I can say that everything about this hotel was exceptional. Staff was very courteous and friendly, and helped me to check in without any worries. The facilities were great, there was a microwave inside each hotel room, and the hotel was nearby. Local shops and amenities. I could even walk to the town centre within 10 minutes time, and to the quayside in around 25 minutes. Rooms were clean. Showers were hot. TV was great. I will definitely choose this place again if I'm back in Ipswich, and I think that comparatively, I couldn't have found a better deal.

I cannot complain about a thing at this hotel. Even the parking was great!

The staff I interacted with were very welcoming and helpful. The room, bed, and bathroom were comfortable and clean. Parking was available, and when it got busy the owners were helpful with providing further information regarding where else to park.

The only minor inconvenience I faced was that the drainage was ever so slightly slow while I was showering, which meant I had to periodically stop the water to prevent the shower basin from overflowing.

Cheap and cheerful en suite single room with TV, tea and coffee and a fan. Really good communicate with the hotel, as I was going to check in late in the evening (9pm). Staff were really good. Felt comfortable and safe as a solo female. The internet was fantastic - I'm used to chain hotels being terrible. I would happily stay again. Also the breakfast bag with croissant, porridge and apple juice was unexpected but appreciated. Plenty of parking in front of the hotel and on road. I parked in their carpark behind the hotel. Very narrow to get in but my 2-seater was fine.

I was worried about the bed / mattress being soft but slept very well.

We were thrilled with our last minute choice - plans had changed and we were lucky enough to find this gem. The proprietor was so welcoming even though we were very late arriving. Very encompassing welcome and delightful add on of a 'start your day' goodie bag even though there was no breakfast included in the room rate. Exceptionally clean and parking available too. Delighted with The Carlton and felt well taken care of - we were personally farewelled too

Close to the train station, a bit over 15 minutes walk, close to High Street , some 10 minutes walk, Tesco nearby , different food and grocery options ( including Greek which I loved it ) . Very clean room and hotel, very comfy bed, spotless, quiet and civilised area, The Staff is extremely nice and offering every information needed and surprised me with a breakfast bag to have for every morning. Note that they only provide soap , no other toiletries and the shower is an instant heating one so make sure you test it before using it ; so bring your own shower gel and shampoos and everything you need; this is not a minus, it is only a heads up. There s no codes for entrance, you get 2 keys , so , classic and functional :) Of all the stays in England in the past few years this is one of the best when it comes to cleanliness / price/area , coming from and independent hotel which I personally prefer to support Don t expect for a huge room, it s just what everyone needs for a trip. I will definitely come back

The peoperty was very easy to locate and accessible to several amenities like food stores, shops and many other services. The internet was fast. What stood out for me the most was how nice and helpful the host, Imran was. He was so kind and supportive, every concerned raised he would immediately work on it. He even helped me sort out my train ticket and was kind enough to call for me a taxi twice. I would highly recommend this place to anyone

The man was lovely who gave me my keys,, Ipswich really looks like it's up& coming,, the towns beautiful,, plenty of places to drink,, you can walk down by the river,, they have Primark,, the room was quite big even though it was a single,, the man even gave me a pack up breakfast 🥐

I accidentally entally put the breakfast 🍳 roll in to the microwave,, it was only for a min but it was too long,, the 🔥 alarms went off& smoked the room out,, it would of been good of the room had USB charging ports

The owner was lovely, really friendly chap. The room smelled of clean washing and was Well presented. We could park out the front too.

The toilet was dirty and I had to clean it. The shower wasn't very powerful, just needed descaled. The cleaner tried to open the door at 950am with her key, no knock , nothing, my son was just coming out of the shower ! I told her how rude that was. We stayed til 11 as the clocks had gone forward. Needed a mirror in the room, not just in bathroom.

Kind and helpful staff, a tidy room with a coffee maker, comfy bed, private bathroom. Property situated close to the town centre. There's everything one needs to stay for several days. We also received a free take-out breakfast which was a very nice gesture. Overall, very good value for money.

I have nothing bad to say about the property itself as it was nice, comfy and I felt safe there. The only thing I did not exactly like was the town area to the south - west from the Berners Street. I've got a feeling it's not the best place to go for a walk in the evening. Which, of course, has nothing to do with the Hotel.

Just 2 minutes walk to restaurants and shopping area. Breakfast provided, room & bed are as described & expected. Imran is a genuine nice host who is delightful, eager to help my stay enjoyable. Until I checked out leaving for the rail station... I need a taxi to the rail station but the traffic was very bad . You will wait for 30 minutes if you call the taxi! Imran spoke out frankly and drove us, we caught the train on time.
