I had thought the only breakfast option was a cooked one at extra cost, but there were plenteous provisions next to our room - a fridge with yogurts, milk and fruit juices, many different cereals, including gluten -free, and fresh fruit. All this was included in the fee. Plus extra sweets in our room. The Christmas atmosphere was wonderful, beautifully decorated bars, delicious menus, lovely helpful staff who were rushed off their feet, it was so busy, yet in the bedroom upstairs it was beautifully quiet! Absolutely great weekend, would highly recommend!

5 of us stayed & chose to have an early-evening meal. Food was OUTSTANDING, cordon-bleu, topend standards. Absolutely superb. 4 of us had the pork belly & we all said it was the best pork belly we've ever had. Having experienced amazing evening meal it felt rude not to experience their cooked breakfast (and additional cost to us). Once again a FANTASTIC breakfast; unusual to have a fried slice as part of a cooked breaky but it was sublime. All the standard cooked breaky items were cooked to perfection & excellent quality.

Only minor gripe (minor) was that hotel/bar had closed by the time we had returned around 22:00 for the overnight stay. We had indicated our plan to return to Railway for some 🍻nightcaps but unfortunately the Railway had already closed the main bar☹️

Fantastic rooms above the pub, we had all four of them as there were four couples attending a wedding at Kesgrave Hall which was only a fifteen minute drive away. Lovely, comfortable, bright and spacious rooms. Continental breakfast included with all that you needed in the fridge and on the table on the landing, on the Saturday we had cooked breakfast in the bar area which was extra but very nice indeed, with a good range for the varied requirements of our party. Good range of toiletries, tea, coffee etc etc supplied also, plenty of parking and the mini golf is also a must!! Overall we all found it an excellent place to stay and would definitely book again when needing to be in this location.

It's a very silly thing that I find with most accommodations like this - a tea towel and a small washing up sachet/bottle would be handy for washing up the cups in our rooms, it's not that I necessarily dislike that it wasn't available just a suggestion that I think would help. Also having worked in customer service myself I know it's not the easiest of jobs but a smile and some interaction really does go a long way.

Everything 😃💕 stayed here many times. 🏡 from home 🏡 😍 like finishes like magazines and books you can just take read and pop back for others enjoyment. A fridge where you'll find yoghurt, milk,water and you're able to pop a bottle of wine to keep cool. Plenty of cereals with honey,maple syrup 😋 those little extras, plenty of mini milks and teabags in the room and shower and hair shampoo and conditioner. Everything gleaming 😃 fantastic helpful cheerful staff, can't do enough for you and I would recommend the food, good quality. Thank you Sarah, Poppy and the rest of the staff for an enjoyable stay as usual xx💕💕💕💕

10/10 for the railway inn . Everything was perfect for me . Excellent value , friendly staff , comfy bed and clean room/bathroom . I came down from Huddersfield for the last game of the season , so the location between the local station (never heard any train noise from the room) and the town centre was perfect . The complimentary cereals etc were quite adequate , but I opted for a cooked breakfast downstairs in the pub , which was spot on . I'll definitely stop there again for the football , but I fear it could be a few years off 😁

There was nothing to not like .

We had such a lovely stay at the Railway Inn. The room was large, modern, clean, comfortable and had a modern, clean ensuite. The staff were so friendly and although above the pub, we were not disturbed by any noise. The Inn is next to the railway line and although we had the windows open, the train noise wasn't a problem at all. With the windows shut, the trains weren't heard. There was a great range of breakfast items that were free, on the landing outside our room, including fresh fruit, various cereals, fresh milk and alternative milks, gluten free cereals and yoghurts, tea, coffee and hot chocolate. The location was brilliant, on the outskirts of Ipswich, but it felt like we were in the countryside; it was so lovely.

Great location, comfortable rooms, extremely friendly. Ate in the bar both nights and the food was delicious and great value. Had plenty of complementary breakfast items in rooms and on landing and we also had a cooked breakfast one morning. Would stay again if in the area. Recommend booking a table for evening as very busy. Thank you

Very happy with everything. Only slight issue was that cooked breakfast is only available from 9 am, so missed this delicious start to the day one morning.

I was late checking in because of delays on the trains but the two ladies behind the bar were absolutely fine about it, even though I was checking out very early the next day I still had a good selection of all the complimentary breakfast items from the upstairs fridge. The location was great and the pub does food, next time I will try and arrive earlier so I can sample it

It was very hot in the room so I actually slept on top of the bed, I did open the bathroom window to let some air in but it overlooks the beer garden which was fairly busy

Room 2 very comfortable with many amenities . Thoughtful touches like cafetière in our room ,kettle , teas , mugs, cutlery. Relaxing chairs and dining chairs table tops for items too. We had the larger room plenty of space . Overlooked the road . Shower was good . Toiletries too. On the landing was a fridge and teas/ coffee/cereals/ yogurt/ fruit/ milk. Packeted croissants. The staff were very helpful . We ate in the Bar food good value. We have booked again !

This is, a beautiful pub in a scenic location. Adjacent to the railway line, you'll hear the trains, till 10pm ish, but who minds that!? Beautifully decorated, and furnished, gorgeous terrace and decked outside areas, in beautiful countryside, yet just a few mins out of Ipswich. Cosy & inviting downstairs, with delicious - sounding menus. Continental breakfast was available, in a communal area outside the rooms, with a microwave & fridge etc. Kettles & tea/coffee etc, in rooms. Fab staff, all helpful & friendly..

Continental breakfast was fine sweet cereals in individual boxes, communal muesli, fruits & yogurts, in fridge. One large communal bottle of milk, which was, sometimes hard to track down.. Would've loved some bread & cheese, as we never eat sweet cereals. Room was lovely, apart from rock-hard giant pillows, v hard to squash into a comfy shape
