The room was amazing, the owners had put a great deal of effort into creating a highly memorable and enjoyable experience. The quality of work, and attention to detail, on the decorating was outstanding. As well as looking great, the room was very comfortable. A great feature of the hotel was the "24 hour diner" actually a large room done in the style of a 1950s American diner, but equipped with all you needed for breakfast and availabile all the time. Ideal for an esrly departure or a leisurely breakfast.

EVERYTHING! Melvyn and Sindy were the best - very helpful and friendly. He let us check in early as we had planned a day out. The room was spotlessly clean. It was quiet, very comfortable. The attention to detail in our room and of the whole place was exceptional. Loved the American diner breakfast room. We enjoyed the fact that we could make our own breakfast with a good range of ingredients available. If you're a car enthusiast, especially Morgans, then this is the place for you. A showroom full of these beautiful cars and we could see that they are Melvyn's passion. Loved the pink and blue his and hers ones! Ideally situated close to Stansted Airport, Bishop's Stortford and the Henry Moore Foundation, to mention a few. A great place to book out for a birthday with family or friends. The Pitstop is great value for money and definitely a place to visit again.

Nothing that I can think of!! It is a quirky, fun place to stay, so if quirky, and fun isn't your thing then you won't enjoy it - we LOVED IT!

Beautifully decorated accommodation. Very friendly and helpful host. It was great being able to get up and have breakfast at our leisure and help ourselves to what we wanted from the range of food on offer. The bedroom was lovely and a comfortable bed. The accommodation is set in a picturesque location within a short drive from the airport. The bonus of being able to view the owners exquisite collection of vintage Morgan sports cars kept at the property was fantastic.

The only down side was we could hear the planes taking off frequently overhead which disturbed me a bit ( we live in a quiet rural location so unfortunately notice any noise easily). However this didn't spoil the stay.

The photo's of this place don't really do it justice. My family had all 4 bedrooms so had the whole thing which was great for breakfast together and swapping rooms to share make up for going out! Also, my 80 year old Dad is a very bad sleeper and he'll wander around at night so it was great he had space to move, he could watch telly in the kitchen and there was also a lift. The attention to detail on the car memorabilia and the Art Deco was superb. If we needed to visit that area again, I would definitely go back. For a Dad, sister, us and 2 teenagers it was absolutely ideal!

Had a great stay in mid July for one evening. Melvyn was extremely courteous on arrival and showed us all around the property despite being on crutches. Quirky B&B, with great decor and comfortable beds. We stayed in the twin room as this was only room left at time of booking. Outstanding diner themed kitchen area for self service breakfast. This experience was a little odd at first, as expected when cooking in someone else's kitchen, but a lot of fun and the food available was varied and plenty. Managed to fit in a quick look round the superb Morgans in the showroom under the bedrooms.

Everything. As a petrol head the PitStop is my dream B&B. It is in an actual Morgan dealership.The rooms are beautifully decorated, the bathroom was large with a wet room style shower. The american diner/breakfast room is a work of art with lots of Morgan memorabilia on the walls and even the windows are from the original Morgan factory. The attention to detail is fantastic. Melvyn, Sindy and their family are very welcoming and great hosts. There are lots of pubs and restaurants in the local area for evening meals. We shall be returning soon in our classic car to attend a near by show.

There wasn't anything that we didn't like.

It's an experience, not to be missed, because you can feast your eyes on all the stunning Morgans and stay in comfort. Melvin and his wife have thought about every tiny detail. He was so welcoming and took the time to show us to our room and explain where everything was in the Diner, which is amazing and you feel like you've been spirited back to 1960s America. He gave us a recommendation for a pub, a few miles down the road but was also happy for us to bring a takeaway into the diner. The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, a great shower and spacious bathroom. The location was close to Bishops Stortford and Stanstead. They were very generous with snacks and biscuits, different options for breakfast. It's a great Pit Stop and it represents good value for money. Thankyou.

More fruit with our breakfast.

Breakfast was just want we wanted, literally. The kitchen was stocked up with all the items needed for breakfast and we prepared it the way we liked. The kitchen is available 24 hours a day and in the evening we brought in food and cooked it for ourselves, sat in the American style diner watching Grease on the TV ( in memory of Olivia Newton John) and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. What other guest house can you walk into the kitchen and do cheese on toast at 3 in the afternoon. The rooms are themed and finished to a high standard. The bed was extremely comfortable and my partner recorded a sleep score in the 80's ( for those unfamiliar with Fitbit that's brilliant). Melvyn and Sindy were very welcoming and gave us the grand tour of the building and dealership ( you don't have to be into vehicles to appreciate what effort has gone into every aspect of the business). The rooms are very quiet and the only noise we heard was through the open windows when the birds sang us a dawn chorus. A fabulous concept very well executed. Do yourself a favour and stay at the Pitstop, you won't regret it.

I just can't think of anything negative.

Friendly welcome, lovely clean facilities with welcoming kitchen diner well stocked with tea,coffee, snacks and breakfast. Comfy bed. Good communication prior to visit by the host who was very helpful with taxi details etc. Loved the extra surprises such as biscuits and snack bars, fruit etc available on arrival in the kitchen. Good value and would visit again. Would recommend.

It was a little too warm overnight in the four poster bed despite the fan and windows open ( but it was end of June summer night) so not unexpected!🙂

Beautiful hotel spotless , details amazing american breakfast diner wes perfect beautifully decorated really really sparkling and clean as was everywhere else Melvyn and sindy lovely friendly couple very proud of their hotel and gorgoues morgan cars .

The walk to the nearest pub resturaunt was a little hairy the cars drive really fast and there is not much pavement it was a long walk but a 10 min car drive there is parking at the side or the front of the thatcher there is also a coop near by .for a nice chilled bottle of wharever you want, so next time we will definatly drive we orderd a cab home it cost 10,00 pounds.
