This B&B, although a bit distant to the train station Saint-Jean, is conveniently located at the city center on the quiet side street of Rue Boulan and very close to the large supermarket at Meriadeck from/to where one can take the tram on line A to/from the airport. We walked everywhere in Bordeaux except when we visited Cite du Vin, Halles de Bacalan, and Bassins des Lumieres with tram line B. One other nice thing about its location is that it is very close to the Musee des Beaux-Arts. The building and the room had lots of character and the breakfast, which was customized according to the preferences of the guests, was held at the ground floor and was very good in terms of French standards; we always left full. There are also complimentary tea and coffee with the suitable machines in the room. Most importantly, our hostess Laetitia was very helpful and provided lots of information on places to visit and eat. On our final day, we were also able to leave our luggage after check-out and return later to pick them up. We highly recommend this place to those who would like to stay at the city center yet reach the airport with the tram.

The breakfast was good.

There were no toiletries in the bathroom- no shampoo, no conditioner and no face soap. The shower stall had something in a dispenser but after 3 squirts it was empty and not refilled and we were there 3 nights.

I cannot say enough about Au Coeur de Bordeaux B&B. The room's antique furnishings made us feel like we were really in an old mansion which has lots of charm. The hostess (manager) Letitia was super wonderful and accomodating to all our needs. We picked this place since it was within a 3 minute walk of the Musée des Beaux Arts and as well as the parking and a great restaurant. One couldn't choose a better hotel right in the middle of the old town of Bordeaux. The breakfast was equally perfect.

There's not one thing we didn't like. We will definitely go back when we're in the area.

Location is Superb,within a five minute walk to the city centre and ten seconds to an Irish bistro pub. Breakfast is fabulous especially the homemade yoghurt. Room is beautiful and comfortable. All facilities included ,coffee,wine,fridge,beer,water,TV and Safe. But above all the STAFF make this hotel utterly irresistable. Will i be back to Au Coeur ?......without a doubt.

Breakfast was very poor even by French standards

Staff was wonderful and so accommodating. Laetitia not only waited for us to arrive as we got in late our first day, she also packed a wonderful "to go" breakfast for us on the day of our departure since we were leaving early. During our stay the breakfast staff was so helpful and friendly. The building itself was beautiful and felt like a true French hotel. Easy to walk to all of the beautiful places in Bordeaux, great food steps away, close to the tram, and everything one could hope for! We hope to return someday!

That we had to leave.

Location was perfect, close to tram and bus routes. Owner and other staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable and clean. My room was stuffy and windows opened, but as it was on street level I wouldn't be able to leave it open during the night. It was March, so it was OK. I'm not sure it would be bearable in the summer as the aircon does not work.

My room was downstairs by the front door and opened onto the reception and breakfast area. It was noisy around breakfast time and with people coming and going. I was only there for 2 nights, so it was manageable. Breakfast was OK, if you are expecting a large hotel buffet style with multiple choices, then this hotel is not for you.

Location was perfect..close to alot of attractions...Tramline extremely closeby..Host allowed us leave our luggage at the premises as we arrived before check in time..She was very friendly, and very informative regarding places to visit in Bordeaux. Our room was beautiful,spotless and nicely decorated. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was perfect for what we needed.I would have no bother in recommending Au Coeur de Bordeaux to my friends..Beautiful city also.

Nothing to complain about!

In central position and ideal for walking around Bordeaux

The room was extremely comfortable, clean, and nicely furnished. Breakfasts were delicious (including homemade yogurt!), and the staff was friendly and helpful. The location was excellent, too -- on a relatively quiet block near the cathedral and within walking distance (or an easy tram ride) of most sights in Bordeaux. Parking availability (which is available on first come-first served basis, so we got lucky) is extremely helpful for those who are stopping on a road trip.

No negatives, but I would caution people that a narrow spiral staircase leads to most rooms, which might be an issue for people with mobility issues or (in our case) lots of luggage.
