The rooms are very comfortable.Quality beds and facilities.Air con,TV etc. The food is great and they have a good quality breakfast.. The place is small enough for one to have personal treatment. Mike Bernard and the reception" jack of all trades lady," her name starting with an L( sorry) require particular mention from me. I usually don't like it when people talk about the staff as it doesn't tell one much about the facilities etc. I do think that they really excel in both professionalism and service in just doing the job wirh no fuss when needed.!! I am always a bit of a demanding traveller, expecting the highest standards as I travel a lot on a small budget, and on arrival I usually want fresh milk extra hangers soft pillows etc. These needs are met promptly and with a smile and I could mention many examples where I feel they are really good at their jobs.Competent and happy people. The gardens of course are utterly spectacular. Many reviews focus on this and it really is true .I so enjoyed watching the adolescent peacocks practising strutting their stuff. ( I did worry though about one peacock being bullied and not getting enough food now that there are considerably more males this year.I myst addume they love these majestic birds and rhat someone is monitoring them closely) ) Nice pool wirh tables and chairs surrounding and the garden staff work so hard .I watched them everyday to do the cleaning taking such care to leave the gardens and patios looking as wonderful as it is. The Spa, on sight is small which I also like and if you have mobility problems,it's easy to get around through the series of paths to and from the pool, dining room spa etc. They are also very flexible and accommodating . .....I love this place and return from England to stay here a few times already.

No pork sausages at breakfast as I don't like beef or chicken...no issue really as the choice for breakfast is perfect .Its hard to find anything else that I didn't like

The fact that the garden was kept in such good condition and the view from the room made the space more inviting

There were a few maintenance things that could be fixed easily in the room that was a bit frustrating

The food was absolutely incredible. If this place had its own restaurant I would 100%, without a doubt be their number 1 customer. The staff is warm, friendly, attentive and very hospitable. If you are in need of some quaintly down time to escape life's busyness- Black Eagle Hotel & Spa is a place I would recommend

You're not allowed to have or bring your own drinks to the facilities and that the rooms didn't have a mini bar fridge

We had dinner and it was excellent. The staff could not have been nicer.

I’m being a bit picky her but honest. The shower was finicky. It was as if another water source was interfering with the cold water pressure, causing the temperature to fluctuate. Ouch!

It didn't feel like I was in Johannesburg and had a feel of being somewhere in the bushvelt which was lovely...

It was all good...the continental breakfast could be a bit bigger but it was tasty nonetheless.

The gardens are breathtaking and relaxing

The peacocks are very noisy at night and disturbing the peace. My wife and I are light sleeper. So we couldn't sleep well. A big irritation and a negative .
