bar area was not inviting. We found previous guests personal belongings in our room and when we handed them back to reception, the young girl just shrugged it off, very unprofessional.

The room was actually fantastic, bed very comfy, shower great. Very nice for a couple of nights stay, thank you. Staff are amazing kind and positive, nothing a problem. Breakfast great. Hotel is working to improve internal area, maybe this is a start of updating hotel.

slight improvement would be to have a shower rail instead of fixed head and glass shelf instead of metal shelf for soaps, shampoos etc. Air conditioning would be fantastic in rooms especially in summer I would imagine, might be incredibly hard to install through with existing building. Reception chairs and furniture looking tardy. Restaurant area inside looking quite dated in some areas.

The Copthorne is in a very convenient location with nice surroundings and comfortable rooms.

The maitr d could have made us aware that we could order extra items for breakfast. I am vegan and the only items I could eat were the baked beans & hash nuggets (not 100% sure they were vegan friendly). I didn't know we could order mushrooms & tomatoes until after we'd finished. The step up into the shower could be dangerous for elderly clients.

Hotel staff are really nice, restaurant to very good, hotel room clean and spacious. Its undergoing renovation which is good as it has huge potentional. I think the lobby and bar area would be cool in an industrial type decor.

Needs more customers

The property was in a great location close to town, was gated which was awesome so we knew our truck was secure for the night. The 24hour reception was great as we didn’t arrive until after 10.30pm. The rooms were spotless, very comfy bed, quiet room, loved the Dyson fan! My fav hot chocolate sachets were on offer, the shower was AMAZING!! Staff were friendly & helpful.

Copthorne Hotel Palmerston North communicated clearly and also importantly very quickly before my arrival to address my questions. The staff are super friendly and extremely helpful. The room was extremely clean and comfortable.

The breakfast was a but underwelming. I would have preferred more and hotter food options. The hashbrowns were already cold and the egg was meh.

There were some renovation taking place, however, it was actually impacting me as I was out during that time. On the first day, the breakfast was so limited, and I have to get some eggs made special for me.
