This is my 55th stay at Matrix. I frequently come here in the last two years and it's my go to place in Edmonton. Last summer I stayed for almost a whole month and Matrix never fails my expectation. They sure know how to keep a customer. This time around I flew in very late, around 3 am and the staff accommodated me like a Queen. Young gentleman that works night shift at the front desk remembered me and gave me a decent upgrade as a loyalty customer. Stays in Edmonton don't get better then this. Location is fantastic, close to all decent restaurants and night life and this hotel has nice, clean and spacious rooms for conferences and meetings during which I always had an amazing experience.

I love Matrix for facilities and cleanliness but the food... They need to work on their menu. Restaurant staff made one too many mistakes with our order which resulted in the meeting lasting over 2,5 hours. I am not too keen on their menu, lots of Indian food but not a lot of alternative choices. Breakfast is okay, pretty steady with bacon, potatoes and eggs.

Room was nice, a good size and a nice big bed. Breakfast was really good but a little on the expensive side. Bathroom was nice and tub was big. Hotel was in a good location as well.

Room could have been a little cleaner, mostly just the bathroom. The shower curtain didn't seem to work very well as there was a lot of water on the floor afterwards. The TV didn't have any smart features. No way to log into netflix or anything.

The location is definitely one of the highlights. The staff was very attentive and quick to answer any questions or requests. I also liked the breakfast, good options and a fair price for being a buffet.

I found the bed in my suite to be softer than usual, but that's a personal preference. And what I didn't like was that the bathroom door was sliding and didn't close like a normal door, leaving a small gap between the door and the wall. Depending on who you share the room with, there might not be much privacy.

Decent breakfast, staff were friendly. The location is near the main road and close to train station. There is a Starbucks outlet just below.

They initially mentioned that my booking got cancelled, but after checking they told me that the booking exists. There were no lunch options, room service. They had a coffee machine but no kettle.

I was a bit upset to see the wine tasting and snacks not be apart of our stay as well as a stocked fridge and snacks. That was a great convenience for us. And having to pay for breakfast as well. We've been staying at The Matrix since 2015 so all of this was a surprise. While things there were good I'm not sure if we'll return, those little extras is what made The Matrix hotel unique and what attracted us to it.

Location was great as it’s right downtown.

Didn’t like the sliding door to the bathroom as there’s not a whole lot of privacy and the bathroom is right by the bed. Also, the bed was very low to the ground, so if you have a bad back, it’s not so great. We had a king size bed, but only three pillows. And the coffee maker wouldn’t work very well. And there was not enough creamer or sugar.

The complimentary breakfast is like nothing you’ve seen and the complimentary glass of wine in the evening followed by a fantastic meal absolutely made our stay. Thanks for spoiling us and we look forward to seeing you all the next time we find ourselves in Edmonton!

The suites are fantastic but it’s the people who make the property!

The Reception Staff was excellent, there was a problem with my initial Reservation, but the Front Office Staff made the problem go away and I was grateful for their inguienity. My suite was very clean and had everything I needed. We went to the Oilers game at Rogers , 18 minute walk, but opted for a cab for $7. The room was nicely furnished I drive a large truck and didn't find parking to be a problem, parking spots sre tight but once I parked, either walked or took a Cab. Breakfast was so/so but free

The bed was extremely comfortable, except for the frame which can catch you unaware on the corners. The room temperature was perfect for sleeping, and we weren't disturbed by fan noise. The breakfast was very good, although for the price we paid to stay overnight, I think it should have been included.

Hospitality of the staff and even though we stayed for a few days, housekeeping made sure that every day they get to clean our suite while we're out. We didn't need to ask for that.

We did not like the thought that payment for parking was per day. Usually, parking is free or a one-time payment. But I guess a part of their parking is owned by impark. $30 a day is too much, especially when you really won't be staying in the hotel and mostly be out the whole time of your stay.
